Oh yes Malaysia is one of the respectable Islamic countries in the world, not only that we are also successful, and dont forget Malaysia's economic reputation is also supported by all races that make Malaysia, Malaysia !

Malaysia respects other races that share the country like Chinese, Indian, Eurasian etc.  Are we forgetting them??? As long as the participant is non Muslim, i think it should be ok (we are not denying the non muslims right, rite? i hope so !)

what is secular to you? and when you say the government is secular, what is it in your mind? may i ask?

isnt it true that as long as we are still alive, we are living in a secular world ... until we are dead, we then will join those in the other world

being alive in a secular world, we need things & ideas that exist in this secular world that could help us move the country .. we sometimes "overuse" the word secular without knowing the real meaning & concept of secularism and mostly this word is manipulated by the group that labelled themselves as Islamic & pious ..

as per this topic, i believe all countries around the world are aware that Malaysia is represented by its people of different races, cultures & religions .. so respect is the name of the game !!

As much as we dont want others to deny our right, so why must we deny others'
in this issue, we should be wise and not emotional !

mifal ada reply tentang silapnya memilih kerajaan sekular..secularism penting. jgn pula timbul regrets. kita mus all come to an understanding that yes, m'sia is a multi-racial, multi-religious country. if we are not secular, we wld be denying non muslims' rite. but on the same hand, we wld like to portray to the world that we are a progressive islamic country so inevitably, some issues will clash. this is an example. tentang ni i'd have to say that being represented is alright. as long as the person is not a muslim. miss malaysia is like an ambassador. she demonstrates that msians do respect each other regardless of race and religion. this dispels the misconception that msia is too extremist in its policies pertaining to religion. we are moderates. and we do accept the presence of other religions and races. this is an international platform where we can prove that to them. jus an opinion
