Jon Stewart Jokes About Angelina Jolie

During one of his monologues, host Jon Stewart poked fun of pregnant Angelina Jolie.

He said, “Earlier, I mentioned there were two very famous quite pregnant actresses here tonight. Actually, I was incorrect. I’ve become aware that there’s a third. Jessica Alba is pregnant, Cate Blanchett is pregnant and Nicole Kidman is pregnant.” (Nic skipped out on the ceremony–but was there was on the merlot carpet.)

Continuing his joke, Jon gave out an imaginary Oscar: “The baby goes to…. (drumroll) Angelina Jolie. On my god, Angelina Jolie. I’m just stunned. It goes to Angelina Jolie. That’s terrific. Obviously Angelina couldn’t be with us tonight–it’s tough to get 17 babysitters on Oscars night. I’ll accept this baby on her behalf.”

Britney Visits Her Babies Again!

While the paparazzi were sleeping off their Oscar hangovers, Tater Tot and Small Fry quietly saw their mom again Monday morning.

Britney was once again allowed to visit with her two young sons. This is the second visit within three days for Brit Brit and the kids. Before that, Spears hadn't seen her babies since the beginning of January.

Making up for lost time!

A source told OK! magazine that "It went very well. The boys are really happy to see their mom."

Britney's visit lasted from approximately 9am to Noon PT.

Even K-Fed's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, was optimistic about the visits, saying "These visitations with the boys will help to normalize the family environment. Kevin has always been rooting for Britney to regain visitation… and if these visits go well, they will ramp up over time."

Spear's camp is hoping to get visitation up to three times a week. Joining Britney at the visits are her father, Jamie Spears, Brit's psychologist, one of K-Fed's bodyguards, and the court-appointed monitor and a lawyer representing the conservatorship.

The next hearing for the ongoing custody battle is set to take place on April 9th.

Age ain't nothing but a number!

Lisa Marie Presley just turned 40…and she's about to have another child.

New reports are surfacing that Elvis' daughter is pregnant with her third child.

This will be the first child with her fourth husband, musician Michael Lockwood.

Thank God she didn't have kids with hubby #3, Nicolas Cage, or even worse, hubby #2, Michael Jackson.

Presley already has two teenage kids, model Riley Keough and lesser known Benjamin Keough, both with her first husband, Danny Keough.

That's a lot of numbers!

When asked for comments, a spokesperson for Presley just stated Lisa "is not one to comment on her personal life."

With her mother, Priscilla, set to appear on Dancing with the Stars, seems little Lisa needs something to get the attention back on her!

Wills & Kate: Cooling Off

Take it for what it's worth, but….

The News of the World is reporting that Prince William and his girlfriend, Kate Middleton, have a secret agreement in which they will have little contact throughout the next year, while he concentrates on his military training.

A source claims William may be proposing in 2009 when he becomes a full-time royal.

Friends of Kate, however, say she is secretly worried Prince W is trying to cool things off.

Blah blah blah blah blah.

"Kate is prepared to wait for William—there is no question of that," a pal says. "But she's concerned he's trying to loosen the relationship. After all she has put five years hard work into it and taking the pressure that comes with being his girlfriend."

The pair have hardly seen each other in 2008. Due to his military training, Prince William is usually only free on weekends, and just recently, he chose to hang out with his friends surfing in Newquay, rather than spending time with Kate.

Prince W is currently stationed in North Yorkshire while in training. In June 2008, he will join the Royal Navy and will probably by abroad for several weeks at a time. Then in 2009 he begins training on his constitutional duties.

According to reports, "William has told Kate if they can survive this long stint apart then he'll propose to her. The pressure will then be on to get married from next year."

Poor Kate. The price she must pay to be a royal in waiting!

Headline of the Week Weak

Jennifer Aniston puts her eggs on ice

Angelina Jolie may have secured the headlines over the weekend by finally revealing her much buzzed about baby bump, but Brad Pitt’s former ladylove, Jennifer Aniston, quietly made preparations for her own brood. The 39-year-old isn’t pregnant yet, but Star reports she’s put her eggs on ice until Mr. Right comes along.

