Beyonce to Record James Bond Theme



Newly married couple Beyonce and Jay-Z arrive at Nice airport in France on Thursday.

It’s been reported that Beyonce will record the theme song for for the new James Bond film, Quantum of Solace. Amy Winehouse was originally attached to the song project but producer Mark Ronson has said work on the song has been shelved for the moment because Amy is not ready to make music.

Beyonce is rumored to be in talks with Bond producers about performing a new track written by Amanda Ghost and collaborating with legendary Bond composer John Barry.

Gwen Stefani: No Doubt Reunion Coming Soon!



Fashionably pregnant Gwen Stefani reunites with her No Doubt bandmates — Tony Kanal, Tom Dumont, and Adrian Young — at McKenna’s Seafood Restaurant in Long Beach, Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Upon departure from the restaurant, Gwen joked and asked photographers to “make her look skinny”�. Hah!

Eva Longoria Parker Spurs on the Spurs



Eva Longoria Parker cheers on her husband Tony Parker at the Los Angeles Lakers vs San Antonio Spurs Western Conference Game 1 at Staples Center on Wednesday in Los Angeles. Sitting beside Eva was Entourage star Kevin Connelly.

Unfortunately for the couple, the Lakers made a second-half comeback to record an 89-85 victory over the Spurs.

Despite their loss, Eva and Tony headed to Eva’s restaurant Beso for a romantic dinner for two.

Daughter of Stephen Curtis Chapman Killed



The five-year-old daughter of contemporary Christian music star Steven Curtis Chapman was killed last night by a car driven by her teenage brother in the driveway of the Chapman family’s Williamson County home in Tennessee.

Maria, Chapman’s youngest of six children, was playing in the driveway when she was struck by a Toyota Land Cruiser. Several members of the Chapman family witnessed the accident.

A statement on Chapman’s website says, “Maria was rushed to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville, transported by LifeFlight, but died of her injuries there.” Fans have been leaving their messages of condolences on Chapman’s official MySpace page.

Chapman and his wife, Mary Beth, co-wrote a song entitled “Maria” for his 1992 album, The Great Adventure. You can find the lyrics here.

Ellen to McCain on Same Sex Marriage: “Our Love Is the Same”



On today’s Ellen DeGeneres Show, the lesbian talk show host talked with Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain about their views on same-sex marriage and her plans to marry her partner, actress Portia de Rossi, this summer.

“I’m obviously excited and to me this is only fair and only natural,” Ellen said.

McCain said “people should be able to enter into legal agreements, and I think that that is something that we should encourage, particularly in the case of insurance and other areas, decisions that have to be made. I just believe in the unique status of marriage between man and woman. And I know that we have a respectful disagreement on that issue.”

“Blacks and women did not have the right to vote,” Ellen responded. “I mean, women just got the right to vote in 1920. Blacks didn’t have the right to vote until 1870. And it just feels like there is this old way of thinking that we are not all the same. We are all the same people, all of us. You’re no different than I am. Our love is the same. To me — to me, what it feels like — just, you know, I will speak for myself — it feels — when someone says, ‘You can have a contract, and you’ll still have insurance, and you’ll get all that,’ it sounds to me like saying, ‘Well, you can sit there; you just can’t sit there.’ That’s what it sounds like to me. It feels like — it doesn’t feel inclusive…It feels — it feels isolated. It feels like we are not — you know, we aren’t owed the same things and the same wording.”

Responded McCain, “Well, I’ve heard you articulate that position in a very eloquent fashion. We just have a disagreement. And I, along with many, many others, wish you every happiness.”

“Thank you,” joked Ellen. “So you’ll walk me down the aisle? Is that what you’re saying?”

“Touché,” McCain laughed.

“Well, my hope is someday it won’t be called a contract; it will be called marriage,” Ellen ended.

The British media is reporting that Diddy was probably the reason why catwalker Naomi Campbell was in tears on Wednesday night in Cannes!!

Campbell was reportedly out on the town celebrating her 38th birthday and then eventually ended up at a VIP party aboard Diddy’s yacht.

The reason for her meltdown remains unclear, according to the source, but Naomi and Diddy do have a history of confrontation.

Last year — at Jermaine Dupri’s Grammy afterparty in LA — Diddy reportedly shouted at Naomi in the middle of the party, leaving her shocked and upset.

