Brit's Conservators Can Shut Down Sam

The conservators who were appointed to manage Britney's assets have broad authority, including changing the locks to her house and keeping out anyone they want -- we're guessin' that's Sam Lutfi.

The judge granted the conservators -- Jamie Spears and a lawyer co-conservators -- have the power to hire 24-hour security at her house, access her medical records and communicate with treating physicians.

They also have the power to make any decisions on her behalf, and can revoke any contracts she may have made recently -- which might include the new Mercedes she just bought.

Conservators Have Broad Powers

he judge in the hearing did not give the conservators power to make medical decisions on behalf of Britney, but that really is the upshot.

The conservators -- Jamie Spears and Andrew Wallet -- can communicate with Brit's doctors and access medical records.

In terms of managing Brit's estate, the function of Wallet -- a respected lawyer who has handled many similar matters -- is to ensure there is an independent voice in the management of her estate, and we're told that's something Jamie and Lynne are down with.

The effect of the order is that Sam Lutfi has, at least temporarily, been shut out of Britney's world. He will not be able to go to her home or the hospital, or have any other contact with her.

Judge to Sam -- Stay Away from Britney!

The judge in the hearing today has issued a restraining order against Sam Lutfi -- ordering him to stay away from Britney Spears.

The judge found that Lutfi has been harassing Britney. Thus the civil harassment restraining order.

This will effectively bar Lutfi from going to the hospital.

The restraining order is in effect for 22 days, but court observer and uber-attorney Goldie Schon tells TMZ that Brit's folks could turn it into a permanent order at the end of those 22 days.

Lawyer Showdown in Britney Case

Britney SpearsSources tell TMZ Britney's divorce lawyers and the lawyers representing the conservatorship may collide in a "last one standing" dispute.

We know Britney's divorce team at the law firm of Trope and Trope has been dealing with newly-exiled Sam Lutfi and believes he is well-meaning. Jamie Spears, the freshly appointed co-conservator, has made it clear he dislikes the Trope firm and wants them out of Britney's life -- in large part because of the firm's alliance with Sam.

Lutfi is furious at the commissioner who issued the various orders today and has been in touch with Trope and Trope numerous times this afternoon. Based on those conversations, the firm believes the orders defy Britney's wishes because she feels great ill will toward her dad.

So here's the scenario: It's possible Trope and Trope could go to court Monday at 1:30 PM PT and challenge the choice of conservator. If Jamie Spears is in it for the long haul, it's also possible one of his first orders of business will be to 86 Trope and Trope from Britney's life.

Britney Goes Ballistic in Psych Ward

Minutes ago, Britney Spears made two calls at the UCLA Psych Ward and went crazy on the phone after learning that her dad is now the conservator of her estate.Britney Spears

In a heavy British accent, a ballistic Brit screamed (about her parents), "I'm so sick of all of this they can have the goddamn house and stick it up their f**king asses. Actually, no they can't."

Brit, who sounded drugged up, was furious that her dad became a conservator of her estate. She was screaming at the top of her lungs, at times impossible to understand. At one point she screamed, "Nobody's taking my house. Who is my family?"

Britney said she did not want her parents near her home and at one point said she would go to court to fight them.

She is under the impression she's getting out of the hospital tonight.

Britney's Stay Will Be Extended

It's not a done deal, but expect that sometime tonight, papers will be signed at UCLA extending Britney Spears' stay at the psych ward -- by 14 days.

It's an internal process -- done without a court order. But we're told it will indeed happen, and that's not surprising given her mental health. As we first reported, Britney's been diagnosed with severe bipolar disorder.

The ward Britney is in is considered one of the best in the nation for the treatment she is receiving.

The Spice Girls to split again after Mel B and Mel C cut short tour after row

The Spice Girls are splitting for a second time and cutting short their comeback tour after a string of bust-ups fired by the two Mels.

Exhausted by the gruelling schedule, Melanie Brown and Melanie Chisholm told the other three girls: “We’ve had enough.”

Now the band are chopping six dates from the £100million tour, costing them millions in lost earnings and disappointing thousands of fans.

The final gig of the tour will now be in Toronto on February 26 and will probably be the last time they perform together.

A close source said: “It looks like the end. It took so long to get them together it’s unlikely to happen again soon, if ever. It’s very sad.”

Glossing over the axed dates, the girls said last night: “Really sorry if we didn’t get to see you this time round. We all have other commitments in our lives.

“But who knows what will happen? We’ve had an amazing time.”

The band reunited in June after seven years apart, unveiling plans to play dates on five continents.

They made a triumphant start in Vancouver two months ago and went on to pocket £10million each, playing to 500,000 fans in Europe and the US.

But as the strain of performing up to four nights a week took its toll, tensions mounted.

An insider said: “Tempers have been running high and there have been times when they’ve just lost it with each other.”

Matters came to a head this week when the band were presented with a new tour schedule.

