Oprah Winfrey's Cocker Spaniel Dies



Oprah Winfrey's 13-year-old Cocker Spaniel, Sophie, has passed away of kidney failure.

"Everyone here is really sad," a source at her Harpo production company told Celebrity Dog Watcher. "Sophie was truly part of the Harpo family as well as Oprah's."

In the December issue of O, Winfrey wrote about Sophie's condition, saying that she and beau Stedman Graham were "preparing for the inevitable."

The two have another Cocker Spaniel, Solomon.

Less than a year ago, they lost their beloved Golden Retriever, Gracie, who chocked on a ball.

Gracie "did more living in two years than most dogs do in 12," Winfrey wrote of the dog's death last year. "This dog lived every moment as though it were her last.

"Her life was a gift to me," she added. "Her death, a greater one."

Jackass Star Johnny Knoxville Finalizes Divorce



Johnny Knoxville is officially a single man.

The Jackass star, 37, has finalized his divorce from wife, Melanie Lynn Clapp, according to legal papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Though he must cover his family’s health and medical expenses, several issues — including spousal and child support, as well custody of their 11-year-old daughter, Madison — still need to be worked out, TMZ reports.

Knoxville and Lynn married in May 1995 but separated in July 2006.

In July 2007, Knoxville — who dismissed rumors that he had a fling with Jessica Simpson while shooting 2005’s The Dukes of Hazzard — filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.

Pamela Anderson, Rick Salomon's Marriage Annulled



The marriage of Pamela Anderson and Rick Salomon was annulled on the grounds of fraud on Monday.

TMZ obtained the legal papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Anderson, 40, initially filed for divorce last December after two months of marriage.

On February 22, she sought an annulment, citing fraud. On Friday, Salomon, 39, also filed papers seeking an annulment (he, too, checked the box marked "fraud.")

Neither has explained why they cited fraud.

They wed last October in Las Vegas after one month of dating.

Let the High School Musical mania begin again!

On Monday, Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens left Los Angeles International Airport together, en route to Utah, where the girls will meet up with Zacquisha to film what is (most probably) going to be the FINAL installment (with the current cast) of Disney's High School Musical.

The third part of the super successful franchise will be released in theaters.

It is expected to come out in the fall, tentatively around October.

The entire cast is back and so is the whole creative team.

They should shoo it in 3-D while they're at it. It's all the rage these days!

Hogans Going To Trial



It seems like 2008 is not shaping up to be a good year for the Hulk and his clan!

The family of John Graziano, the young Iraq war veteran who was left in a semiconscious state after Nick Hogan crashed his car back in 2007, has filed suit against the Hogans.

The family is suing Hulk Hogan and his wife Linda. They have also listed Nick Hogan as a defendant and Daniel Jacobs, the individual in the car racing against Nick, as a co-defendant.

In February, Daniel Jacobs pleaded no contest to a charge of reckless driving. He was fined $500, sentenced to 90 days of probation, had his driver’s license suspended for 90 days and ordered to complete 25 hours of community service.

The suit alleges that Nick negligently operated his Toyota Supra by racing against another car. The other car, a Doge Viper driven by Danny, is also owned by Hulk Hogan. The allegations are that the Hogans knew of Nick’s passion for speeding and were aware of his modified, speed racing vehicles.

To make matters even worse, reports that Hulk purchased alcohol for Nick and his friends on the day of the accident, have made it into the suit.

The suit is alleging that the Hogans were negligent and are also directly liable for the wreck.

As for Graziano, he is not in a complete vegetative state. Though part of his frontal lobe had to be removed, he can still respond to heat and light. On few occasions, he has breathed without a ventilator.

That doesn't seems like much a life to us, though. So sad.

The suit does not say how much money they are asking for, but reports show that the Graziano family has already spent more than $1 million in medical care.

You can't put a price tag on the pain and suffering caused by that crash, but John's family definitely deserve much more than $1 million!

Ouch and Ewww



Poor Priscilla Presley. The girl Elvis fell in love with has had her face botched by a quack!

It explains so much.

According to reports, fake doctor Daniel Serrano proclaimed to Priscilla P. in 2003 that he could treat her with a miracle drug that was better than Botox.