Sheesh…when the Diddy dramz rains, it sure pours!

ALSO, Naomi supposedly shook up Steven Soderbergh's Che red carpet because she showed up with Christophe Rocancourt, a convicted con artist. The French-born Rocancourt apparently conned affluent investors out of hundred of thousands of dollars using various aliases. Campbell's pairing with the piece of trash proves the saying, "birds of a feather flock together."

Not Quite What It Seems



So there have been rumors circulating that Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder are a pair.

The rumors began at Star magazine.

And there's no better way to put this than how OK Magazine so eloquently states, "Inside the current issue of tasteless tabloid Star there's a 'news' item about how actors Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder are getting romantic, embracing each other and spending lots of time together in their trailers on the Connecticut set of their film The Private Lives of Pippa Lee. That would be really interesting — if there was even one ounce of truth to it."

Ouch!

That burns.

The only truth in what Star reported was probably just that the two are indeed filming a movie together, but aside from that, it seems they've fabricated everything else.

An insider on the set of the film has confirmed that there are NO TRAILERS on the set for Keanu and Wino to cuddle in.

Interesting.

And, another source adds that the two have yet to be on set together, which would make it basically impossible for them to be hugging so much infront of the crew.

If Star wants to save face they better put up some pictures of the two kissing or hugging, cuz without any proof, people are going to stop reading and believing them all together.

Wait, they probably already have.

If you recall, Star was also the publication that falsely reported Angelina and Brad Pitt had gotted married back in March.

You'd think with such a large staff, they could afford to fact check more often!

More Diddy Drama



As we mentioned earlier, it appears that Diddy hasn't been keeping up to his end of the "understood" agreement with Ciroc by not promoting and drinking the vodka everywhere he goes.

But, we're sure he kept his $100 million from the deal with them!

During the Cannes Film Festival this week, Diddy was at the Belvedere bash to launch the new Jagger Dagger. It's a new drink designed by Jade Jagger for Belvedere.

Sources reveal to PerezHilton.com that Diddy was in the VIP room all night, with about an entourage of 50 or more people.

"He spent the night drinking Belvedere and making sure his posse had enough Belvedere on hand as well," a party source tells us.

Shit, it's Diddy. He can do whatever he wants. He just needs to travel with his own butler from now on and that has Ciroc vodka on him at all times!

McFadden: Is it just a number? Most women will not say how much they weigh. My age doesn’t bother me. My weight I would never tell. Do you care about it as a number?

On her looks:
Madonna: I don’t look at old pictures of myself.

McFadden: So you don’t feel any competition with the Madonna of old?
Madonna: I like the way I look better now.
McFadden: What do you like better?

McFadden: You say in one of the lyrics on your new album, “I feel beautiful when I’m dancing.”

Madonna: I see myself as practical and handsome and useful. I don’t think of myself as a great beauty. But I think of myself as stylish.

On Working with Justin Timberlake and Pharell on her new album:
McFadden: You beat Elvis’ record. More songs in the top ten than any other…
Madonna: Yeah! That’s the record to beat.
McFadden: You hear something like that, and what do you think?
Madonna: Then I go back to work.
That’s my reaction. Not that I am going to rest on my laurels, but now I really have to do even better. I think that’s why I decided to do this record with Justin Timberlake, and Pharell. Because they have strong personalities. You could say they’re divas in their own right.
McFadden: You’re used to being the only diva on the premises.
Madonna: Well, like in the square footage.
McFadden: Well, in the recording studio?
Madonna: Yeah.
McFadden: Well what was it like to sit down and write with these guys who are divas of their own?
Madonna: Well, we all had our hiccups where we jockeyed for positions and we tried to get to know each other because song writing is a very intimate experience. I would say there were a few uncomfortable moments.
Madonna: But with Pharell, he actually made me cry. I’ve never told anyone that before. There. Out with it. Headlines [gesturing].
McFadden: Why did he make you cry?
Madonna: I don’t know. I think I was just having a bad day. You know when you’re not fine. You know sometimes when you just burst into tears for no reason?
McFadden: In front of him?
Madonna: I did right there in front of him.

