Hogans Shouldn't Drive

Okay ... so either Brooke Hogan has been jealous of all the attention that her younger brother Nick has been getting since he caused his own car accident last year or the Hogan children just really suck at driving 'cuz they gone and done it again. If you can believe this, Brooke Hogan was involved in a car accident yesterday in Miami, FL ... fortunately for her, tho, she was not at fault. Her car was hit by another car that was speeding down the freeway. Every the industrious thinker, Brooke decided to blog about her experience on her My Space profile making sure to link her accident to the near deadly one that was caused by her brother last year:

Brooke was the one involved in the accident -- not Hulk, as was first reported. She was driving in the center lane of the Bayside Bridge when the car in front of her lost control while changing lanes. According to the report, the other car collided with Brooke's, pushing her into the left concrete barrier wall. Brooke's car came to rest on the left shoulder, while the other car went back across the bridge and came to rest on the right shoulder. The report indicates that, according to witnesses, the other car was speeding. Florida Highway Patrol reps tell TMZ Brooke was not at fault. She had one other passenger with her in the car, but it wasn't Hulk or Linda ... UPDATE 8:15 PM PT -- Brooke has already posted a blog on her MySpace page about the accident. You'll never guess who she credits for saving her life: her brother Nick and John Graziano -- Nick's BFF who is still in a coma! She credits them for reminding her and her friend to put on their seat belts.

Brooke has since removed the posting on My Space but fortunately I was able to copy the text of her post before it was removed -- all typos and grammatical errors are copied exactly as they were posted:

Seatbelts saved MY life today...

What happened to my brother and our friend John was horrible and very hard for both of our families. But I truly believe my brother and John saved My life and my best friends life.... I don't know if you heard, but my friend and I got into a really bad car accident today ourselves... As I turned on my car I clicked my seatbelt. As we pulled out onto the road, I looked over and realized my friend didn't have her seatbelt on. I reminded her to put it on and the minute she clicked it, a car crashed into us. It was a horrible car accident, one that most would be severely hurt in, but we had our seatbelts on and they kept us in tight. I have to thank my brother and my best friend John for teaching me an important lesson that saved our lives.

I know that because my family is under a microscope, the turn of unfortunate events are magnified and seem like they just keep on coming...And having everyone watching and commenting on our life is extremely hard. If I could stop it I would because it feels terrible. We try to stay away from it but can't help that its shoved in our faces. So please, if youre a supporter, please spread the good around cause its nice to have friends when things go awry. And for the haters, Im sure we're not the only ones you're hurting. I would hope people are never this mean to you because it makes things so much harder......You're human and so are we. Nothing different.

God Bless

~~~Hey this is Brookes friend and passenger, I just wanted to say that Brooke basically saved my life by making me wear my seat belt ....She is such a great friend and a good person! You all should know that! check out what I have to say on my MySpace... I'm on her top friends : La♥La
Thank goodness Brooke Hogan's life was saved by the mere fact that she remembered that her "good friend" John Graziano is hospitalized in a vegetative state because of injuries he suffered in an accident caused by her reckless brother Nick. I am just *stunned* by the audacity of this ridiculous family! It seems very odd and grossly attention whorish to endure a car accident where one's life was "in danger" and then blog about it on My Space in order to try and steal some attention from the last car accident the Hogan family was involved in. I don't know about you but I think the Hogans are real winners.
Bloody Awesome
Here are a couple new photos of Sienna Miller in the role of Cobra badgirl The Baroness on the set of the new GI Joe movie which is currently being shot in Prague:
Covered in blood and carrying a large gun, Sienna Miller cuts a commanding and scary figure. But fortunately the actress isn't on any death mission but filming on set for her new film G. I. Joe in Prague ... The usually blonde starlett dyed her hair dark for the role which sees her play an intelligence officer for evil arms dealing organization COBRA. Her character, based on the classic army comic strip, is an evil but sexy woman and despite the fake blood and gun, Sienna still manages to look great on camera. A smiling Sienna is obviously enjoying showing her darker side with sources revealing the 26-year-old has had a lot of fun while filming the role.