“It was a really smart move, because it buys (Jen) a few years to figure it all out,” an insider told the magazine. “The pressure has lifted.”

The insider claims Jennifer could postpone having her first baby until she turns 45, and with ample resources and plenty of stamina, the actress isn’t worried about the wait. “She has loads of energy. And she’s so rich that she could just hire five nannies!”

Before making the decision to freeze her eggs, Jennifer considered other options, according to another Star source. “Her friend Sheryl Crow turned her on to the idea of adopting, but in her heart Jen would like to have her own child. She just needs the right man — someone she can trust.”

Jennifer’s rep told Star the story was untrue, but the source countered, insisting Jen would use the frozen eggs if she had any trouble conceiving naturally.

“(Jen’s) absolutely doing the right thing. She’s giving herself a big break from the intense pressure to find Mr. Right and have kids. She’s in a good place now.”

The Return Of Lestat!

Attention you blood sucking lovers (and we're not just talking about the gays)!

Ann Rice has had a change of heart and will write one more Vampire Chronicles book! Just one more.

About four years ago, an atheist Rice found God and was "born again." At that point, she vowed to abandon her sinister stories and write only of the Lord.

Why is she going back on her word?

The Queen of the Damned author justifies her decision by saying the book will have a definite Christian framework and a focus on the theme of redemption.

In other words, it's gonna suck - and not in a good way!

The final vampire novel will again involve the popular character Lestat (a.k.a the hottest vampire in lit) and a fictional organization known as the Talamaska that is responsible for investigating the supernatural. As Rice did, Lestat will be wrestling with the existence of God throughout the story. She says, "I don't see it as a violation of my promise, because I won't be writing about vampires in the same way."

Rice has already written two novels chronicling Jesus Christ's life. She plans to write a third installment in that series before sitting down to pen the final vampire book. So, don't expect to see last Chronicles book for a few years!

Aguilera Gets Diva Over Poor Magazine Sales

Christina Aguilera is said to be so fuming about the lack of interest in her recent People magazine cover that she has fired her day-to-day manager, her PR firm (BWR) and an assistant.

The cover, featuring 5-week old son Max Liron, has apparently only sold about 1.3 million copies, less than their usual selling amount.

Maybe if Christina was married to another celeb, there might have been more interest.

The mag paid Aguilera over $1 million for the use of those photos.

According to reports, a source said, “She went crazy and had a massive tantrum. It was astonishing. She was absolutely furious and blamed her staff for the way everything had been handled. She decided BWR had to go, then gave her day-to-day manager and one of her assistants their marching orders too.”

Jennifer Lopez and hubby Skeletor, though, are expected to receive close to $5 million for photos of them with their newborn twins. Wonder if that $5 million investment will pay off? Or will Jen be firing her people as well?

Katie Holmes: Tom & Suri are My Life

On a country she’s dreamed of visiting
:I would like to go back to China. I’ve been to Shanghai and loved it.

On her idea of heaven
:Falling in love with Tom and our daughter. I’m such a lucky woman. Sometimes I feel like I’m dreaming.

On who she’d want to get stuck in an elevator with
: Tom and Suri.

On describing Tom
: He’s just amazing. He’s kind, generous, smart, he’s Tom Cruise - he’s the most artistic man I’ve ever met. He makes me laugh like I’ve never laughed. He’s made me feel joy like I never have before. There are so many things. He’s the most wonderful human being I know.

On if she wants more children
: Yes, we would, but not just yet.

On how motherhood changed her: My life feels so more enriched since becoming a mum. I was so into myself before I had children because I had no one else to be into. I just had to take care of me. How can you not be? It is different becoming a mother, it’s all about Suri now.