On Adoption and her son David, whom she spotted in the arms of a young girl at an orphanage:
McFadden: Is that when you fell in love?
Madonna: The first time that I saw him [David], she was carrying him. And that was the moment when it all rack focused for me. ‘Oh my God, she’s 8 and she’s taking care of a six month old child and so first I was drawn to her. Where does she get her strength from? And then I was drawn to him and I started carrying him around for her. When I came back the next time, that’s when he was ill and that’s when I really knew that I had a connection to him.

On discovering Malawi:
Madonna: Well, I went to Malawi thinking I am going to save these people. I’m gonna build orphan care centers and come to their rescue. And I am going to do what I should be doing, sharing my experience, sharing my wealth with people who don’t. And I went there thinking well I don’t and we don’t. Because I don’t have that joy, that appreciation. I do in moments but not on a regular basis. I’ve never seen so much sort of tangible suffering, but I’ve never experienced so much joy and openness.

Drew Barrymore and Justin Long Engagment?



Beach-loving couple Drew Barrymore and Justin Long were being spied on by fellow diners at Hugo's in West Hollywood, who (lucky for us) happened to hear the two discussing possible wedding plans on May 10. According to a witness who dished to In Touch, "[Drew] said she wanted to find a wedding planner and [Justin] said they should look at engagement rings that day. But Drew said, 'You know what I like, surprise me.' They seemed very happy."

She should be more specific, or she might end with a iPod as a ring. And unless she and I have exactly the same taste, that might not go over as well as Justin has planned. Actually, now that I think about it, I'd prefer a MacBook Pro...

The Other Woman Speaks!



As we mentioned a few days ago, reports have surfaced that Shania Twain's marriage to music producer Mutt Lange ended due to his affair with their secretary and house manager, Marie-Anne Thiébaud.

Well, now Marie-Anne is speaking out!

And she doesn't DENY sleeping with Mutt!

When contacted at home, Marie-Anne said, "I know what you're ringing to ask me about. But, when marriages break up they break up for all sorts of complicated reasons, it's never just one reason. And those reasons should be kept private."

Yea, well that's hard to do if you're married to a famous singer like Shania. The people want to know!

"Adulterous" Anne-Marie continues, "If you're looking for a person that broke up a marriage then you have the wrong person. I'm not that person."

Interesting.

So she claims she didn't break up the marriage, but she never says she didn't sleep with him. Maybe she thinks he was unhappy and that's why the relationship ended? Not due to the fact that he cheated on his wife right?

Don't Mess With Yoko!



As we mentioned last month, Yoko Ono was going to court to prevent the release of a tape featuring footage of John Lennon smoking weed, writing songs, and even discussing putting LSD in President Richard Nixon's tea, from going public.

The footage was taped by Ono's ex-husband Anthony Cox in 1969 for a documentary he planned titled Portrait.

Ono wanted to prevent World Wide Video from releasing the footage it purchased from Cox back in 2000.

World Wide Video planned to release the footage as a two hour film about Lennon, titled 3 days in the life. However, that's never likely to happen as crazed Ono seems to have won the court case.

A U.S. District Court Judge in Boston has ruled in favor of Yoko.

World Wide Video, however, says it purchased the over nine hours of footage for more than $1 million after all the legal costs and fees were covered.

Ono insists she owns the rights, since she claimed she purchased the tapes from World Wide Video through a Florida man.

The case gets a bit confusing around this point, but World Wide Video claims the tapes were stolen and then sold to Ono illegally.

They then sued Ono for copyright infringement in a bid to publicly show them.

The judge disagreed, however, and said, "What the plaintiff suggests just doesn't fit. It seems to me the defendant's motion is well taken because there was no infringement."

The judge also added that WWV waited too long to look into what happened to the stolen tapes which Ono registered back in 2002. WWV claim they didn't discover Ono even had them until they received a letter from her attorneys last year.

The judge added that "The statute of limitations bars the claim as well. The circumstances here really favor the defendant, not the claimant."

Joseph Doyle, the attorney for WWV said the case is still pending as the judge has yet to rule on several other aspects of the case. Doyle insists that the question of who owned the videotapes has not been resolved.

We deserve to see the footage, especially if WWV purchased it legally from the original owner of the videos.

Bad Day For Him



According to reports, the prosecution brought out four people (including two relatives) on Wednesday to ID the gal in the sex tape central to the R. Kelly child molestation case.

They all testified that the woman who's been denying involvement is basically lying and that she was between the ages of 13 and 14 at the time the footage was shot.