Posh Spice Victoria Beckham, 33, Baby Emma Bunton, 32, and Ginger Geri Halliwell, 35, wanted to play gigs in Argentina, Australia, South Africa and China.

But Scary Mel B, 32 – mum of Angel, eight months, and Phoenix Chi, eight – and Sporty Mel C, 34, said they wanted out.

A source said: “Mel B wasn’t having any of it. She misses her husband and children and said she couldn’t go on. She’s also been flooded with US offers after her success on Dancing with Stars.

“Mel C agreed it was time to call it off. She was the least excited about the tour. She also feared it might jeopardise her solo career.

“The others wanted to go on, but couldn’t persuade the Mels. Without them, there was no point.”

POLLY HUDSON on how Spices lost the taste for nostalgia

THIS has literally been the worst week ever. We’ve endured the horror of Tweedy-Gate, the shock of Britney-Gate and now we’ve suddenly got Spice-Gate to contend with too. Sheesh!

I’m baffled as to why the Spice Girls have made this huge announcement that they’re splitting up.

Their reunion was all about nostalgia. They weren’t trying to be relevant again, they were just getting together – either for the fans, or for the money depending on who you believe/whether you’re thick or not – to give us all a good night out singing along to Wannabe. And they did.

I certainly never expected them to emerge with another album after the tour. I just assumed they’d slink off back to their mansions.

The unforgivable bit is they cancelled shows, letting down fans they insisted they were doing it for.

The girls laughed off rumours of bitching and bickering. Now it looks like they couldn’t stand to be together for a single second longer. Girl Power? Only when it suits them, it seems. Pah.

Katharine McPhee Weds

Katharine McPhee and actor Nick Cokas wed Saturday in Beverly Hills.

Approximately 300 guests – including a gospel choir – filled the Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church for the 45-minute service.

McPhee's bridesmaids wore floor-length pink dresses.

The flowers included pink, purple, peach and white roses as well as green hydrangea and pink cherry blossoms.

Rumer Willis, McPhee's costar in the upcoming film I Know What Boys Like, was in attendance.

McPhee, 23, and Cokas, 42 – who met in 2005 when they performed in a L.A. theater production of The Ghost and Mrs. Muir – have been dating for more than a year.

They got engaged last year.

The singer has always shrugged off their 19-year age difference.

"I love [older men]," she has said. "They're just wiser, and they're less about themselves and more about you."

Though McPhee was recently dropped from her music label, she may have other plans in store.

"I want to have, like, 15 babies," she told Stuff last year. "I've always wanted to be pregnant. One year for Halloween, I decided to be pregnant, so I got this nun costume, and I put a big belly under it. I showed my parents and said I want to go to school as a pregnant nun. My dad sat me down and said, 'Katharine, you can't!'"

Friends Mourn Heath Ledger in Second L.A. Service

Friends and celebrity colleagues – including Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Sienna Miller, Ellen DeGeneres and director Todd Haynes – gathered on the Sony lot in Los Angeles to remember Heath Ledger on Saturday, PEOPLE has confirmed.

The gathering included industry luminaries and those connected to CAA (the agency that represented Ledger), including Cruise and Holmes, who costarred with Michelle Williams on Dawson's Creek. It comes a week after relatives and close friends – including ex-girlfriend Naomi Watts – paid tribute to the 28-year-old actor at a smaller service at an L.A. cemetery.

Saturday's service began around noon on the lot, which is closed to the public. Attendees included Miller, Ledger's Casanova costar, and Shannyn Sossamon, who starred with Ledger in A Knight's Tale. Speakers included Haynes, who directed him in last year's Bob Dylan film I'm Not There.

Was Jumper the first time you met Hayden [Christensen]? Actually, I thought it was, but once we were filming, we realized that we had met briefly at a party in L.A. But it was just “Hi, nice to meet you.”

Winehouse Taken To The Hospital

This is actually good news!

Amy Winehouse was taken to the hospital this week.

The singer was suffering from dehydration and needed to be put on a drip to get fluids and essentials back in her system.

Wino's hospitalization was needed, her father says, because she had been vomiting a lot - one of the symptoms of withdrawal.

Withdrawal is good! It means Amy's not back on drugs, hopefully.

Mitch Winehouse said the star was moved to a hospital because her rehab facility did not have sufficient medical facilities.

"Everything is going according to plan and she's perfectly OK," Mr Winehouse told BBC radio station 1Xtra, adding that she was now back in the rehab clinic.

Nice to see Amy is sticking with her treatment!

Kirsten Dunst breakdown fears

Kirsten Dunst is on the "verge of a breakdown", it has been reported.

The 'Spider-Man' actress' "erratic behaviour" at Utah's Sundance Film Festival has raised fears for her mental health.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Kirsten is on the verge of a breakdown. She came late, left early and acted erratic at a Sundance event. One of her friends apologised, saying, 'She is not in a good place right now.' "

However, Kirsten's representative has dismissed reports the actress is spiralling out of control, insisting: "Kirsten is fine."