Woot! Sienna looks great as The Baroness. I must admit, I had my doubts when I heard that she would be playing the role of this femme fatale but I like what I see thus far. I have high hopes for this movie ... I was a huge GI Joe fan when I was little ... I hope they do right by me. Judging by the costumes alone, I think they're on the right track thus far.
A Return To The Scene Of The Crime
Here are a few more photos from the scene of the Brooke Hogan car accident that went down Sunday afternoon in Miami, FL where, you may recall, Brooke's car was hit by another speeding car ... after which, Brooke blogged and then immediately removed a post on My Space that credited her incarcerated brother Nick Hogan and his friend John Graziano (who is currently hospitalized in a vegetative state due to the accident caused by Nick Hogan) for saving her life by reminding her to wear her seatbelt:
Photo credit: Splash News
Yeah, there ain't all that much drama in these pics, except for the pic where Brooke is enjoying a tearful embrace by her friend and passenger as her mother Linda skulks away and her father Hulk looks on. To be totally honest, I'm very glad that no one was injured in this latest accident. Even tho I think that the Hogan family could use a serious dose of reality and could really benefit from an attitude adjustment, I would never want to wish injury on any of them. Tho, as I've stated before, karmic retribution can be rough ... I hope they manage to stay out of harm's way.
A Glorious Night of Sex in New York City
Sex and the City finally came home.
After a round of premieres and press in Europe, Sarah Jessica Parker & Co. hit Radio City Music Hall in New York City tonight for the movie’s U.S. premiere.
SJP looked incredible in a silver floor-length Nina Ricci gown and 19th century jewels from Fred Leighton. The 3,000 or so people filling the theater cheered as she made her way in. The second loudest round of hootin’ and hollerin’ went to Chris “Mr. Big” Noth.
And who was there? Among the premiere guests munching on popcorn and sipping the new SATC Vitaminwater called XXX were Bette Midler, Katie Couric, Molly Sims, Regis Philbin, Mary J. Blige, Donald and Melania Trump, Joan Allen, Donna Karan, Nicole Miller, Christian Siriano, Edie Falco, Todd Oldham, Bradley Cooper, Victor Garber and funny lady Amy Sedaris.
Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson, who plays Carrie Bradshaw’s assistant in the movie, flew in from her Chicago hometown and spent a good amount of time chatting in the lobby with Fergie, who sings the new SATC title song.
Eva Gives Hometown a Frosty Reception
Talk about service with a smile, on both sides of the counter.
Eva Longoria Parker served up milkshakes to what were presumably some pleasantly surprised customers Tuesday at a Wendy's in her hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas, where she was pulling counter and drive-thru duty to help promote the fast-food chain's upcoming Father's Day Frosty Weekend.
And it wasn't just recent experience handling crowds of admirers that had Longoria slinging shakes like a pro—the Desperate Housewives star used to work at the restaurant as a teen.
From June 14-15, 50 cents from every Frosty sold at participating Wendy's will go toward the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and the Wendy's Wonderful Kids program, which benefit children in the nation's foster care system.
Patrick Swayze Speaks Out
Here are some happy thoughts:
Patrick Swayze, who revealed in March he's battling pancreatic cancer, is happy to report he's continuing to respond to treatment.
The Dirty Dancing star tells People he and wife Lisa Niemi—both of whom were spotted taking in the L.A. Lakers' playoff victory Friday at Staples Center—have been keeping busy jetting back and forth between L.A. and their ranch in New Mexico and they just returned home from a weekend trip to Reno to celebrate Lisa's birthday.
"I took her jewelry shopping at Kenny G & Company and [we] were able to find her something really special and much deserved!"
But most importantly...
"In the meantime, I am continuing treatment at Stanford [University Medical Center] and the great news is I continue to respond well."
Cindy Margolis Drops Her Guy
Cindy Margolis has ventured into singledom.
The Internet pinup queen confirms she and her hubby of nine years, Los Angeles nightclub owner Guy Starkman, have split up.