The alleged victim's best friend was one of the witnesses.

"I know her like the back of my hand," the BF testified.

She also said the girl's haircut indicated she was 14 on the tape, "We got our hair cut the same way together," she says. "It's a mullet. Short at the top, long at the back."

The BF also identified the man in the video as Kelly.

But lawyers for Kelly hammered the prosecution witnesses, suggesting the tape was doctored and part of a plot by relatives to get money from the singer.

Technology is so good these days — Can't the prosecution have the tape authenticated?

We're still inclined to believe R. is guilty, more or no mole!

According to Charlie Sheen's friends, Denise Richards is a big fat liar.

No surprise there!

The fame-seeking, money-hungry, desperate attention whore is making it seem like she's hard up for cash, when she's really been making millions by not even lifting a finger.

After her split from Sheen, she received $60,000 a month, tax free, for two years in alimony.

Almost $1.5 million in two years!!! For doing nothing!

Oh, and she ALSO receives $52,000 a month, also tax-free, in child-support for her two kids with Sheen, Lola and Sam.

Damn, if we were Sheens' attorneys, we'd want to see monthly receipts for the kids that add up to $52k a month.

Puh-lease!

Turns out Richards makes well over $600k a year just on child support.

Oh, and it's reported that she also gets a piece of Sheen's show, Two and a Half Men, which eventually will give her up to $25 million!

Damn.

Sheen needed a better pre-nup!

So, aside from ALL that money, Richards has been going media-crazy promoting her new reality show, It's Complicated, which will debut this weekend on E!

We don't recommend you waste your time watching it.

And, while on all the media programs, like The View and Larry King Live, Richards commented that she was doing the show to make money to support her children.

What, $52k a month isn't enough?!?!?

A friend of Charlie says Richards "gets more than enough money from Charlie to never have to work, much less do a reality show that exploits the kids."

Very true.

A rep for Sheen said on his behalf, "The mere fact that she continues to publicly discuss and harass both Brooke and me three years after our separation, which for the record is longer than the actual length of the marriage, is beyond desperate and speaks volumes."

The 71-year-old actor is set to marry his German artist girlfriend, Sibylle Szaggars, who is 19 years his junior.

The couple have been together since 1996.

This will be Redford's second marriage.

Rob, who is notoriously guarded about his personal life, managed to keep the break-up of his first marriage to Lola Van Wagenen secret for almost 10 years!!

Old Hollywood is so classy and reserved!

Redford reportedly told German magazine Bunte, "We are engaged and very happy with that. Sibylle is my fiancee and that says everything, doesn't it?"

First Look: Shia LaBeouf in Eagle Eye

Woah. The teaser trailer for Eagle Eye is dark and intense right off the bat, as Shia LaBeouf's character Jerry is immediately set up to look like a criminal, though he's actually innocent. The FBI doesn't believe him, of course, and now it appears that the people who set him up have further plans. Actually, it looks like they "own" him now. According to the plot description, he meets up with a single mother (played by Michelle Monaghan, who doesn't appear in this teaser) and they learn that they're both being framed as terrorists.

Scary! Disturbia director D.J. Caruso is back to put us at the edge of our seats again — and returning with cute Shia LaBeouf to boot. Eagle Eye opens in theaters September 26, so to check out the teaser trailer, read more.

Christina's Twins Are E-normous

Christina Aguilera was at a recording studio in Hollywood Tuesday sporting another one of her expressive tees, an extra long scarf and matching hot pink lips and shoes. We all know that Christina gained two new girls along with baby Max and she shows off her hot new body in this week's Us Weekly. In the issue she talks about dropping 40 pounds and her new bra size saying, "It's kind of hilarious. I've never fit into an E-cup size before!" We're glad Christina is so proud of her post baby body but hopefully this time the magazine's sales will be enough to satisfy the sensitive singer.

Wesley Snipes Catches a Break



Wesley Snipes gets to have a little more fun in the sun after all.

A day after a court ordered him to surrender by June 3 to begin serving a three-year prison sentence for failing to file income tax returns, the actor was begrudgingly granted bail that will keep him a free man until his pending appeal is settled.

U.S. District Judge William Terrell Hodges wrote in his decision he was "dubious" of the merit of Snipes' appeal, but that the Blade star could end up serving his entire sentence before the next chapter of this saga is addressed.