The 25-year-old star, who split from British rocker Johnny Borrell last year, has not been seen out in public for weeks.

In 2007, Kirsten sparked controversy by saying she believes the world would be a "better place" if more people smoked marijuana.

The 'Marie Antoinette' star said: "I drink moderately, I've tried drugs. I do like weed. I have a different outlook on marijuana than America does.

"I've never been a major smoker, but I think America's view on weed is ridiculous. I mean - are you kidding me? If everyone smoked weed, the world would be a better place."

Kevin Federline Worried, Hopeful For Britney Spears

Kevin Federline is “extremely worried” about Britney Spears and feels the psychiatric hospital is the best place for her right now, People reports.

Laying low since Britney was hospitalized again Thursday morning, Federline “doesn’t want her to get out until she’s made progress,” the source says. “This is obviously going to help her in the end - later, much later.”

“He’s worried. He doesn’t even know what’s going to happen next.”

Federline, 29, was not directly involved in the latest events, “but he was aware of what was happening,” says another source, a friend of K-Fed.

Sweeping Her Off Her FeetOne-Time Lovers

Kevin Federline and Britney Spears married in 2004, then split in 2006.

Unlike the first time Britney Spears was sent to the hospital, and she had them at her home, the kids were with Federline, who has sole custody.

“Kevin wants Britney to get better. He wants her to be in [Sean Preston and Jayden James’] lives. He wants them to have a loving relationship. He wants her to get healthy so she can be the mother they deserve,” says a friend.

This is the second trip to a hospital in a month for Spears.

In early January, she was forced into the hospital following a standoff with police involving sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1.

A court commissioner later stripped Spears of visitation rights.

A third source close to K-Fed says that getting medical help for Spears, 26, “has been planned for a long time. Her family is behind this.”

Britney: "Flight and Kidnap Risk"

Britney Spears' 72 hours are almost up, but she may want to hold off on packing her bags just yet—whether to leave the hospital or head for beyond.

While the 26-year-old is in the final throes of her 5150 hold at UCLA Medical Center—which would theoretically allow her release sometime between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. Sunday morning—a source close to the situation told E! News there is no more than "a 5 percent chance" she will check out of the hospital this weekend.

"The best place for Britney right now is where she is," the source said. "The longer she remains there, the better it is for her."

News that Spears may be prolonging her stay in the hospital's psych ward, where she has been undergoing a battery of mental evaluations since voluntarily checking into the facility in the early-morning hours Thursday, comes in the wake of confirmation that even if she's allowed to leave the hospital, she won't get far.

E! News has confirmed that during the emergency Friday afternoon hearing, in which the singer's father, Jamie Spears, and attorney Andrew Wallete were appointed temporary coconservatorship over decisions pertaining to the Blackout singer's estate and a restraining order was granted on behalf of Spears against manager-pal Sam Lutfi, court commissioner Reva Goetz said a free Spears had the potential to be either a "flight or kidnapping risk."

While neither Goetz nor attorneys for Spears mentioned in the hearing who they feared posed the possible risk of facilitating either a flight or kidnap situation, the source told E! News the Spears family was taking great precautions to ensure their daughter's safety.

"Britney will now be provided adequate security. She had been convinced in the past to do away with personal security by certain people in her life, and that was very dangerous. It was a possibly deadly situation."

The source also confirmed that the amped-up security measures were particularly in response to the kidnap risk, saying the real danger lay in what may happen if Spears leaves UCLA Medical Center without being in the proper state of mind, adding, "Should she be released too early, hypothetically someone could try to take her away."

As for how Spears is holding up in the hospital, the source told E! News the pop star was "ill and vulnerable" and that the family hoped she would remain in treatment as long as possible so as to prevent "another Cedars debacle."

Accusations roundly arose following Spears' previous hospitalization, which took place on Jan. 3 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, that the singer was prematurely released.

"This girl is getting the help she needs," the source said, while declining to state the singer's exact diagnosis. "It is very sad that this is even necessary."

Another sad yet apparently necessary action was taken Friday, when the Spears family went to court, something they were apparently loath to do.

"Everything has been chaos," the source told E! News, adding that Lynne and Jamie Spears were "together on everything."

"This was done very reluctantly, but it had to be done because of what has been done in terms of endangering her property, her health and her estate…They did not want to jeopardize her future as a mother. They wanted to make sure they were protecting this very vulnerable person and making sure she is safe. This is all very agonizing for the parents."

Slightly less agonizing, no doubt, was the decision to seek—and receive—a restraining order against Lutfi.

"There was significant and dangerous conduct that he exhibited," the source said. "It was not even a close call for the judge."

The order, which will be in effect for 22 days, effectively bars Lutfi from either going to Spears' home or visiting her at the hospital, for however long she remains there.

In what appears to be part of the Spears' family's attempt to completely extricate Lutfi from their daughter's life, the source told E! News that Britney's future with the Trope and Trope law firm, which has been representing the singer in her ongoing custody battle with Kevin Federline, is "uncertain."