"The end of any marriage is very sad. However, I feel blessed that Guy and I remain very close, we are truly the best of friends and the most devoted parents," Margolis told Us Weekly Tuesday.
She and Starkman have three children, 5-year-old Nicholas and 2-year-old twins Sabrina and Sierra.
But while this is sad news for any family, the revelation certainly helps the model's upcoming Playboy cover—headlined "Cindy Margolis Is Sexy and Single!"—make more sense.
Miley Invited to Add Lustra to Her Repertoire
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Or, use their star power to enhance your own name-recognition.
Figuring the kid didn't know any better, the L.A. band Lustra, which previously spotlighted the similarities between its tune "Scotty Doesn't Know" and the Hannah Montana tune "Rockstar," has invited the fictional pop star and the real live girl she inhabits to join them onstage this week and let the audience decide for itself.
"We don't want anything other than credit for the music we worked so very hard on," Lustra guitarist Nick Cloutman said Tuesday. "We don't believe for a second that Ms. Cyrus knew what was happening and was only following instructions."
A statement that's either a gracious attempt to let bygones be bygones or a dig at 15-year-old Miley Cyrus' business acumen.
But just in case Cyrus is unable to perform at Lustra's show Thursday at the Viper Room in West Hollywood, the band has also declared its willingness to appear on Hannah Montana as the singer's musical influence.
A Disney Channel rep had no comment on Lustra's magnanimous offer.
Usher Takes It Slow
He’s married. He’s a father. So is it any wonder R&B star Usher Raymond sounds a little more mellow on his fifth album, Here I Stand?
Thankfully, friends like Jay-Z and Will.i.am arrive to kick things up with album highlights like "Best Thing" and "What's Your Name," respectively.
And even if this follow-up to 2004's multi-platinum Confessions skews heavily toward the slow jams, the 29-year-old singer delivers one of the summer's sexiest singles in the chart-topping "Love In This Club."
R. Kelly Identified as Sex-Tape Star
R. Kelly might not be the most recognizable R&B star, but so far the prosecution hasn't had any trouble identifying him as the star of a certain sex tape.
A former employee of Kelly's testified Tuesday she is "110 percent sure" that her famous boss is the guy featured in a 27-minute tape of a sexual encounter that authorities say took place between Kelly and a 13- or 14-year-old girl about 8 to 10 years ago.
Lindsey Perryman, who worked as both a producer and personal assistant for Kelly, said she initially didn’t want to believe it was the singer when prosecutors first showed her the video in December, because she thought highly of him and he and his family had been "very, very good" to her.
But, Perryman said, she is now sure that Kelly is on that tape, as well as the alleged victim, whom Perryman said she recognized from the recording studio.
"She has distinct cheekbones, the way she moves her mouth and talks and smiles," Perryman, who also testified she used to drive the girl between school and the studio, said. "It's very distinctive to her."
Perryman said Kelly introduced the girl as his "goddaughter" and that she never got the feeling something inappropriate was going on.
Also on Tuesday, two more of the girl's acquaintances identified her as the one on the tape.
Family friend Tadja Burnett also said she knew the girl by her cheeks, nose and overall facial structure.
But the defense zeroed in on testimony that the so-called victim wore braces between 1997 and 1999, asking Burnett whether the girl in the tape was sporting mouth ######l.
Burnett admitted the girl in the tape didn't appear to be wearing braces, but added that she must have had them put on after the tape was made. Prosecutors contend it happened between early 1998 and late 2000.
Meanwhile, the now 23-year-old object of all this horrified fascination has since denied being Kelly's costar, and the defense has argued the video could have been doctored to make it look as if the coupling took place.
At the same time, Kelly's team has also suggested to Cook County Judge Vincent Gaughan that certain people who claim they viewed or possessed a copy of the tape in the early 2000s and didn't alert authorities should face child-pornography charges.
Zinging Sandler's Zohan
Apparently, you don't mess with the guy who claims to have originally come up with the idea for your movie.