In arguing for bail, Snipes' attorneys wrote their client is already "actively engaged in resolving his liabilities with the IRS civilly." When they showed up for court on the day of his sentencing, Snipe's legal team brought $5 million worth of checks to give to IRS agents on the scene.

Tom & Katie's Petit Bone to Pick



Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have probably developed pretty thick skins over the past couple years. But there's still a big soft spot when it comes to Suri.

The couple's attorney sent a cease-and-desist threat to the owner of Petit Tresor, a top-of-the-line baby boutique with two L.A. locations, for allegedly feeding the tabloids bogus info about TomKat's spending habits.

In his letter to owner Samantha Winch, dated May 12, legal eagle Aaron J. Moss accuses store reps of both violating their clients' privacy and passing along "simply false" details—namely, that Holmes and Cruise dropped between $350,000 and $400,000 in their stores—to Life & Style magazine "for the purpose of enhancing [the store's] image and obtaining a commercial advantage."

Other gossip rags have been told about purchases and visits that were never made to Petit Tresor, as well, Moss alleges.

Meanwhile, the outfit's public relations spokesman Andy Behrman wrote in an email to E! News that they were asked by a reporter for an estimation of how much the Cruises have spent on gear for Suri, but they "never mentioned that this $350-$400K figure included anything purchased at Petit Tresor."

Cruise's camp doesn't think too much of this recollection, however.

"Petite Tresor is trying to get publicity for themselves by telling the press that celebrities are shopping in their store when they're not," a rep for the actor told E! News.

Despite having all the answers on The Simpsons, Yeardley Smith could only come up with one solution this time around.

The character actress and vocal talent behind the animated Lisa Simpson for the past two decades has filed for divorce from her husband of four years, Daniel Erickson.

Per the petition filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Smith cited the most-checked box ever—irreconcilable differences—as the reason for the split. Their date of separation is "under determination."

The duo have no children. Smith has requested she not be ordered to pay spousal support and is looking to have her legal name changed back to Yeardley Smith, because she has apparently been toting the "Erickson" around since tying the knot in 2002.

Rep: Usher and Tameka Still a Twosome



A minor-league blog might be saying "yeah," but Usher's people are saying "absolutely not."

The R&B star's manager calls an anonymously sourced breakup report on the website theybf.com "100 percent not true."

"Usher and Tameka are currently traveling in Europe together as a family on his promotional tour," Benny Medina told E! News. "This rumor is completely false."

Big Jury Turnout Expected for O.J.



Theoretically you might have to question 4 million people before finding 12 with no preconceived opinion about O.J. Simpson, but the Las Vegas justice system just doesn't have that kind of time.

Instead, lengthy questionnaires will be handed out to a pool of as many as 400 potential jurors, still a bigger number than the norm, in preparation for the football star turned pariah's upcoming trial on armed robbery, kidnapping and other charges related to an alleged sports-memorabilia heist that went down in September.

Clark County District Court Judge Jackie Glass said she will begin to start summoning prospective jurors and to start doling out the required paperwork, which will entail about 115 questions, at least two weeks before the Sept. 8 trial date.

A hearing on pretrial motions—including prosecution and defense objections to at least three of the juror questions and a motion filed by one of Simpson's codefendants to reconsider trying all three suspects together—is set for June 20.

Simpson and two other are accused of robbing two memorabilia dealers in a Vegas hotel room. The erstwhile murder suspect, who's facing life in prison if convicted on all charges, maintains no guns were used and that he went into the meeting intending to retrieve items that belonged to him in the first place.

Trey Anastasio Treats Himself to Probation



Trey Anastasio went Phishing for trouble and caught a break.

After successfully completing a drug reatment and counseling program, the jam rocker was sentenced to three years probation for a 2006 DWI bust. He had been facing a possible three years in state prison if for any reason he failed the drug program.

Anastasio, 43, pleaded guilty to felony possession of painkillers without a prescription in connection with a December 2006 traffic stop in upstate New York, during which officers found the painkillers hydrocodone and Percocet and the anti-anxiety medication Xanax, all prescribed to another person, according to official reports.

Charges of driving with a suspended license and driving while intoxicated were dropped as part of the plea deal. Anastasio did end up spending two days in jail after missing a counseling session in January, but he's due to graduate from his treatment program next month.