In the past, the law firm has worked closely with Lutfi and counted him as an ally. A source previously confirmed to E! News that the manager was the go-between for all legal dealings between Spears and her attorneys.

Meanwhile, Trope and Trope, along with Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, are due back in a separate Los Angeles courtroom Monday, where a previously scheduled hearing in the custody battle is expected to take place.

Britney's Love-Hate Relationship with Dad

Britney Spears has expressed hatred towards her father -- that, we know. Yet sources say today she asked that both of her parents be at her bedside. And that could create problems for the Trope firm when they go to court tomorrow and ask Jamie be 86'd as conservator.

Britney is bipolar and has wild mood swings. She can love someone and hate them in the same hour. So just because she told Trope lawyers this weekend that she hates her dad -- it may not be enough to convince the Commish.

But here's what Trope may have going for it. Britney has expressed deep animus toward her dad for a long time and to many people. We know the Trope firm is attempting to put together an arsenal of witnesses who will try and convince the Commissioner that the hatred and distrust toward her dad is consistent over time.

Dogfight in Court Tomorrow Over Brit

TMZ has learned tomorrow is shaping up to be an all-out war in the Britney Spears conservatorship case. Sources say lawyers for Britney will try to convince the Commissioner that Britney "feels hatred" toward her dad, doesn't trust him and wants him removed as co-conservator.

Here's the way it's gone down this weekend. Yesterday, a lawyer for Trope and Trope (Brit's divorce/custody attorneys) went to UCLA to visit Britney. After being there a short time, one of the staff doctors asked the attorney to leave, because the co-conservators objected to the visit.

Sources say tomorrow, Trope and Trope will appear at the court hearing. Along with attorney Adam Streisand, who specializes in estate law, and ask that both co-conservators be removed. They will argue that the appointment of Jamie in particular is inappropriate given Britney's bitter feelings toward him and that Britney wants him out.

On Friday, the Commish appointed Jamie Spears and attorney Andrew Wallet as co-conservators. Trope lawyers and Streisand will ask that both conservators be replaced.

Sources say the Trope firm will not object to a conservatorship for Britney, but they'll ask that a different conservator be appointed. We're told the Trope lawyers and Streisand have not finalized who they want to replace the current conservators.

Every woman has an ugly day. Do you? I think we’re humans. All girls feel like a “nottie” some days—like someone who isn’t turning heads. That’s just part of life. I just get a facial or a massage. Pampering yourself gets you back into “hottie”-ness.

I think it would be better just to be rich, because then you don’t have to deal with anything else. You can just have everything you want and not have to deal with the press and people following you. But being rich doesn’t even matter, either. I have both, and it doesn’t even make any difference. I could be happy if I had nothing. So it’s not, it’s not really about money to me.”

* Sexist Man Alive — Brad or Matt Damon: "I'm going with the first one."
* On her tech savvy: "As Brad knows, I don't really know how to turn on a computer."
* On her biggest passion: "I love being a mom, and I think that's my big passion: being with my family."

Growing family, perhaps? Heh. As for not being able to turn on a computer, I guess she's just not down to embrace her inner geek.

Drew and Justin Are Pea Coat Twinsies

I'm changing my stance on Drew Barrymore and Justin Long. Ever since they got together I haven't really been able to put my finger on why, but they've sort of bugged me. But after admitting that it's mostly just sweet that they seem totally smitten, this video of the couple making their way through JFK over the weekend totally won me over. They seem so good-natured and happy, plus anyone who has a good sense of humor about being followed through the airport is impressive. What do you think, am I just the last one to get on board the Barrymore-Long train? Or does their constant kissy face still bug you a little?

Amy And Her "Beehives" Briefly Steps Out of Rehab to Get Into the Grammys

After a rough week including a trip to the hospital to deal with the side effects of withdrawal, Amy Winehouse left rehab today for a meeting with the US Embassy in London to discuss her travel visa. Amy was hoping she would be allowed to attend this weekend's Grammy Awards and it looks like she got some good news. Officials will let her make the trip as long as she goes with a chaperon and returns to rehab once she gets back to the UK. Going to the awards will probably be great for Amy's career, but do you think it's a good idea for Amy to leave rehab for the Grammys?

Lindsay's New Boy Has It All Worked Out With Ali & Dina

Lindsay Lohan spent her weekend around LA shopping for food/clothes, wearing sunglasses/leggings (broken record), you know, the us(ual). Ali's still tagging along for some quality sister time and it turns out she's taken on the role of matchmaker too. LL's supposed new boyfriend Jeremy Greene gave an interview to his local Maine paper about how he got involved with the Lohan clan, Ali's text messages about Lindsay, and his plans to be on Dina's reality show. Seriously. He said about Lindsay, "I can neither confirm nor deny it...I'm not saying I'm Lindsay's boyfriend -- I'm not saying that at all. We're just friends. You'll have to watch the E! network and find out what happens with this." Lovely. He also said that while filming started in Long Island, he will be living with the Lohan family while they film living in Vegas soon. Sounds like we'll be seeing more of this guy whether or not Lindsay really likes him, perhaps even in our living rooms on Dina's ridiculous show.