You know what that drug was? An industrial, low-grade silicone — similar to what's used to lubricate auto parts in Argentina, Serrano's home country.

Priscilla wasn't Serrano's only victim. Apparently, 'Dr. Jiffy Lube' also treated friends of Shawn King (wife of talker Larry King) and Diane Richie (Lionel Richie's former wife) at injection parties!

The injections caused lumps, paralysis and holes in the faces of some of the women (and some men) injected by Serrano.

He has been convicted for all this shadiness, and last week he was released and is currently being investigated by federal immigration officials and could be deported.

Should be!

Diane Richie was also indicted as a Serrano accomplice. She pled out and was placed on probation.

Priscilla is supposedly undergoing corrective work.

Lesson to learn — if you must mess with your face, only use FDA approved shizz!

And make sure your doctor is legit!!!!

Young Critics Are The Most Honest



Last week a 12 year old boy was arrested in Bloomington, Illinois.

His crime?

He threw a rock at Soulja Boy’s tour bus the day after one of his performances!

While we don't like to condone violence, we say….he should have used water balloons!

The incident took place near a Hampton Inn West in Bloomington, IN, a bit before 8:00pm.

When questioned by police offers as to why the boy threw the rock at the tour bus windshield, he simply responded with “I hate Soulja Boy!”

Word!

Luckily, no one was hurt by the 12 year old rock-thrower.

Must be tough when your music is so bad, it leads people to violence.

Our fellow Aries, Suri Cruise, will reportedly celebrate her 2nd birthday in high style.

Life & Style claims that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are keeping Suri out of the public eye til the day of her big bash to get massive press coverage. We've been wondering where Suri has been!

Could this really be the reason?!

If so, gross but savvy!

The alternative theory about the missing Suri is that Tom and Katie were forced to face up to the ugly truth that putting Suri out there is NOT a good thing. She's not the little adult TomKat claim she is.

A source close to the family recounted that one evening, on the way out of a restaurant, fans surged and freaked Suri out. According to the insider, "She (Suri) started blinking her eyes because people started taking pictures, and she put up an arm to shield her face. She cried and clung to Katie the whole way back to the hotel. That really upset Katie.”

Leave Suri alone!

Tributes Surface for Corinne Bailey Rae's Husband

While police continue to investigate the the suspected drug death of Jason Rae, he is already receiving tribute messages on a YouTube clip.

Rae, 31, who played alto and bass saxophone in the eight-piece funk band Haggis Horns, can be seen talking to the camera in a strong Scottish brogue as he introduces the group in a seven-minute clip on YouTube.

"Just heard the news. My prayers go to the band and to Corrine," wrote grlblu73 in the comments section of the video.

"RIP all prayers go to his family," wrote griffinollie.

The official Web site for his bereaved wife was updated March 24 to include a message from her record company: "EMI Records would like to offer its sincere condolences to Corinne Bailey Rae and the Rae family at this tragic time. We ask that the media respects Corinne's privacy and that of her entire family."

Meanwhile, with Easter Monday a public holiday in Britain, the band's MySpace page is yet to be updated.

The group's record company Web site, which quotes the band as having "The best f***ing horn section in the World!" according to producing wunderkid Mark Ronson, has not been modified to include news of the shock death of Rae.

A very pregnant-looking Tori Spelling check into the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills on Easter Sunday.

The 34-year-old actress was accompanied by 41-year-old husband Dean McDermott and 1-year-old son Liam.

Tori and Dean are expecting their second child, a daughter, in July.

Late last week, Ms. Spelling expressed interest in starring in the remake of 90210.

“My dad always wanted to do a new version of 90210, so I’m sure he will be beaming from above!” Tori told People, referring to her father, the show’s producer Aaron Spelling. “And I’d love to somehow be a part of it. That as well would make my dad proud! …Maybe I could be one of the main character’s young stepmom. Playing the funny sex ed teacher at the high school would be funny, too, considering Donna Martin was America’s most infamous virgin.”

Leo DiCaprio Helps Credit Cards Go Green

Leonardo DiCaprio continues to show his environmental side, taking his first visit to Hong Kong to promote local bank HSBC’s new “Green Credit Card” on Sunday.