The musician's felony conviction was also reduced to a misdemeanor upon completion of treatment.

Silent Treament for Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo



Tony Romo may have been Jessica's date for sister Ashlee's wedding, but there's no doubt who really has this girl's heart.

"It's always been daddy," says a source close to the eldest Simpson girl. "That was the problem in her first marriage, putting Nick second. And it's been a problem for Tony."

Following the weekend nuptials, Jessica headed to Cabo San Lucas with her father, Joe Simpson, and mom, Tina. And while Tony was invited to go, he opted to skip it.

Not only that, the two haven't spoken since the wedding, according to a Tony pal.

"I almost think it's not so much that he's tired of Jessica's attention," said the source. "He's tired of Joe. He's always giving Tony career advice. Even advice on how to date his daughter, like where to take Jessica out. Tony hates it."

Such could be the topic of conversation in living rooms and other bastions of fandom across the nation now that NBC Universal and sports-card titan Topps Co. have rolled out a new line of autorgraphed Heroes trading cards featuring the superevolved (as well as the normal folks who just want what's best for them) characters and scenes from the hit NBC drama.

Ninety cards have been produced so far and are in stores now, available in packs of seven?although modified-DNA enthusiasts can also spring for the deluxe 24-card "hobby box" sets, which include swatches of costume material, sketch cards and other bonus bits that any true fan will want for his or her collection.

"The fervent Heroes fan base and the show's compelling on-air visuals are powerful trading-card ingredients," said Ira Friedman, Topps' VP of publishing.

"Add the engaging storylines and multiseasonal episodes to the mix, and Heroes has the potential to become a major mainstay in the collectible card category."

Although it's hard to remember exactly what those engaging storylines are, considering the show has been off the air since December, when season two was hacked in half because of the writers' strike, the third season of Heroes is scheduled to premiere in September.

Until then, however, we can stock up on plastic sleeves and preserve Claire, Hiro, Sylar, Peter, Mohinder, Parkman and others for posterity.

The second round of cards, featuring Niki, West, Molly and many more, is due out in July.

Sandler's Big Daddy Sequel



Adam Sandler is about to welcome a little Waterboy—or girl—all over again.

While making the rounds touting his new movie You Don't Mess With the Zohan, the star announced on Wednesday's Tonight Show that he and wife Jackie are expecting their second child together.

"My wife is pregnant. We're having another baby," he said. "She's getting a little size on her. She's three and a half months. It's fun."

For him, at least. For her, well, the sickness isn't necessarily restricted to the morning.

"She's very sick. She's going through a lot...morning, afternoon, the whole deal."

When it comes to explaining the situation to their 2-year-old daughter, Sadie, Sandler is his usual sensitive self.

"Mommy's not really bad sick," he tells her. "She just has something growing in her...that's gonna take half your toys."

Phil Spector 2.0 Set for September



The Phil Spector saga is set to take the fall.

A judge has set a retrial date of Sept. 29 for the famed music producer, who is accused of murdering B-movie actress Lana Clarkson at his Alhambra, Calif., home in February 2003.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler, who presided over Spector's first trial, set the date today, despite the defense's ongoing attempt to have him removed from the case. The California Supreme Court is expected to rule on that motion next month.

Spector's first go-round ended in September in a mistrial, with the jury deadlocked 10-2 in favor of convicting the Wall of Sound creator of second-degree murder. Most of his high-priced defense team then decamped for greener cases, and Spector was granted several months to repopulate his side.

Even if Fidler is removed from the case, the new trial's start date is "far enough away that we might be able to keep it," Spector's new lead attorney, Doron Weinberg, told reporters after court Thursday.

Secretary Denies Breaking Up Shania's Marriage



The alleged other woman is finally talking.

Marie-Anne Thiébaud, 37, the longtime secretary and house manager at Shania Twain and Mutt Lange's estate in Switzerland, spoke to E! News exclusively today about her reputed role in the couple's headlines-grabbing breakup.

"I don't work for them anymore—I am retired," Thiébaud said by telephone from her home in Geneva.

"I know what you're ringing to ask me about. But when marriages break up, they break up for all sorts of complicated reasons—it's never just one reason. And those reasons should be kept private."

She continued: "If you're looking for a person that broke up a marriage, then you have the wrong person. I'm not that person."