Angie Gets Recognized For Her Mighty Heart

Angelina Jolie kept that maybe baby bump covered up with a loose shirt and skirt combo as she picked up her award for Outstanding Performance of the Year at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Saturday. Between Brad's facial hair and Angie's outfit, these aren't our favorite photos of the usually polished couple, but even Hollywood's most beautiful people are entitled to their bad days. Clint Eastwood presented Angie with the award for A Mighty Heart, and she made it clear that these two developed a close bond on the set of The Changeling. She said,

"Clint Eastwood? Awwww! Don't get me started. I could talk forever about him. I could turn the whole evening into a Clint Eastwood evening. ... I think he's just a genuinely great guy. He's nice to everybody on set."

Clint's most recent movies have gotten a lot of Oscar buzz, so maybe we can expect to see even more nominations and awards for Angelina next year.

Brooke Is Still Parading Her Beauty in the Magazines

Brooke Shields has been busy hitting up Fashion Week and promoting Lipstick Jungle, but she found the time to get fun, flirty, and a little sporty to do a photoshoot for Parade Magazine. In this week's issue, Brooke gets into the Super Bowl spirit but she's still looking as girly as ever. Brooke still feels young at heart, and in the article she talks about growing up after making her mark as one of Hollywood's most famous PYTs. Here are highlights:

* On aging: “I’ll tell you what’s really scary. I have to film a nude scene tomorrow. I don’t want to use a body double, but I’m definitely going to get a spray tan right after lunch!"

* On feeling young: “It’s so odd. In Hollywood, I was always the youngest person, and now I’m not. I’m just coming to terms with it. My husband [screenwriter Chris Henchy] laughs at me. Sometimes I’ll read a part and identify with the material, and I’ll say, ‘Oh, honey, I really like this.’ He’ll look at me like I’m crazy and ask, ‘What’s wrong with you? You’re not in your 20s. You seriously think you can walk in there and get this role? It’s going to a 24-year-old.’ “So much of my success in the past was based on my looks. It didn’t feel like it had anything to do with me. I wasn’t exactly doing The Seagull or Anne Frank. The ceiling was pretty low for me, and I went along with it. But being famous for having eyebrows seemed silly to me even then.”

* On life in general: “I’m really proud of my kids, I’m excited about my job, and my marriage is not suffering. It’s not easy, but it’s not falling apart. This is the first time in my life that everything is exactly the way I want it to be.”

Love that Brooke is still feeling like a 20-something, even though we think she has nothing to worry about as far as aging goes. Plus, with her brand new show, Brooke can make her mark on Hollywood all over again.

Britney Spears: Father's Control is "Causing Her Even More Stress"

At a hearing concerning who has control over Britney Spears' medical, legal, and financial decisions, attorneys for her father, Jamie, argued that he should remain as her temporary conservator.

"Mr. Spears is here because his daughter is in great distress," attorney Jeryll Cohen told the court. "He's trying to get her better. In the meantime, while she is in great distress, she needs him to watch over her assets."

Cohen said that she has not been able to serve Britney's friend Sam Lutfi with a restraining order issued on Friday. "Late last night when we learned of his location, we sent out our process server, but Lutfi refused to answer the door," Cohen told the court.

Cohen said that Lutfi has spoken to Britney on the phone, a violation of the court's orders.

Britney's attorney maintained that Jamie should be removed as co-conservator because his daughter does not trust him.

"She has expressed a very strong desire that her father not be appointed conservator," attorney Adam Streisand said. "He has been estranged from her and this is causing her even more stress." Streisand, who admitted he has been denied access" to Britney, would not say how he has been retained.

Streisand said Britney wants the Northern Bank Trust and Howard Grossman, her business manager, to act as conservators.

"Ms. Spears' estate consists of $40 million in assets and is currently undergoing a $17 million IRS audit," Streisand said. "It's a $17 million audit against Jive records," Streisand later told Us.

Following his statement, the judge asked Streisand to leave the courtroom. "I think the law should presume she has capacity until proven otherwise," Streisand told Us. "Britney got in touch with me. I can't go into specifics."

"I was referred to her through the Trope and Trope firm," Streisand told Us. Sorrell Trope, of the firm Trope and Trope, is usually Britney's attorney but Streisand told the press that Jamie and attorney Andrew Wallet, the co-conservator, wanted Trope off of Britney's ongoing custody case.

The next step, Streisand said, would be a hearing on whether she lacks capacity to retain an attorney.

On Friday, Jamie won temporary legal control over his daughter. He was also granted full control of her residence and can legally remove anyone who is staying there.