Wrapping the Oscar Up

Okay ... so the Oscars ... all in all, I think it turned out to be a pretty good show. I wasn't wowed but I also wasn't bored to tears either. There were a few things about the show that didn't sit well with me (I hated that they changed the traditional order of award presentations, I was pretty disgusted that they left Brad Renfro out of the Memoriam montage and I thought Amy Adams' performance was totally lame, especially compared to the other performances) but, again, it was an OK show. But, before we get to the show itself, let's take a look at some of the folks on the red carpet:

By and large, I felt that the fugness was kept to a minimum ... so much so that no one really comes to mind. A lot of folks thought that Tilda Swinton's dress was nast but I didn't mind it so much. Yes, it looked a bit like it came from the Glad collection but I've seen way worse and, to be honest, I thought the off the shoulder dress looked nice on her. Katherine Heigl looked amazing ... her classic Hollywood glam look really worked for her. As usual, the dudes looked good in their tuxes but it's always impossible to distinguish one designer tuxedo from the next. Meh. [Source]

As for the show itself, I thought that Jon Stewart really held his own as host. He managed to pull off a few funny little quips ... my fave of the night was when he praised Cate Blanchett for her acting prowess, jokingly revealing that she even played the pit bull in No Country for Old Men. There seemed to be a lot of video montages in the show which, of course, looks like they were prepared for the chance that the Writer's Strike might still be in effect come Oscar night ... and I wasn't really thrilled at all by any of the Best Song performances ... but a lot of my picks ended up winning awards so I guess that made up for the things about the show that I didn't particularly care for:

Most of the drama at Sunday night's Oscars was over long before the golden guys were handed out. "Tonight, welcome to the makeup sex," said host Jon Stewart, referring to the recent settlement of the Hollywood writers strike, which allowed the 80th annual Academy Awards to unfold with the usual glitz and glamour. For a change, the ceremony felt low-key and relatively clutter-free, at least for an Oscar broadcast. Blame it on the lack of post-strike preparation time -- or, rather, thank the strike for reducing the number of time-fillers. It was a big night for "No Country for Old Men," which garnered three awards for Joel and Ethan Coen (best picture, director and adapted screenplay) and a best supporting actor win for Javier Bardem as the horrible-hairdo villain of the stark crime drama. As widely predicted, Daniel Day-Lewis struck precious ######l as best actor for playing a ruthless oilman in "There Will Be Blood." And when Marion Cotillard won best actress for her passionate Edith Piaf in "La Vie en Rose," she summed up the strife-free mood of the night by saying, "Thank you, life, thank you, love." With the strike now history, the stars happily showed up on the red carpet, among them fresh faces like nominees Ellen Page and Saoirse Ronan ... Tackling his second time as host, Stewart opened the show with simple, crisp string of jokes that relied on helpings of his trademark political humor. Tweaking the best picture nominees for their bleak ###### this year, he singled out "Juno" by cracking, "All I can say is thank God for teen pregnancy." Then he let fly with the presidential campaign jabs. Referring to Christie's role in "Away from Her" as a woman with who forgets her own husband, he said, "Hillary Clinton called it the feel-good movie of the year." He also unleashed a dig at John McCain, joking that Oscar is mega_shok.gif, "which automatically makes him the front-runner for the Republican nomination." Overall, the fake news anchor delivered a pretty good fake "Daily Show." Stewart's other best bits included a dig at the nomination of "Norbit" for makeup ("Too often, the Academy ignores movies that aren't good") and, in a nod to actresses with baby bumps, his announcement of a best baby award for Angelina Jolie ... And it was heartwarming when Jon Stewart brought Marketa Irglova back onstage to give her acceptance speech for cowriting the best song winner, "Falling Slowly" from "Once" ... The most disappointed person last night may have been sound mixer Kevin O'Connell of "Transformers," who has been nominated 20 times without a win and is sometimes called Susan Lucci of the Oscars. His movie lost out for sound mixing to "The Bourne Ultimatum."