The author of a 2003 webzine, 2005 comic book and 2007 novel all titled The Hair-Raising Adventures of Jayms Blonde has launched a legal salvo against Adam Sandler, seeking to halt the June 6 release of Don't Mess With the Zohan, E! News has learned.
Ellis J. Pailet, a Louisiana attorney who represents author Robert W. Cabell, sent a cease and desist letter earlier this month to the comedian's camp, accusing Team Sandler of ripping off his client's ideas and threatening a full-blown lawsuit.
Sandler's publicist, Cindi Guagenti, declined to discuss the claims or potential litigation.
"We don't comment on lawsuits, especially ones without merit," she said.
For his part, Pailet notes in the May 8 letter several supposed similarities between Cabell's gay crusader action hero, who fights bad guys with his "trademarked Uzi blow-dryer, bulletproof mousse and hair-curler hand-grenades," and Sandler's Israeli Mossad agent, who fakes his death to leave the spy biz to cut hair in New York.
"Your transformation of our client’s gay character into your heterosexual character is not a fair use," the letter reads. "Like the Blonde logo, the Zohan logo used to promote your movie depicts your character pointing a blow-dryer as if it were a weapon."
Pailet theorizes that Sandler and costar Rob Schneider may have pilfered the character because they were among "Cabell's first 100 MySpace friends in 2005 when the Blonde MySpace.com website was created."
"Your image unfairly competes with Blonde and your continued use would subject our client to legal liability and further damage to his intellectual property rights," the letter continues. "This is patently unfair."
According to Steve Herlocker, a rep for the author, Pailet and a legal counsel for Sandler's Happy Madison Productions are in talks about a possible settlement. However, he said his client wouldn't be afraid to file a lawsuit to stop Zohan from opening should negotiations fail to resolve the matter in a timely manner.
And if the legal option falls through, may we suggest blow-dryers at 20 paces.
Martin Sheen: Charlie's Biggest "Fanatic"
With a father like this, who needs contentious ex-wives?
Martin Sheen seems to have picked up where Denise Richards left off, in—of all places—AARP magazine, doing his well-meaning best to keep son Charlie Sheen's private battles in the public forum.
The 67-year-old rehashed some of the bad times with the magazine, claiming he became "fanatic" when trying to get his now sober son clean.
"When a life is at stake and it's your child, you become fearless in a lot of ways. I mean, you just become fanatic," he said. "Nothing ever gets done unless it's by a fanatic."
Unable to leave well enough alone, Sheen the elder also dished on his son's less-than-responsible financial history.
"The only way I got to Charlie, frankly, was because he'd skipped out of the hospital. I had to pay the bill. In paying the bill, I got to see why he was in there. He'd consumed an illegal substance; he was on probation...This was a criminal matter. And so that was the wedge; that was the leverage I had...It was the only way I got him."
As for his own troubles, Sheen is game enough not to leave them out.
"I got sober through Catholicism, through my faith," he said.
Hallelujah.
Kirsten Dunst Battles Depression, Not Drugs and Alcohol
Kirsten Dunst is hard at work shooting her next movie, All Good Things, on New York’s Upper West Side.
But she’s decided to focus on something else today—opening up to dispel rumors and tabloid reports that she sought help earlier this year at Cirque Lodge treatment center in Utah due to alcoholism and substance abuse.
“I didn’t go to Cirque Lodge for alcohol abuse or drug abuse,” Dunst tells me exclusively during a lunch break on All Good Things. “I went there for depression.”
The 26-year-old Hollywood veteran makes a point of explaining that while she consulted doctors along with family and friends about treatment, it was ultimately her decision to make.
“It was a good six months before I decided to go away,” Dunst says. “I was struggling, and I had the opportunity to go somewhere and take care of myself. I was fortunate to have the resources to do it. My friends and family thought it was a good idea, too. But I didn't know where to go. My doctor recommended Cirque Lodge.”
Dunst says she’s decided to go public with her depression and treatment because she’s not the only one who finds herself facing the ongoing—and often nasty—speculation in the press and elsewhere.