The 33-year-old actor and his eponymous foundation spearheaded the initiative with HSBC, which claims its green card is made of environmentally friendly materials and uses digital bills to cut down on paper consumption. Every transaction will also contribute to a local environmental protection project. The green card will launch in early April.

‘Prison Break’ Season 4 Picked Up



Nick Santora, writer and co-executive producer of Prison Break, just announced on his blog that season 4 was just officially picked up by FOX. (Yes, that is Santora to the right with Prison Break Oragami Crane earrings.)

Santora wrote, “So we got word on Wednesday that we are officially picked up by the network for Season 4. This is great news. We are all very excited. We are moving offices onto the Fox Studio Lot next week and we had to say goodbye to the offices that were our home for the past 3 years … not really that sad because, well, c’mon, it’s just a frickin’ building. But my new office is about half the size with just a tiny window which normally would suck except for one thing … I get to go to work everyday with people I love and respect and I get to be creative. So I don’t really give a rat’s *** what our new offices look like! For those of you who celebrate Easter, have a great one. I will be at my home having Easter dinner with family (visiting cousins) and friends (including Prison Break writer Kalinda Vazquez) — it should be a nice weekend leading into an even better week of diving head-first into Season 4! As a legend in her own right perhaps Madonna wanted to draw comparisons with France's most famous singer. The Queen of Pop chose to recreate the smoky look of tragic jazz singer Edith Piaf for a Kabbalah fancy dress party. Dripping in diamonds and shrouded in a fur stole the 49 year-old singer's sophisticated look was in stark contrast to that chosen by her husband. Guy Ritchie, 39, opted to dress as cartoon character Asterix - donning a shapeless white tunic, platinum blonde plaits and a Viking helmet with horns. The annual party to celebrate the Jewish festival of Purim has become a fixture in the Ritchie's calendar ... Madonna has an affinity with Edith Piaf and in 2000 it was reported that she was considering an offer to play the performer on the West End stage. Piaf's story came to renewed prominence this year due to the Oscar-winning French film of her life, La Vie en Rose. Mr and Mrs Ritchie have toned down their outfits since their first Purim outing in 2005. They raised eyebrows when they attended dressed as a nun - Madonna is a lapsed Catholic - and the Pope. The festival of Purim celebrates the foiling of an ancient plot to kill Jews in Persia led by Queen Esther. The tradition of fancy dress is symbolic of the reversal of fate and of Esther's concealed Jewish heritage. Madonna's herself adopted the Hebrew name Esther in 2005.

Clearly, the couple that costumes together stays together. Madge looks great as the Little Sparrow ... Guy looks great as Thor or whatever he's supposed to be. Happy Purim to all!!

Fakin' It For The Kids

Ex-spouses Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee got together this Easter weekend to spend some nice family bonding time with their two sons in Malibu, CA so that they could pretend to be a happy family for the Easter holiday. On again? Pam Anderson spent Easter Sunday with ex-husband Tommy Lee in Malibu, California. The pair – who have two sons, Brandon, 11, and Dylan, 9, from their 1995-1998 marriage – went to the movies and had lunch at Geoffrey's. Two days earlier, Rick Salomon filed papers to annul his two-month marriage – which ended in December – to Anderson. Salomon's filing cited fraud as the reason for the annulment. Anderson's earlier divorce filing also cited fraud. On Wednesday, Anderson told Ellen DeGeneres that she is not dating anyone, following her Salomon split, and is spending her days with her "kids. That's taking up a lot of time." She said she volunteers on the safety patrol of her sons' school. "I get a lot of high fives," Anderson added. "[Other parents] think it's funny that I'm there doing that. I'm a Mom – you have to do it and I love it."