As for the Brad Renfro snub, well, I just don't think that any lame ass statement from the Motion Picture Academy can undo the shitty way they just decided to cut him out of the In Memoriam montage:

Why was late actor Brad Renfro cut from the video tribute at Sunday's Oscars? "It was really an editing decision because we can't fit everyone in," a rep for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences tells Usmagazine.com. "There was no specific reason." The montage featured footage of late actors, including Heath Ledger, who passed away a week after Renfro ... The actor made his big film debut, opposite Susan Sarandon, in 1994's The Client. His film credits include Sleepers, Apt Pupil and the acclaimed independent film Ghost World.

Seriously, this was pretty shitty. They couldn't "fit" in a 3 second clip of the late actor but they managed to include agents and studio bigwigs that no one has ever heard of? I can't believe that Renfro was omitted merely because they "couldn't fit" him in ... it seemed more like they were making a statement about his passing (he died of a heroin overdose) ... which is strange because Heath Ledger (who died of an accidental overdose of prescription medication) was prominently remembered in the montage. Still on Renfro

In the end, there was no final curtain call for Brad Renfro.

The former child star, whose high-profile credits (The Client, Apt Pupil) were eventually overshadowed by his drug-fueled extracurriculars, died Jan. 15 of an accidental heroin overdose. He was 25.

But while his death rattled Hollywood, it failed to register with the older-skewing powers that be at the Motion Picture Academy, who declined to include him in Oscar's "in memoriam" segment paying tribute to fallen Industry folks.

The traditional montage featured remembrances of 43 actors, filmmakers, writers, technicians, studio suits and other insiders—some of whom virtually unknown to the general public. Indeed, only a few warranted more than polite applause from attendees in the Kodak Theater.

The Academy concluded the tribute with an image of Heath Ledger, the onetime Oscar nominee for Brokeback Mountain who was found dead from an accidental prescription drug overdose exactly one week after Renfro's passing.

(Coincidentally, nearly a decade ago, Renfro auditioned to play Mel Gibson's son in The Patriot, the role which launched Ledger's career.)

Renfro's family could be not reached for comment, however, TMZ reported that those close to the actor were hurt by the omission.

Academy publicist Leslie Unger told E! News that there was never any intention to slight or ignore Renfro in the posthumous honor roll.

"In any given year, we are not able to include everyone who has past away, and because we very much want to include people who worked in all aspects of filmmaking, not just actors and actresses, this means that sometimes well-known individuals are not included," Unger said.

Roy Scheider, the star of Jaws, All that Jazz and The French Connection and a former Oscar nominee, also failed to make the cut. But with good reason: His death on Feb. 10 outside the Feb. 1, 2007-Jan. 31, 2008 time frame covered by the ceremony's tribute. Look for him in next year's montage.

Renfro was discovered by a casting director in his hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee, at the age of 10 and hired for 1994's The Client opposite Susan Sarandon and Tommy Lee Jones. He followed that up a year later starring as Huck Finn in Disney's Tom and Huck.

Other notable credits included 1996's Sleepers (in an ensemble that included Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Brad Pitt and Kevin Bacon), 1998's Apt Pupil (playing opposite Ian McKellen), 2001's Ghost World (with Scarlett Johansson and Thora Birch) and 2005's The Jacket (with Naomi Watts and Adrien Brody).

Most recently he guested on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, starred in the little-seen indie drama 10th & Wolf and, before his death, finished The Informers, with Billy Bob Thornton and Winona Ryder, due out later this year.

Sarah Larson On Hitting The Oscars Red Carpet With George Clooney

LOS ANGELES, Calif.

Last night, George Clooney added some major star power to the 2008 Oscars red carpet and he did it with girlfriend Sarah Larson on his arm.

The "Michael Clayton" Oscar nominee drew some of the loudest screams as he sauntered his way in, but what was it like for Sarah?

"Oh, I feel good," Sarah told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush and Nancy O’Dell at last night’s ceremony. "It's a little overwhelming but… he's a pro so I just follow him."