Wallet was named co-conservator. A court creates a conservatorship when it concludes a person no longer can care for themselves or their personal and financial affairs.

An insider told Us that it may be an uphill battle for Britney's attorney "because what child does get along with their parents when they are locked in the psych ward?"

Britney has been involuntarily hospitalized since early Thursday morning at the UCLA Medical Center. She is expected to be there for two more weeks while receiving treatment for severe bipolar disorder.

Sam Lutfi Banned From Contacting Britney Spears, Her Dad Stays In Charge

Britney Spears’ former manager, Sam Lutfi, has been banned from contacting the singer.

The decision follows Jamie Spears' attorney, Jeryll Cohen, telling a Los Angeles court they have been unable to serve Lutfi with the restraining order issued on Friday. Cohen said Britney and Lutfi had been in contact over the phone despite the court’s orders.

The commissioner, Reva Goetz, also ruled the singer’s father will remain in control of Britney, as a co-conservator. Jamie and attorney Andrew Wallet will rule over decisions relating to her legal, financial and medical affairs until February 14th. However, Goetz denied a request by the co-conservators to fire Britney’s custody lawyers, Trope and Trope.

Earlier in the case, another attorney, Adam Streisand, who claimed to be representing Britney, argued Britney would like the power to choose her own conservator. He asked that the court remove Jamie because Britney is estranged from her father. His request was denied after Goetz said Britney Spears lacked the capacity to hire a new attorney. On Valentine’s Day, Britney’s mental competence to hire a new attorney will be determined.

After the case, Los Angeles County Superior Court Public Information Officer, Allan Parachini told the press, “The temporary conservatorship involving Ms. Spears has been extended until a hearing on February 14. A court appointed physician was assigned to evaluate her competency. That physician's report is due at the court on February 13. We will have the papers on the conservatorship later today and a provision that may interest you is she is ordered to have no contact whatsoever, direct or indirect, by phone, email, or text message with Sam Lutfi. Her father did not speak at the hearing. There is no change at all in the conservators. As you could see Mr. Streisand left the court. The commissioner did not feel that Mr. Streisand had standing to represent Ms. Spears."

Jamie declined comment as he left the court.

Britney has been involuntarily hospitalized since early Thursday morning. She is expected to spend another two weeks in hospital.

Brandy's Mom: Kim Kardashian Abused My Credit Card

R&B singer Brandy Norwood's mother filed a lawsuit Monday R&B singer Brandy Norwood's mother filed a lawsuit Monday against Kim Kardashian accusing her of running up more than $120,000 in credit card charges without permission.

The suit, which also names Kardashian's siblings Khloe, Kourtney and Robert Jr., alleges they ran up the charges on the mother's card while Kim worked as Brandy Norwood's stylist in 2006 and 2007. It seeks the return of the money plus 10 percent interest.

Kim Kardashian denied the allegations, telling PEOPLE she and her siblings had Norwood's permission to make the purchases.

"We have her signature on all items," Kardashian says.

In the lawsuit, Norwood's mother, Sonja Norwood, who is also her manager, alleges Kim Kardashian had only been authorized in 2004 to make one purchase on the Norwood American Express card in Kim's then-capacity as a stylist for Brandy (Brandy's brother, Ray J, also appeared in the infamous sex tape with Kim).

But later, Kardashian, now starring in the E! reality show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, made unauthorized purchases and passed on Norwood's card number to her siblings, who also then made unauthorized purchases, including for items in two Kardashian family-owned clothing stores, Dash and Smooch, for a total of $120,636.

A Sorrowful Return to Australia for Heath Ledger's Family

Heath Ledger's family made a sad return to Australia, heading toward their hometown for a private funeral for the actor, according to an Australian news report.

The family – including his father Kim, mother Sally, and elder sister, Kate – arrived in Brisbane on Tuesday morning local time after a flight from Los Angeles, according to the Australian Associated Press.

Their arrival comes two weeks after the death of Ledger, whose body was found in his Manhattan apartment. No cause of death has been determined. Authorities are awaiting the results of a toxicology report.

The family, which was expected to continue to their hometown of Perth, had spent more than a week in Los Angeles attending memorial services for the actor.

On Saturday, friends and celebrity colleagues – including Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Sienna Miller, Ellen DeGeneres and director Todd Haynes – gathered on the Sony lot in Culver City to remember Ledger.

The memorial came a week after relatives and close friends paid tribute to the 28-year-old actor at a smaller service at an L.A. cemetery.

According to Australian newspaper reports, Ledger is expected to be buried in a family plot with two of his grandparents at Perth's Karrakatta Cemetery.

John Ritter's Widow On Why She's Suing For $67 Million Over His Death

Actor John Ritter died unexpectedly in 2003 on his daughter Stella’s fifth birthday, and now his widow is fighting in court, adamant that John did not have to die.

Ritter’s widow, actress Amy Yasbeck, shares her story, on the eve of jury selection in the case.