Wooo boy, they sure do make the perfect picture of family bliss. You gotta love that the couple has managed to remain friendly for their children. Besides, there is always the chance that Pam and Tommy may get back together again for good in between her frequent but very short marriages ... I imagine these little family dates are timed perfectly so that the door to a reconciliation can always be kept open. Oh and pardon me for not believing this "safety patrol" b.s. that Pamela is trying to peddle to Ellen ... sure it makes a cute story but until I see a pic of Pamela Anderson with a fluorescent yellow safety patrol belt strapped across her heaving bosom, I'm gonna call bullshizz on this little story. Tie One One, Shoot One Off

Claudia Schiffer and lucky bastard Joseph Gordon-Levitt are featured in a new pictorial in GQ magazine this month wherein the supermodel and the barely just post-adolescent phased-looking actor get to play a game of spy cat and mouse ... which leads to some little s+m fun. Yeah, I'm not sure whose idea it was for this photospread to turn out this way but I imagine that JGL was very appreciative in the end ... oh yeah, in the mag Joe talks a wee bit about his appearance in the GI Joe movie and a bit more about his new movie Stop-Loss but you gotta wonder how he could really focus on anything other than his photoshoot with Claudia:



As a kid growing up in Los Angeles, Joseph Gordon-Levitt felt the weight of his parents’ politics early on. "I wasn't allowed to play with G.I. Joes," he says. "My parents drew the line at toys with guns." Which is ironic, considering the 27-year-old actor is now filming (yup) the bigscreen adaptation of G.I. Joe. Is Gordon-Levitt's stint in Hollywood ammo porn a slap in the face to Mom—a woman who, it should be said, once ran for Congress on the leftwing Peace and Freedom ticket? Nah. "The G.I. Joe costumes and the effects are just so ####### cool," he says. "And it looked like fun" ... The actor's do-right onscreen mission includes this month's Stop-Loss, Kimberly Peirce's follow-up to Boys Don’t Cry; it’s the story of an AWOL soldier (Ryan Phillippe) slapped with an unwanted return ticket to Iraq. Joe Gordon (that's what his friends call him), in a standout performance of complex rage, plays a soldier suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, a condition he self-medicates by using his household appliances for target practice. The film may be a tough sell, what with Iraq-themed movies falling at the box office. But he's quick to point out that unlike some of those films, Stop-Loss isn't a polemic: "The movie isn't about geopolitics or oil. It's about staying alive and keeping your friends alive—it's basic, and it's in a man's nature." Still, what would Mom make of all this gunplay? "The more guns you're around, the more likely you're gonna get shot," he says, pausing to smile: "But at the same time, they're fun as hell to shoot."

I guess GQ really does understand their target audience ... I don't know that many publications would so adeptly pair talk of guns with sexy pics like this ... and in such a classy way that even *I* find the whole thing interesting. It would appear that metrosexuality swings both ways.

Clean Cut

Johnny Depp got himself a shave AND a haircut for his new movie Public Enemies which he began shooting earlier this week in Wisconsin (of all places). I can't remember the last time I saw Johnny look this hairless ... but the new look does shave about 5 years off him, I think. Here are a few pics of Johnny in full costume as original o.g. I am not a fan of period pieces (especially ones that have a western feel to them) but the cast of Public Enemies is pretty remarkable ... Christian Bale, Channing Tatum, and Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard all co-star with Johnny in this movie where, according to IMDB, "The Feds try to take down notorious American gangsters John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson and Pretty Boy Floyd during a booming crime wave in the 1930s." Despite the periodness of the film, there is a lot of hotness in this cast. I might have to check it out when it opens next year.

Kate the Cabdriver Gets Sexy for French Vogue

Kate Moss continues to look amazing in anything (or nothing) that touches her skin. Although the supermodel may have been dethroned as the best dressed Brit, she certainly still knows how to strike a pose and cause a frenzy. Her latest Topshop line hit stores with a lot of fanfare last week, and to celebrate Kate bought herself a new car. But, this being Kate, her new ride isn't just any old thing; she bought herself one of London's black cabs. Kind of an odd choice — but if anyone can pull it off, it's Kate.

Justin Donates to Keep the Memphis Music Alive

Justin Timberlake is ever moving on up in the entertainment world and busy shooting his new movie The Open Road in his hometown, but he'll never forget where he came from. On Thursday, Justin donated $100,000 each to the Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum and the Memphis Music Foundation. He said, "Music education and keeping the legacy of Memphis Music alive has always been important to me ... That is why I will always continue to support my home town the same way they have always supported me." I admit that sometimes JT's ego gets in the way for me, but when he acts like a sweet guy who remembers his home it's pretty heart-meltingly cute.