The pretty redhead has garnered a host of attention since she nabbed Hollywood’s hottest former bachelor last year.

Last fall, she made international headlines after becoming injured when she and George took a spill on his motorcycle, and followed it up by hobbling up to a New York City premiere on crutches.

So has the one time "Fear Factor" contestant gotten used to being George Clooney’s girlfriend, Nancy asked.

"Yeah, for the most part," she smiled. "Every now and then I run away and escape and hide for a few weeks."

"Exactly," George chimed in. "She’s like ‘OK! I have had it! I’m going to Vegas."

The couple recently made a trip together to Vegas, where Sarah has worked, for Valentine’s Day.

"Yeah, we had a blast," George told Access. "We went with some friends of hers around the Palms. We had a great time!"

Tilda Swinton On Her Clooney Bat Jab, Giving

LOS ANGELES, Calif.

She only just won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, but already, Brit Tilda Swinton has given it away.

Just as she promised to do on stage at Sunday night’s Academy Awards, the flame-haired actress gave her gold statute to her agent, Brian Swardstrom.

"I've given it. I'm a man of my word," the lady said backstage at the 80th Oscars.

On stage at the Oscars, Swinton remarked that Swardstrom looked like the famed statuette and she told Access Hollywood's Billy Bush she first noticed the resemblance earlier in the evening.

"I thought it when we arrived tonight — all those fake Oscars outside. [He was] standing beside them, I'm [thinking] 'Oh, did anyone ever notice that?'" Swinton told Access.

Backstage after her win, Swinton told journalists that Swardstrom assumes the austere Oscar stance during business calls.

"If you see a guy at the Governors Ball looking like this, this is [Swardstrom] in his receiving position when I'm on the speaker phone telling him I'm going to do another art film in Europe," she laughed.

Swinton explained that Swardstrom deserved to keep the honor because of the many things he does to keep her life in gear.

"He checks my luggage and he gets me on the plane — I can't put it more plain than that," she said. "Seven years ago when I was working in Europe, I came to meet some people in America, thinking I'm never going to be able to work in Hollywood, there's no space for me here. He told me to come and take some meetings and I met some fantastic people who I continue to work with. And he gets it, you know, and I don't think I'm necessarily a kind of easy thing to get and I love him. He's great."

Swardstrom wasn't the only one Swinton had some fun with at the Oscars. Swinton explained to Access why she called out co-star George Clooney during her acceptance speech, even referencing Clooney's stint as "Batman."

"George Clooney deserves everything he gets. He deserves it all and he can take it." she told Billy Bush.

"You hit him in the nipples in a Batsuit, that's as low as you can go on a man," Billy suggested.

All joking aside, Swinton expressed her deep respect for Clooney.

"I love him so much and he's so great," she told Billy. "Michael Clayton is all about George Clooney showing people what screen acting is. And I'd wish he'd [been given] Best Actor tonight, to be honest with you."

In related news, last night Swinton also took time to explain her love life, which recently took center stage in the tabloids. Several articles suggested Swinton was married to the 67-year-old father of her twin 10-year-olds, while she was involved with a 29-year-old lover. Swinton is 47.

"I don't have a husband. I've never been married," she told reporters backstage.
She does however have two men in her life, Swinton explained.

"I have children with someone else, with whom I'm bringing up my children," she said. "And I've lived with somebody else… my sweetheart for the last three years, and maybe it's extraordinary that we're really all friends."

Paris Hilton & Benji Madden Hold Hands

Paris Hilton and man-of-the-moment Benji Madden hold hands as they shop together Monday afternoon.

An eyewitness recently told Life & Style, “When Paris saw Benji, she only had eyes for him. She walked over and gave him a huge kiss. It was over the top and lots of tongue was involved!”

It just felt like last week that Paris, 27, was dating Swedish meatballs model Alex Vaggo. Just last month, Paris had her tongue down Jared Leto’s throat at Sundance. The hotel heiress is also rumored to have hooked back up with her ex Simon Rex.

