한류 톱스타들, 국내 안방극장서 대격돌



[마이데일리 = 임이랑 기자] 2007년의 마지막을 장식할 대작들이 속속 모습을 드러내고 있다. 12월 시청자들을 만날 채비를 한 드라마의 캐스팅 목록에는 대형 한류스타들이 대거 포진해 있어 기대감을 높이고 있다.

가장 먼저 시청자들을 만나는 한류스타는 KBS 2TV 새 월화드라마 '못된사랑(극본 이유진, 연출 권계홍)'으로 화려하게 복귀하는 권상우다. 약 2년 8개월 만에 안방극장으로의 컴백하는 권상우는 '천국의 계단', '슬픈연가' 등으로 한류스타에 이름을 올린 바 있다.

'못된사랑'을 복귀작으로 정한 권상우는 현재 상대역 이요원과 제주도에서 촬영에 한창이다. 김성수가 가세해 지독한 사랑의 전형을 보여줄 이 드라마는 '얼렁뚱땅 흥신소' 후속으로 12월 3일 첫 선을 보인다.

장혁은 12월 26일 방송 예정인 SBS '불한당(가제, 극본 김규완, 연출 유인식)'으로 '고맙습니다'의 인기를 이을 예정이다. '불한당'은 여성을 유혹해 등처먹고 살아가는 권오준과 싱글맘 진달래의 로맨스를 그린 내용이다. 장혁과 호흡을 맞출 싱글맘으로는 이다해가 낙점됐다.

'올인'으로 일약 한류스타가 된 지성은 '태왕사신기' 이후 12월 방송 예정인 의학드라마 '뉴하트(가제, 극본 황은경, 연출 박홍균)'로 군 제대 이후 안방극장 복귀를 한다. '뉴하트'는 '외과의사 봉달희', '하얀거탑'의 뒤를 잇는 의학드라마로, 흉부외과 의사들의 이야기를 다뤘다.

지성은 흉부외과 레지던트 이은성으로 출연하며, 지성과 호흡을 맞춘 레지던트 남혜석 역으로는 김민정이 출연한다.

이 외에도 내년 2월 방송을 준비중인 60억 대작 블록버스터 '카인과 아벨(극본 김영찬, 연출 최호성)'에는 제대 후 처음으로 복귀하는 소지섭과 '대장금'으로 한류열풍을 몰고 온 지진희가 출연을 결정해 팬들의 이목을 집중시키고 있다.

Korean Wave top stars Kwon Sang Woo, Jang Hyuk, Ji Sung, and Soh Ji Sup star in new dramas

Kwon Sang Woo’s new KBS2 drama “Cruel Love (못된 사랑)” will be aired by KBS2 on 12/3. He has not appeared in TV dramas for 2 years and 8 months since his last drama “Sad Love Song”. Currently, he and the lead actress Lee Yo Won are filming this drama in Cheju Island, and his role and actor Kim Sung Soo’s character are involved in an awful love story.

Jang Hyuk will lead the SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama “Gang of Robbers (불한당)” scheduled to be aired on 12/26. He plays the role Kwan Oh Joon (권오준) who always wins women’s hearts. His counterpart in the drama is actress Lee Da Hae who plays the character Jin Dal Lae (진달래).

Ji Sung will costar with Jo Jae Hyun and Kim Ming Jung (조재현, 김민정) in the Wednesday-Thursday drama “New Heart (뉴하트)” scheduled to be aired by MBC in December, following the final episode of “Four Legend of the Great King”. Similar to popular dramas “Surgeon Bong Dal Hee” and “White Giant Tower”, this medical drama portrays a story of doctors. Ji Sung plays the role Lee Eun Sung (이은성), a resident chest doctor. Kim Ming Jung also plays a resident doctor Nam Hye Suk (남혜석).

Soh Ji Sup will lead the large-scale drama “Kane and Abel”. This drama’s production cost will be around 6 billion Won. His costar is Ji Jin Hee who was the lead actor of the famous drama “Dae Jang Geum”.

Wu Zun willing to be 3rd, Show and Jerry fight for 1st (Basketball Fire)

Having a strong cast will make people envious. The new GTV drama seriesBasketball Fire got Jerry Yan, Show Luo and Wu Zun together to make upa strong cast, but before the 3 of them get to compete their basketballskills, they are already competing for the no.1 actor position.
WuZun decided to take up no.3 position on his own accord while neither ofthe two experienced actors Jerry and Show is willing to be no.2.

twomonths ago, Basketball fire had a difficult time persuading Jerry toact in this series. Just when Jerry had agreed, Show became undecidedand again GTV's big shots had to persuade Show to act in this show. Inaddition to the earlier confirmed Wu Zun, they finally managed to getthe three actors to work together for this series, yet now they arefaced with ranking problems, as all three of them are very popular.

Fornext wednesday's press conference (21st Nov), the poster designer had ahard time deciding how to put the three of them on the poster. As WuZun will be acting in another series Er Bi Jian at the beginning ofnext year, his role in Basketball Fire will not be as major as Show andJerry, hence he willingly took up the last rank. As for Show and Jerry,after looking at the script, both their artiste management companiesfeel that their roles are equally important and both have the qualitiesto be the no.1 actor in Basketball Fire.

GTV and both actors'management companies had a meeting this week and they had discussedabout the ranking problems, but GTV is not willing to give anyinformation. But they said they will make it such a way that everyonewill be happy.

Show's manager had expressed yesterday that theranking isn't important. What's most important is to be able to workwith good actors and crew. Jerry's manager also expressed they had nocomments regarding the ranking and that they will respect GTV'sdecision. As for GTV, they said they will design a poster which showsthat all three actors have equal importance. As for other matters, theyhave yet to come up with a conclusion.

Popular Korean star Lee Jun-ki has signed a contract with Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG) to manage his jobs and career in Chinese region (China, Hong Kong and Taiwan).

An official from EEG has confirmed that Jun-ki has signed the contract, and that EEG will officially announced his joining in October. The contract details are not released, but is believed to be worth at least 8 figures (that is at least 10 million Hong Kong dollars).

EEG is one of the largest entertainment groups in Hong Kong; their managed stars include TWINS, Joey Yung and Isabella Leong etc.

South Korean actor Lee Jun-ki signs Greater China management rights to Hong Kong company

South Korean actor Lee Jun-ki, famous for his portrayal of a feminine court jester in the hit movie "King and the Clown," agreed to let a Hong Kong company that works with Jackie Chan to manage his career in the Chinese-speaking world.

South Korean pop culture _ movies, music, TV series _ are hugely popular among ethnic Chinese audiences worldwide.

The 25-year-old Lee appeared at the signing ceremony with Hong Kong's Emperor Entertainment Group or EEG, sitting on a throne in front of a golden backdrop with his name on it, evoking the ancient Korean imperial court setting of "King and the Clown."

Lee said through a translator that he signed with EEG because it had been enthusiastic in courting him, and that he was confident that the company could best promote him in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

EEG, a division of Hong Kong-based Emperor Group, manages some of Chinese pop's biggest acts like Joey Yung and the female pop duo Twins.

Emperor Group also has a joint venture with Chan, JCE Movies Ltd., which Chan uses as a vehicle for his Chinese-language productions.

“Basketball of Fire” Begins Filming, “Fans Support” Competition

The country’s 3 biggest male idols, Jerry Yan, Show Luo, and Wu Zun are filming a new drama “Basketball of Fire.” Today, November 21st, they held an open press conference, which not only attracted tons of fans, but ever since the preparation of filming, there has been a constant “battle” of pay, rank, and role.