Twain, 42, and Lange, a 59-year-old record producer, announced their split last week after 14 years of marriage. They have one son, 6-year-old Eja D'Angelo.

People magazine has reported that Thiébaud, once one of the country star's closest confidantes, and Lange have left their respective marriages for each other and are still in a relationship.

Thiébaud declined to comment any further on the reports, saying news outlets shouldn't "intrude into people's private lives."

Scorsese No Longer Ja-makin' Marley Biopic



Martin Scorsese won't be jammin' after all.

The Oscar winner has pulled out from directing an authorized Bob Marley biopic (not to be confused with the Weinstein Co.'s unauthorized Bob Marley biopic), citing scheduling conflicts.

It's unclear exactly which pending project coincided with the Marley shoot, though Scorsese has a number of films on his plate, including Shutter Island, with Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo, a possible Theodore Roosevelt biopic and a documentary on George Harrison.

Taking his place to chronicle the life and times of the reggae legend is Silence of the Lambs helmer, fellow Oscar winner and music video vet Jonathan Demme.

"I am thrilled and humbled by this extraordinary opportunity to participate in fashioning a motion picture that can serve as a worthy vessel for the spiritual and musical brilliance of Bob Marley," Demme said.

Despite the director shakeup, the untitled film is still expected to be released as planned on Feb. 6, 2010, marking the 65th anniversary of Marley's birth.

The civic-minded couple has confirmed plans to serve as honorary hosts for a fundraiser benefiting an athletic complex in the actress' hometown of Charleston, W. Va., next fall.

The benefit, dubbed Starry Starry Night, though sadly not in honor of the two stars, will take place Sept. 19 and is expected to raise $500,000 of the necessary $20 million-plus needed for the complex, which will house the basketball, swimming and volleyball programs for the University of Charleston.

Starstruck locals, deep-pocketed stalkers or otherwise well-intentioned patrons are also welcome to attend the 1,500-capacity bash, with $250 tickets going on sale to the general public July 1.

France to Spielberg: Salut!



Sacre bleu! Forget Indy. The French are jonesing for some Steven Spielberg.

The veteran director was made an officer of the French Legion of Honor by President Nicolas Sarkozy in Paris Wednesday, one of the highest cultural honors doled out by the country.

Spielberg had previously been awarded a knightship in the Legion of Honor in 2004.

During the ceremony, held at the Elysees Palace, Sarkozy said that while Spielberg was being recognized for the "entirety of his work," it was the Hollywood heavyweight's crusade to document the Holocaust and doing his part to bring attention and aid to the Darfur region of Sudan that prompted the award.

Not to mention he has a bit more street cred than Jerry Lewis.

Did an overzealous Starbucks barista spike Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s coffee with...rich, wholesome milk?

That’s what OK! magazine is reporting, quoting a source who claims the barista at their West Village Starbucks “thought the Olsens were too thin, so whenever they ordered their usual drink, he would replace the skim milk with full-fat.”

Frankly, leaving aside the fact that we strongly disapprove of messing with people's food, the whole thing sounds too silly to be true. Or false. Actually, we can’t tell.

The Olsens' rep is quoted saying the story is “ridiculous.”

We contacted Starbucks, and they responded with the following:

“There are more than 87,000 different beverage combinations at Starbucks and our baristas handcraft every drink to order. Our promise to customers, as posted in our stores, is: Your drink should be perfect, every time. If not, let us know and we’ll make it right. We encourage all customers to hold us to that promise every time they visit Starbucks.”

True or not, we're sure that dull response was designed to get us to drink more coffee just to stay awake through the reading of it.

In any case, we have developed our own theory: This sounds less like some Village hipster and more like the work of someone’s meddling mama.

If this bossy barista also suggested they bundle up against the cold, take their vitamins and start dating nice doctors, well, we think we'll have our answer.

David Archuleta: What I Said to David Cook After He Won Idol



David Archuleta says he wasn't shocked when his name wasn't called on Wednesday's American Idol finale.

"Oh, I was pretty sure Cook was going to win anyway!" he told Us after the show. "You know, he's such a great guy. I'm so glad that people really appreciate what he'd been doing because he put a lot of work into this.

"He's been my role model," Archuleta added. "Just a great person to look up to. He's been my big brother through this."

TheYBF.com reported Thursday that the R&B crooner had filed for separation from his wife of nine months.