As for 28-year-old Good Charlotte guitarist Benji, he and Aussie fiancee Sophie Monk reportedly met on the set of a Good Charlotte video in 2006, were engaged in January 2007 and called it quits last month.

Paris’ ex-BFF Nicole Richie has a baby girl with Benji’s twin brother Joel. Um, small world?

Remembering Lawrence King

CNN host Anderson Cooper just blogged about a shooting at a junior high school computer lab in California that happened two weeks ago. Consequently, as a result of a hate crime, 15-year-old Lawrence King was shot to death.

Anderson, 40, posed the question, “When does bullying become a hate crime?” Here’s his entry:

“We are focusing on a story that hasn’t received the attention it deserves. The story is about a young man named Lawrence King. He was 15 years old. On the morning of Feb 12, a classmate of Lawrence’s allegedly walked into the computer lab in front of some two dozen other students and shot Lawrence in the head. He was declared brain dead later at the hospital. According to authorities, this was not a random killing, it was a hate crime. Lawrence had recently told people he was gay, and apparently wore clothing that was viewed as effeminate. According to many accounts he had been bullied repeatedly, and some parents have even claimed students knew of threats to Lawrence’s life. At this point it doesn’t seem clear how much school officials knew of the bullying, but a full investigation needs to be done. If this had been an African-American student bullied by a teenage skinhead would it have received more attention? Would school officials have taken it more seriously if it had been a Christian campus leader attacked by another student because of his/her religious beliefs? I don’t have the answers to those questions, but I do think they are worth asking. Bullying is a problem in schools across the country. We’ve seen this time and time again. Is enough being done to stop it?”

In response to this hate crime, both Democratic presidential candidates released statements regarding this tragic event:

Said Hillary Clinton, “I was deeply saddened by the recent death of 15-year-old Lawrence King who was killed at his school in Oxnard, CA. No one should face intimidation or violence, particularly at school, because of their sexual orientation or the way they express their gender identity. We must finally enact a federal hate crimes law to ensure that gay, lesbian and transgender Americans are protected against violent, bias-motivated crimes. We must send a unified message that hate-based crime will not be tolerated.”

Barack Obama is on the same page, adding, “It was heartbreaking to learn about Lawrence King’s death, and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family. King’s senseless death is a tragic example of the corrosive effect that bigotry and fear can have in our society. It’s also an urgent reminder that we need to do more in our schools to foster tolerance and an acceptance of diversity; that we must enact a federal hate crimes law that protects all LGBT Americans; and that we must recommit ourselves to becoming active and engaged parents, citizens and neighbors, so that bias and bigotry cannot take hold in the first place. We all have a responsibility to help this nation live up to its founding promise of equality for all.”

The L.A. Times also has a write-up of last week’s memorial service for King: “At a memorial attended by more than 500 people in Port Hueneme, Lawrence “Larry” King was remembered Friday as a sensitive child who liked to draw, paint and crochet. One Christmas, he helped his mother crochet hundreds of scarves so that U.S. troops in Afghanistan wouldn’t be without a holiday gift.”

Hard Candy

The littlest things make us happy!!!

Madonna's hotly-anticipated new album has a title - and it's official.

The new disc will be called Hard Candy. And there is also now an official release date as well!

The record will drop April 29th and the lead single, 4 Minutes To Save The World featuring Justin Timberlake, will be out at the end of March.

Hard Candy features a track called Candy Store (produced by Pharell).

Madonna chose to stick with the sweet theme because "she loves candy," her longtime rep Liz Rosenberg tells Entertainment Weekly. "It's about the juxtaposition of tough and sweetness, or as Madonna so eloquently expressed 'I'm gonna kick your ass, but it's going to make you feel good.'"

In addition to Timberlake and Pharell, the album features production by Timbaland and Nate "Danja" Hills.

Madonna goes hip hop y'all.

We hope it's fire!