Fergie's Looking Less and Less Like a Mommy-To-Be

Fergie was looking chic and not-so-pregnant hanging around outside a recording studio in LA on Friday. Despite her newfound love for flowy dresses, her skinny jeans are only making her baby bump denial seem more truthful. We would love to see Josh and Fergie with a little one by their sides, so hopefully we won't have to wait too long after they finally tie the knot.

Is Heidi a Feminist Hero?

Heidi and Spencer seized a golden opportunity for another ridiculous photoshoot while having some Easter fun with Spencer's niece in LA yesterday. Despite the promos we've seen for the new season of The Hills, it's clear that these two are still together. Even so, things were rocky at the end of the last season after Heidi laid down the law with Spencer and they broke off their engagement. Today the New York Times ran an article praising Heidi for standing up to her controlling boyfriend, and even called her "a kind of feminist hero." So tell us — do you agree that Heidi is a feminist hero?

Orlando's Got a Hot Girl, Not So Hot Outfit

Orlando Bloom was showing off his hot model girlfriend Miranda Kerr and, um, interesting fashion choices out to lunch in LA on Friday. The pants? The hat? The lady-like shoes? I can't decide which part of this is most strange. Well, at least the cardigan/tee shirt is cute? Yeah, I don't really get it. It was only about a year ago when I finally admitted Orlando's handsomeness, but he doesn't always make it easy.

Owen Bikes With His Own Rider

Kate and Owen have something else in common — they found someone to ride on their bikes with them this weekend. Owen was spotted in Miami giving a friend a not as safe ride as the one Kate and Ryder went on but it looks like he is trying to be extra careful. Owen's personal life may be going well with his reunited Kate Hudson relationship but unfortunately his latest movie didn't do well at the box office this weekend only earning $10 million. It's hard to beat animated family comedies like Horton but between poor reviews and lack of promotions, they couldn't have expected much. Owen may be ready to get back to work but perhaps he's not quite prepared for sitting in the hot seat for interviews. Can't blame him, but we welcome the day the funny guy gets back out there.

She is reborn!

God has heard our prayers. Yes, she may not be as "entertaining" as she was during her crazy days, but she's a real person and she was in real danger of ending up like Anna Nicole Smith. NOT a good thing!

Britney made her big appearance on How I Met Your Mother yesterday, and, something special also happened on Monday too. She got back to work!

Momma Spears was spotted at the Alleycat Recording Studio in Hollywood.

Now that she's seeing her kids again and her dad has helped her get better, Britney is getting her career back on track (we hope).

We're ready for a proper comeback. You can do it, girl!!!

'G.I. Joe' Live Action Movie Details Revealed!



Hot on the heels of the success of "Transformers," Paramount is bringing yet another 1980's toy to the big screen, but instead of otherworldly shape-shifting robots, get ready for a real American hero!

"G.I Joe" is currently in production and set for a summer 2009 release, but fans are already getting a sneak peak at some of the action.

Paramount has released two photos of the fan-favorite character Snake Eyes, played by Ray Park, of Darth Maul "Star Wars" fame. Snake Eyes holds an impressive title according to "G.I. Joe" director Stephen Sommers.

"He's the world's greatest ninja, but he's also next-generation. He's not afraid to use a sword one second, and a split-second later he's pulling out his Glock," Sommers told USA Today. "His chief nemesis is arguably the world's other great ninja, Storm Shadow. The two grew up together, were blood brothers and now are mortal enemies."

Access Hollywood caught up with Channing Tatum while promoting the Iraq war drama "Stop-Loss." Channing, who plays G.I. Joe's leader, Duke, admitted he was apprehensive about stepping into another war film, but says "G.I. Joe" is not your typical combat filled movie.

"'G.I. Joe' is now a war film," Channing told Access. "I was afraid it was going to be a real war film, and actually it's nothing like that-- it's 'X-Men' with 'Mission Impossible.'"

As for "G.I. Joe" sticking with its comic book and cartoon roots, Channing couldn't agree more, saying, it’s a comic book "to the tenth degree."

Channing's co-stars, Dennis Quaid and Sienna Miller, are also pumped to dive into this summer blockbuster.

"'G.I. Joe" goes back to when I was a kid, and I thought it would be a lot of fun to be a part of this," Dennis Quaid, who will play Commander Hawk, told Access. "It's a huge popcorn action movie, and a little bit of a cartoon in a sense. The way it's going to be done… it's going to be really exciting."