“I mouthed to him as they were wheeling him to surgery with this look like, ‘Sorry I’m ruining Stella's birthday face, and I said, ‘I love you!’ — and that is the last time I saw him until I saw him dead after he died. I loved him — bigger picture, the world loved him and I’m not gonna let this go by and not have the real thing come out of it.”

Yasbeck shared every intimate detail with “Today’s” Meredith Vieira.

Complaining of chest pains and nausea, John was rushed on September 11, 2003 to Saint Joseph’s hospital.

The ER doctor ordered an X-Ray that never took place.

Around four hours later, the beloved actor was dead.

“I heard code blue and the crash cart was going and I was like, ‘What the hell is going on!’” Yasbeck recounted. “It was very scary and the doctor came to tell me it was an aortic dissection that I had never heard of.”

The hospital admitted misdiagnosing Ritter and settled with Yasbeck for just over $9 million.

Now, Amy’s original $67 million lawsuit, an amount she claims her husband would have earned over his lifetime, continues, specifically targeting the ER’s cardiologist and a radiologist who administered a body scan of Ritter, two years prior to his death.

Both doctors admit no wrongdoing.

“There are some people that are saying isn’t about John as much as it is about greed,” Vieira asked Yasbeck.

“I say that’s not what the trial is about and I know the money, if there is money to be made, it will start the John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health,” Yasbeck said. “There were opportunities to save John. John didn’t have to die.”

Madonna's second wedding

The 'Hung Up' singer, who married Guy in 2000, is planning a star-studded summer ceremony to reaffirm her commitment to the film director. The couple will also exchange eternity rings.

Kylie Minogue back with Olivier

Kylie Minogue has reunited with ex-lover Olivier Martinez.

Kylie, who split from the French actor last year following reports he was unfaithful, enjoyed two romantic days with Olivier in Paris last week and is thrilled the pair are giving their relationship another chance.

A source said: "Kylie always said Olivier was the love of her life. They looked so happy to be back together as they strolled along the banks of the river Seine. They were pouring their hearts out to each other and looked very intimate and comfortable."

The pair got back together after Olivier agreed to a "life plan" which includes marriage and children.

A friend of Kylie's said: "Olivier has agreed to try for a baby. That was always the stumbling block in their relationship.

"A month ago, a mutual Parisian friend passed a message on to Kylie that Olivier deeply regretted the break-up. Two weeks later, Olivier called her late one night and that was their first conversation in almost a year.

"Olivier has told her he is ready to start a family, to marry her and to settle down."

Kylie arrived at Olivier's Paris apartment on January 27 and the pair spent hours talking about their relationship before they both walked to her hotel on the Left Bank.

The following day, the couple walked the actor's dog Sheba, visited the Yves St Laurent boutique and enjoyed drinks at the Cafe de Flore.

The pair dated for four years and Olivier supported Kylie throughout her breast cancer battle.

Olivier's family are said to be delighted Kylie has been spending time with the actor.

Avril Cancels Auditions!

Avril Lavigne is doing the right thing!

After PerezHilton.com exposed the star's shoddy treatment of her employees, it seems like she's doing something about it.

The dance community was set to boycott the singer and "songwriter" for offering to pay backup dancers below industry rate on her upcoming tour.

Now, the Dancer's Alliance just posted this update Monday night, saying:

"As of February 4th, 10:30pm Avril's management has canceled the audition tomorrow and has opened up a new conversation with the agencies. Thanks for everyone's support on this issue."

Stand up for your rights, dancers!

Demand what you are worth.

********************************************************************************
****************************************

Boycotting Avril

There's some ill will against Avril Lavigne these days, and it's not coming from our direction.

Dancers in the Hollywood community are circulating an email amongst themselves, urging each other to boycott auditions for the singer and "songwriter"'s upcoming tour.

Why?

Because Avril is paying below industry standards!

Shady. Shady. Shady.

This is the email making the rounds:

"There will be an Avril Lavigne audition happening on Tuesday, February 5th that we are very concerned about. The tour's weekly rate is $1,250.00 inclusive of agency fee…after agency commission that would be $1,125.00 to you before taxes. Management has offered no additional perdiem and no plus agency fee, which is standard in our industry. We have expressed our concerns to Avril's management but they have decided to move forward regardless.

Our recommendation is that our clients and all dancers in the city spread the word to friends, fellow dancers, dance schools, etc. emphasizing how inappropriate these rates are. Hopefully your actions can send a message to management that the rates are unacceptable for an artist of this calibre and that they cannot hire professional dancers for these fees."

Update:

Lavinge's publicist tells us, "We have been told that the rates for the dancers are within the industry standard.

Avril prides herself in treating everyone on the tour with the utmost respect & consideration and pays them well within the industry standard."

Update #2:

A dance industry insider is denying Avril's claims.