Most recently, erroneous reports alleged she was fired as the face of Miu Miu because of her personal problems, when in fact Dunst’s six-month work with the fashion house was never intended to go any further than it did.
“There’s been a lot of misrepresentation about what is going on in my life, and it’s been very painful for my friends and family,” she says. “Everyone feels like they have to defend me. They hear the rumors, and it puts them in a defensive position. Now that I’m feeling stronger, I was prepared to say something.”
While naysayers out there may groan that a young, wealthy Hollywood starlet should have nothing to be depressed about, Dunst says mental illness doesn’t know any such boundaries. “We’re all in the same boat together,” she opines. “Depression is pretty serious and should not be gossiped about.”
Hopefully, the very personal revelation will encourage people to stop speculating and move on—while allowing Dunst to focus on making her next movie. And speaking of that project, Dunst also scoffs at claims that there’s an on-set romance brewing between her and her hunky All Good Things costar. “I am not,” she says with a laugh, “dating Ryan Gosling!”
Cruise, Kidman, Streisand Remember Pollack
Judging by the A-list tributes extended by those who worked with director Sydney Pollack, he wasn't just a dedicated filmmaker, he was a dedicated friend.
"I first met him while he was in the midst of editing Tootsie (one of the all-time classics)," Tom Cruise said of Pollack, who died Monday at 73 after a battle with cancer.
"I'd seen every one of his pictures and he generously took the meeting. Years later, having lived through some short post schedules myself, I realized just how generous. He spent over six hours, with the patience of Job, answering all my questions.
"Throughout the years, unpretentious and never condescending, he shared with me what he loved about family, storytelling, food, flying and a great bottle of vino," said Cruise, who acted for Pollack in The Firm and costarred with him in Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut.
"He was a Renaissance man and a great friend. I will miss him dearly."
Nicole Kidman, who also pulled double duty with Pollack, starring in his thriller The Intepreter and opposite him in Eyes Wide Shut, called him "irreplaceable to so many people."
"He was elegant, a gentleman, smart and generous, a wonderful actor, a great cook...a true connoisseur of life," Kimdan said today in a statement. He guided me artistically and personally, not just as a director or producer but as a mentor and a friend. I will miss him terribly."
Barbra Streisand honored her The Way We Were director as "a great actor's director because he was a great actor."
"He knew how to tell a love story," she said in a statement. "And he was a very good friend, someone I even shared secrets with."
Similar sentiments were issued by longtime Pollack pal Martin Landau. The men became friends when both were industry newbies.
"Ever since we started together in New York, Sydney excelled at everything he set out to do, his friendships and his humanity no less than his extraordinary talents."
Greg Kinnear made the jump from E!'s Talk Soup to the big screen when Pollack cast him in Sabrina opposite Harrison Ford.
"Sydney Pollack earned his reputation as the quintessential actor’s director. He was challenging, he cared about the work and made you feel safe, even if he was directing you in your first film. I’ll always be grateful to him. He was a class act and will certainly be missed,” said Kinnear.
George Clooney, meanwhile, was first out of the gate to remember the Hollywood legend and all-around nice guy, issuing a statement Monday night. Pollack served as a producer on Clooney's two most recent big-screen outings, Leatherheads and Michael Clayton.
"Sydney made the world a little better, movies a little better and even dinner a little better. A tip of the hat to a class act. He'll be missed terribly."
Keeping Up With the Faux-dashians
A fake-acting Kardashian? Perish the thought.
Kim Kardashian has put the kibosh on reports that she hosted a party in a Houston nightclub over the weekend, calling out the hostess as an impostor and vowing legal action.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star first addressed the situation on her website, writing that she was "angry and disappointed to hear that people are going around a Houston, Texas, nightclub pretending to be me," she continued her tour of rage on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show this morning.
"Isn't that crazy? I guess this one promoter's going around, getting the money from the club—you know, whatever an appearance fee would be...whatever he's made up, signing my name on a fake contract, or a real contract—and bringing a look-alike of me..."
And while imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, this instance, at least, is, per Kardashian, less than flattering.