Access wasn't only talking to the good guys. Sienna Miller, who will portray the diabolical lady of Cobra, The Baroness, revealed the lengths she's going to in order to nail her iconic character.

"[The film] requires a lot of physical training," Sienna told Access. "I have a black wig, guns, and leather… it's all very fantastic!"

Sienna admitted to Access that getting the part of the Baroness down took hard work, even a little homework.

"I've got a rubber gun at home that looks so real. I'm learning how to spin it. I've had it in my car while driving, and I'm terrified I might be pulled over because it looks like a proper gun," Sienna added.

Rounding out the all-American heroes cast is Rachel Nichols from "Alias," playing Scarlett (cross-bow included), Marlon Wayans as paratrooper Ripcord, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje from "Lost," as Heavy Duty, and Said Taghmaoui of "Vantage Point" fame as Breaker.

On the Cobra side of the fight, Byung-Hun Lee will play Storm Shadow, Snake Eyes ninja nemesis, Arnold Vosloo from "The Mummy" will play the chameleon-like Zartan, Christopher Eccleston will play the evil chromed-domed Destro, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt from "Stop-Loss" has been cast as the leader of the evil Corba army, Cobra Commander.

The film is reportedly an origins story. It could explain why Destro has a chromed head and why Snake Eyes doesn't speak, among other outlandish details of "G.I. Joe" that the cartoon never explained.

"For people who know nothing about it, it'll make sense," Sommers told USA Today. "And to people who love this stuff, it'll show where they all came from."

As for the famous "G.I. Joe" catch phrase --"Now I know, and knowing is half the battle" — which was used in the PSA's that followed the 1980's cartoons, popping up in the 2009 film, a rep from Paramount told Access, "You’ll have to wait and see!"

Sandler Pal Popped for Pap Fight

Allen Covert, who has co-starred in over a dozen movies with Adam Sandler, was arrested on the set of his latest Sandler collaboration after he got into it with a photographer.

Covert was arrested by the LAPD at around 6:00 PM PT on the set of "Bedtime Stories." He was charged with battery and was eventually released.

We're told Covert approached the pap -- who was on the sidewalk outside the high school they were filming at -- argued with him, spat on him and tried to slap the camera out of hand. Covert was upset because he thought the photographer was filming his kid.

We're also told Sandler was on set at the time with his daughter. Guy Pearce and Courteney Cox-Arquette also star in the movie and were there as well and saw the whole thing go down.

A rep for Covert could not be located.

Priscilla Presley Victim of Phony Cosmetic Doc

TMZ has learned Priscilla Presley is the victim of a botched cosmetic procedure. What's worse -- it was at the hands of a gigolo who was sent to prison for perpetrating an injectable scam on Hollywood's elite.



Priscilla, whose face looks ... strange on "Dancing with the Stars," went to Dr. Daniel Serrano around 2003. Serrano was a good-looking doc from Argentina who hooked into Hollywood's social A-list and started giving them what he claimed were miracle injections that worked better than Botox.

In fact, Serrano was injecting industrial, low-grade silicone similar to what's used to lubricate auto parts in Argentina into the faces of these women. Several women, including Shawn King, Larry's wife, and Diane Richie, Lionel's wife at the time, held injection parties in their homes, with Serrano needling them with the non-FDA approved drug that he had smuggled in to the U.S. Shawn King has said the injections created a lump in her lip that made it difficult to speak and drink liquids. Serrano charged between $300 and $500 a pop.

But wait, it gets worse. Serrano wasn't even a licensed doc in the U.S. The injections caused lumps, paralysis and holes in the faces of some of the women (and some men) he injected.

Serrano, who was nicknamed Dr. Jiffy Lube, was indicted by the Feds for smuggling drugs, and the conspiracy and use of unapproved drugs. He was convicted, and last week he was released and is currently being investigated by federal immigration officials and could be deported.

BTW, Diane Richie was also indicted as an accomplice. She pled out and was placed on probation.

As for Priscilla -- who had no idea she was being injected with silicone -- we're told she's undergoing corrective work.

Miley Cyrus One Step Closer to Being Miley Cyrus



Destiny Hope Cyrus has taken another step towards legally changing her name to the one we all know her by anyway -- Miley.