They tell us, "There is an affiliation called Dancer's Alliance which is an organization of dancer's who promote the standardization of rates and working conditions for dancers. These standards are then promoted and fought for by the respective dance talent agencies. Although there are not Dancer's Alliance minimums for tours, here is a breakdown of the MINIMUMS for dancer's dancing with an artist for any given show. Tour weekly rates are negotiated based on several factors but this clearly outlines how low their rates are.

Rehearsals:
$175 + agency fees / 4 hours
$250 + agency fees / 8 hours

Shows:
$500 + agency fees / show

Travel:
$150 + agency fees / travel day

Per Diem:
$35 / day domestic

Keep in mind these are minimum rates that pretty much all major artists support. Avril's tour will average approximately 4 shows a week. At the current proposed rate that would be about $281/show after the 10% agency fees. The fact that her publicist is stating they are within industry standards is highly uninformed."

Court docs: Spears controlled by manager

LOS ANGELES - A restraining order against the man who's been at Britney Spears' side during her downward spiral portrays him as a Svengali figure who held her a virtual hostage in her home, drugged her, took over her finances and controlled the ravenous paparazzi "like a general."

The order against 33-year-old Sam Lutfi was based on a lengthy declaration from Spears' mother, Lynne, who says they met in October 2007, when he "essentially moved into Britney's home and has purported to take control of her life, home and finances."

Lynne Spears' account of a long, chaotic night at Britney's home depicted a drugged and confused pop star being led around by Lutfi, who was setting up pictures for the paparazzi even as she was spinning out of control.

The documents released by the court Tuesday ordered Lutfi to stay away from Spears, her homes, her parents and siblings' homes and the hospital where she is confined for psychiatric evaluation.

On Monday, Lutfi told The Associated Press in a text message: "I have no problems with anyone writing anything negative against me. My image is not of concern, hers is." He has not responded to further inquiry.

Lynne Spears said in the order that Lutfi "drugged Britney, he has cut Britney's home phone lines and removed her cell phone chargers. He yells at her. He claims to control everything — Britney's business manager, her attorneys and the security guards at the gate."

Much of the 6-page declaration centers on the night of Jan. 28, just a few days before Spears was whisked by police and ambulance to a hospital psychiatric ward, where she remained Tuesday night. Her mother outlined increasingly bizarre behavior through the night, and said her daughter asked at one point, "When do I get to see my babies?" to which Lutfi answered, "Wednesday."

Spears has been in court with ex-husband Kevin Federline over custody of their two small children, 1-year-old Jayden James and 2-year-old Sean Preston. She lost visitation rights last month after refusing to hand them back over to their father.

Lynne Spears described a harrowing night that stretched into the wee hours when she, her husband and a friend went to Britney's home because they'd heard Britney was crying after a fight with Lutfi. Once inside, Lynne Spears said she was told by Lutfi that her daughter didn't want anyone but her in the house and she was afraid to see her father.

Lynne Spears also said there were several photoggraphers present, who deferred to Lutfi. "The paparazzi reported to Sam and addressed him with great respect," she said. "They treated him like a general."

She said during the evening, "Sam had told Britney she was an unfit mother, a piece of trash and a whore, that she cares more about Adnan (Ghalib), her current boyfriend, than she cares about her kids and that she does not deserve her kids."

It was unclear how Lynne Spears knew details of the fight.

She said at one point, Lutfi told her, "You'd better learn that I control everything," and said he was the one giving Britney her medications and, "he told me if he weren't in the house to give Britney her medicine, she would kill herself."

She also alleged that Lutfi threatened her. "Then he said to me, 'If you try to get rid of me, she'll be dead and I'll piss on her grave.'"

Throughout the night, she said Britney continued to ask to see her children.

"What do I have to do to see them?" her mother quoted her as saying. "Sam responded, 'Take the pills I tell you to take.' Britney said, 'I don't like the pills and I don't like the psychiatrist. Can't I see another psychiatrist so I can see my babies?'"

At that point, Lynne Spears said, "Sam responded, 'If I told you to take 10 pills a day, you should do what I tell you to see your babies."

She said one time Lutfi raised his voice and said "Why don't you get back with Kevin (Federline)." Britney then said, "I'll do anything to get them back."

Lynne Spears described various medications in the house and said Lutfi told her he ground them up and put them in Britney's food to keep her quiet. "He told us that the doctor who is treating her now is trying to get her into a sleep-induced coma so that they could then give her drugs to heal her brain."

Late that same evening, she said Britney decided she needed to go to the drug store for lipsticks. Before they left the house, Lutfi took Britney upstairs and said he gave her something "to make her more lighthearted, happy and fun."

At the store, she said chaos ensued when Britney's credit card did not work and she started speaking with a British accent. The manager offered to let them leave by a side entrance to elude the photographers, but she said Lutfi insisted they leave through the front door, then put his arms around Britney and Lynne so the paparazzi could take pictures.

A judge has put Britney Spears' father in control of her personal and financial affairs until Feb. 14 while she is evaluated. The singer's child custody case, meanwhile, has been continued until Feb. 19.