Thomas Beatie, the world's first pregnant man, will write a memoir about his experience.

Love Makes a Family: A Memoir of Hardship, Healing and
an Extraordinary Pregnancy is set to hit stands September 30, Entertainment Tonight reported Thursday.

The book will chronicle Beatie's female-to-male gender reassignment surgery and later pregnancy.

Beatie (who once competed in the Miss Teen Hawaii USA pageant) gained national attention when he appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show in April with his wife, Nancy.

He said his pregnancy was "human desire" and that he is "a person and I have the right to have my own biological child."

Being pregnant, said Beatie, did not make him feel more feminine.

"It doesn't make me want to go and shave my legs or something," he told Winfrey. "I'm a man, I just happen to be a pregnant man."

America's Next Top Model champ CariDee English was hospitalized for dehydration, her rep confirms to PEOPLE.

A source says English was taken by ambulance last weekend from the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Connecticut, where she was attending a party at Shrine, a new restaurant/club.

"CariDee did go to the hospital in the early hours of Sunday morning to be treated for dehydration," her rep confirms. "She called to be taken to the hospital. She is fine and back to work in Los Angeles."

Chris Noth Has Big Plans for His Baby Boy



Chris Noth had a very big reason for not being at last week's splashy London movie premiere of Sex and the City – well, a small reason, actually.

That is, his son, Orion Christopher Noth, born in January to the actor and his long-time girlfriend, Tara Wilson.

"He's beautiful. I have to go back and forth because he's out in L.A.," Noth, who besides starring on Law & Order: Criminal Intent is also reprising his TV role of Mr. Big for the Sex and the City movie, tells PEOPLE.

"I skipped the London premiere to be with him," Noth said at Wednesday's Gotham magazine and Joseph Abboud benefit for the Rainforest Action Network, held at the Lord & Taylor department store in Manhattan.

"He's growing everyday – it's amazing. He's a beautiful kid. He's coming to New York for the first time next week," says the proud dad, 53.

As for what's in store for "Baby and the City," "He's a little young, but he's definitely going to love all the lights in Times Square," says Noth. Other plans include "the zoo in Central Park. He loves nature already, so I'll take him to the park."

Along those lines, Noth said at the event that was aiding a group whose mission is "to leave a safe and secure world for our children": "I would like for him to have a future – to see seasons and know that in the winter it gets cold, then it thaws out and there's a summer. Hell, I'd like to see walruses and panda bears – I think there's room for all of us."

Donnie Wahlberg: Fans Are 'Best Part' of New Kids Reunion



It's New Kids fever all over again! Between their Today show performance last week – for which some of the thousands of fans in attendance camped out for 48 hours – and concerts in New York and Boston, the boys are most definitely back.

"I am so happy to finally be able to perform for the fans," Donnie Wahlberg wrote on the NKOTB site. "It's really the best way to repay all of you for all of the love you show us." To prepare for the recent shows, he says, the band has been rehearsing for six to eight hours a day, working out, plus shooting a video and cutting more songs for their album.

"Looking back on all the shows," Donnie blogs, "I'd have to say that overall things went pretty freak'n awesome!!!!!!!"

But the guys are still hard at work. "Today I'm going to finish editing the video for 'Summertime' before I head to the studio with Joey [McIntyre] and Jordan [Knight] to cut a new song," writes Donnie. "I can't wait for you guys to see the video, it's a lot of fun."

Hitting the road will be, too: "I can't wait," Donnie writes. "Seeing [fans] at the shows, autograph signings, or even meeting you in the streets is really the best part of all of this . . . I'm so grateful to all of you."

Inside Julianne Hough's 5-Day-a-Week Workout



Julianne Hough can't just rely on dancing to ###### her body, she tells the July issue of Shape magazine. The two-time Dancing With the Stars champion says she works out nearly five times a week.

"There are certain areas of the body that dancing won't ######, so I still stretch and do crunches, lunges, and arm moves just about every day," the 20-year-old says.

And even though she's not a morning person, exercise is one thing she will get up for. "I prefer to work out early because it gives me an energy boost for the rest of the day."

Her workout includes the treadmill, free weights, and, of course, some choreography.

"With free weights I can do little twists and turns and almost choreograph my workouts," she says in the issue, on newsstands June 2. "That's more fun for me, and the time goes by faster."