"She looks nothing like me," she said of her would-be doppelgänger, a picture of whom Kardashian has already posted on her website. "And who would sit with glasses on, hiding behind a curtain, being rude to everybody?"
Who indeed.
"My attorneys are definitely handling it," she said.
And if that doesn't work, she could always sic Bruce Jenner on them.
Leona Lewis Shows Off Ring – But Still 'Not Engaged'
Lewis's ring is just for "friendship," her rep says, denying all engagement rumors
Ignore the rumors: singer Leona Lewis is not getting married!
"Leona is definitely not engaged," her rep tells PEOPLE.
Britain's tabloids started the gossip when they printed pictures of Lewis wearing a diamond-free band on her wedding finger as she exited London's Crystal nightclub on Saturday.
But while Lewis has called long-term boyfriend Lou Al-Chamaa "the one" and admitted she’d like to get married one day, the "Bleeding Love" singer has no plans to walk up the aisle just yet.
"Leona has worn that ring for years – it is a friendship ring that Lou bought for her as a sign of commitment when they were teenagers," her rep further explains. "This story does the rounds every now and then."
Lewis, 23, has been dating Al-Chamaa for five years and first met the 23-year-old electrician when they were nine-year-olds living on the same street in Hackney, East London. They currently share a $250,000 home in London's Stamford Hill.
On May 9, she became the first British female solo artist to hold a U.S. number one album and single in the same week.
Her album Spirit is also the biggest-selling debut by a female artist since Carrie Underwood's Some Hearts in 2005 – and scored the biggest digital album sales week ever for a new artist, male or female.
Fantasia Barrino Thanks Her Mentor Oprah
Fantasia Barrino has a big "thanks" for Oprah Winfrey.
Last year, the talk show queen cast her as lead in the Broadway musical, The Color Purple. Now, she’s set to star in the new film version that Winfrey plans to produce.
The former American Idol winner got the good news two months ago.
"I was just coming out of surgery that day. I was drugged. As soon as I came out my manager came over to me and [said] 'Guess what? Good news. You got the part.' And I smiled. I couldn’t talk. I smiled and I cried. That's the best news I ever got," said the 23-year old singer, who was in Washington on Sunday to perform at the D.C. Black Pride Unity party at the Avenue Nightclub.
She underwent surgery to remove two non-cancerous tumors in her throat. "I'm okay. We caught it at a good time," she says.
Winfrey, 54, also passed on words of wisdom to Barrino.
"Oprah gave me a lot of advice. She sat me down ... Just, you know, how a lady should carry herself. How to manage your money. How to not put your trust in everybody. Just watch your back," Barrino told PEOPLE.
"But most of all, you have to watch what you do. You have to carry yourself in such a way. You have to just watch your every move and carry yourself as a lady. So other young ladies who are watching you will know this is how you do it."
The fledgling movie star still watches Idol "faithfully," she said.
She wasn’t surprised when David Cook was named winner of Season 7 on Thursday. "He's my favorite because he knows how to take songs and make them his own. I think he's ready for it. He has a glow about him. He deserves where he is right now."
So what advice does she have for Cook? "You just need good people around you and just be yourself."
Report: Angelina & Brad Rent French Chateau
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have signed a long-term lease for a chateau on the French Riviera, according to reports.
The couple, who have four children and two more on the way, signed a three-year lease on the 880-acre estate called Chateau Miraval, where neighbors will include Johnny Depp and David and Victoria Beckham, according to the French newspaper Nice Matin.
The estate, reportedly valued at $70 million, comes with its own vineyard, olive groves, lake, moat, 20 fountains and even a forest to help ensure privacy.
"They'll have total privacy, which is exactly what they're after," a source told E! Online. "No one will ever be able to get pictures of them relaxing at home, it's just impossible."
At the Cannes International Film Festival, Jolie, 32, who is expecting twins this summer, told reporters that she was thinking of giving birth in France, and that French is the "second language" in the family's home.
A rep for Pitt and Jolie had no comment on the estate.