As TMZ first reported, Miley's parents, Leticia and Billy Ray, filed name change papers on March 14. Part of the process is that the Cyrus fam needs to make four public notices referring to the name change in order for it to become legal.

Today, a notice was put in the Los Angeles Daily Journal, announcing that a hearing making the name change official will take place on May 1.

Lauren Conrad: I Don’t Feel ‘Betrayed’



Lauren Conrad is speaking out on claims that she was feeling “betrayed” by her friends Audrina Patridge and Brody Jenner — and insists, “I love them both.”

In a posting Thursday on her MySpace Celebrity blog, Conrad, 22, wrote:

Hey! I just wanted to take a moment to clear something up. I recently did an interview to talk about the show coming back on and what everyone had to look forward to. Unfortunately it was turned into yet another “poor me” story. The article itself is a nice one but it follows headlines that, in no way, represent my words or feelings. I do not feel betrayed by Audrina or Brody. I love them both and said nothing to contradict this. I understand that headlines sell magazines, but I value my friendships above magazine sales any day.

On a more positive note, I got to see some of the first episode yesterday and it looks amazing. I’m sooooooo excited for everyone to see Paris. Best wishes and I hope everyone tunes in Monday.

With The Hills premiering Monday night on MTV, Conrad also reveals a bit more about her family, her image and secrets behind making the show in, of all places, The Wall Street Journal.

In the profile, Conrad acknowledges that she and Jenner “have an odd relationship,” but it works, because “he’s a cute guy who’s okay with filming.”

As for LC’s image, Conrad’s publicist talks openly with the newspaper about building Conrad as a fashion “brand” — and about the need for Lauren to party responsibly when she’s hitting the hot clubs. “It’s the same conversation you’d have as a parent with a child,” said the rep. Conrad’s father Jim adds that they watch the blogs — and if they see her appearing tipsy in a photo, “We will tell her to ratchet it back.”

Britney Case Not Very Appealing





That's two strikes for the Yankee.

A three-judge panel tossed out an appeal of Britney Spears' conservatorship filed March 11 by New York-based attorney Jon Eardley, who persists in fighting for the songstress despite having been told he has no authority to work on her behalf.

Supposedly in collaboration with Sam Lutfi, Eardley first tried to have the Spears family drama removed to federal court, alleging Britney's civil rights had been violated because she never received notice of her father's intent to petition for control of her estate, but a judge ruled Eardley was out of line.

"Mr. Eardley fails to explain why he can bring this claim for her in the first instance. He cannot," U.S. District Judge Philip Gutierrez wrote in his decision. "Mr. Eardley had no authority to remove the case from state court. He is neither a party nor a defendant. While he claims to be Ms. Spears's attorney, the probate court...found that she was incapable of retaining her own counsel."

And although Eardley bolstered his appeal with a declaration from a UCLA law professor who agreed Britney was not properly notified before Jamie Spears was temporarily handed the keys to his daughter's estimated $100 million fortune, the appellate court determined the arrangement laid out in probate court was perfectly kosher.

"An order granting letters of temporary conservatorship is specifically excluded from those orders made appealable by the Probate Code," read the 2nd District Court of Appeal's decision.

L.A. Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz named Jamie and attorney Andrew Wallet coconservators of Britney's estate on Feb. 1, the day after she was admitted to UCLA Medical Center's neuropsychiatric ward for evaluation. Earlier this month, she extended the order until at least July 31.

George Clooney Immune to Labels



As if George Clooney would ever want to share what gives him that certain je ne sais quoi...

After WWD reported the circulation of an oddly worded, unverifiable email announcing the upcoming Italian launch of GC Exclusive, a line of Clooney-approved luxury clothing and accessories, the Oscar winner took care to ensure would-be shoppers that the announcement was about as real as Christy Turlington's fur coat.

"This is a hoax," the Michael Clayton star said in a statement released Monday by his rep. "I have no connection whatsoever with any clothing line bearing my name, and more specifically 'GC Exclusive by George Clooney.'"

First off, how dare they (whoever they are) suggest he spends any time whatsoever doing something other than acting, directing, raising money for Darfur or debunking the myth behind the man?

And, perhaps even more importantly, so sorry to all the ladies out there who were more than ready to coat themselves in Clooney this fall.

The NATIONAL ENQUIRER has learned that the 36-year-old actress recently tried to leave a Hollywood drugstore with make-up that she hadn't paid for, according to an employee at the store.

The Girl, Interrupted star was at the CVS Pharmacy on Cahuenga Boulevard recently, where she made several purchases.

"Winona had a bag full of stuff, but she set off the theft alarm when she left the store," said the store worker.

"When a security guard stopped her, he found makeup she had not paid for."

When she was asked about the make-up, a wide-eyed Winona insisted: "I don't know how that happened."

We Hope This Is True



The Sun is reporting that Amy Winehouse is going back to rehab.

Somehow we find that hard to believe!

This time, they say, she is set to return to treatment and get help abroad.

A source tells the paper: "Amy has admitted she needs to check into rehab again. There are too many temptations for her in the UK — people around her in London are making it impossible for her to stay clean for any length of time. Her management had considered flying her to a clinic in Israel but are now looking further afield. They are assessing a clinic in Cape Town in South Africa.

That would be nice.

Amy's last stint in rehab lasted just a few weeks.

It's gonna takes months and months to treat crack and heroin abuse! We wish her well.

It's nice to see celebrities giving back and helping to raise awareness and money for good causes. And it doesn't hurt for them that they get a little positive publicity in exchange!

Recently, Scarlet Johansson agreed to participate in an auction for Oxfam, where the lucky winner would be able to meet her at the Los Angeles premier of He's Just Not That Into You.

The auction made about $40,000.

Now, Oxfam, an agency whose mission is to "alleviate poverty and injustice by helping people learn skills and create lives", just finished another auction for charity.

This time, it was to win a chance to meet Kristin Davis at the red carpet premiere of the Sex and the City movie in New York.

So how much did the lucky winner pay?

The winning bid was made by a woman in Japan who paid $52,100 to go to the premiere! Thankfully, the entire amount of money will go to the international relief and development organization.

The prize also includes a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes and an on air meet and greet with Kristin.

Not sure, but would U pay that much just to meet Kristin Davis?

We hope the winner brings her camera along….and some panties!!!!!

Wrestling Kills



Yet another one bites the dust!

Chase Tatum, a former pro-wrestler battling an addiction to painkillers, was found dead in his home on Sunday after suffering an apparent accidental drug overdose, according to his father, Roy Tatum.

"He was in the process of getting his life back together," the elder Tatum said Monday. "He was confident he was going to turn things around, to live a normal life again without those painkillers."

Chase Tatum's wrestling career was unplanned and short-lived. He made his debut in 1999.

But his father advised his son against becoming a pro wrestler.

"How long can you last in that field. They go in with their eyes closed, think they'll make some quick money and then get out."

Chase Tatum retired from wrestling after about 2 1/2 years. His brief wrestling career left him with severe back problems but WITHOUT health insurance to pay for the surgery.

That sucks!

In addition to acting and wrestling, Chase Tatum also worked as a road manager and personal assistant for Outkast. He recently appeared in the comedy Who's Your Caddy? alongside rapper Big Boi of Outkast.

Wrestling is hazardous to your life, y'all.

Sources are claiming that the younger Spears sister is sporting some hardware on her ring finger.

A family insider reports, "She's got an engagement ring. She's been showing it off and talking about it."

An official wedding date has yet to be announced and the happy news has yet to be officially confirmed.

Britney's Back….and On Top!



As we mentioned last week, Britney Spears was set to appear in the CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother.

And, surprisingly enough, when it aired last night, the show received its highest ratings ever!

Even more surprising, the critics liked it!

The Associated Press stated, "Britney the Trainwreck showed how she can still be Britney the Performer. The 26-year-old pop star, who previously was on a 2006 episode of Will and Grace, appeared fresh-faced and relaxed, capably filling the small role."

The Daily News stated that for "those who hang on every one of Britney's career moves, this bold casting decision worked out. Spears proved she can act every bit as well as she can sing, and with some of the nuances she brought to the character, you'd almost swear she'd been there before."

Could this possibly be the comeback Britney and the rest of the world has been waiting for?

We sure hope so!
