Gisele Will Strike a Pose Just About Anywhere

Gisele Bundchen showed the world how it's done as she flaunted her supermodel posing skills in LA on Friday. She and a pal swung by Boa Steakhouse (it's Brazilian, just like her!) for some baby-free lunching. While it was sweet to see Gisele keeping her man Tom company on daddy duty with his son John Moynahan, the supermodel doesn't seem quite like the mother type just yet.

Terrence Howard Debuts His Album at Listening Session

In a page out of Hustle and Flow, Academy Award-nominated star Terrence Howard hosted a lunchtime listening session Monday for his debut album: Terrence Howard – Me and the Band of Kings.

Howard, dapper in a three piece gray suit, drummed his chopsticks along to the 11-song disc as it played for a room full of journalists at the Sony Club in New York. The album chronicles everything from broken relationships on "It's All Game" to self-reflection on "Plenty" and the celebration of love on his single, "Love Makes You Beautiful."

Howard told the audience that he began writing songs at age 16 in his "rainbow colored notebook," and discussed recording an "emotionally sobering" song that began as a letter to his ex-wife. The collection of songs is highly reminiscent of a live, big band, jazz feel, which Howard backs up by playing the guitar.

The album is currently slated for a September release.

Is Lindsay Lohan Going Back to Her Old Ways?

Is Lindsay Lohan back to her hard-partying ways? The actress – who completed a stint in Cirque Lodge rehab last September – is raising eyebrows again after she was spotted on Saturday drinking Grey Goose and Red Bull cocktails at a party deejayed by pal Samantha Ronson. Lohan, 21, smoked cigarettes, chatted with friends and hit the dance floor at Hawaiian Tropic Zone in New York as Ronson spun tunes until 4 a.m.

Lohan's rep was not immediately available for comment.

While Lohan and Ronson are frequent fixtures in hot Los Angeles clubs, the actress has opted for water over alcoholic beverages. During a recent visit to Foxtail, an L.A. hotspot, Lohan sipped water as Ronson spun in the deejay booth.

In recent months, Lohan has maintained that she's working hard on her recovery effort by cutting out bad influences – "There are friends that have been hard to hang out with because they've gone done a different path," she told the U.K. edition of Glamour – and keeping trustworthy friends close. But she added: "That's not to say I'll never go to a club again because I'd be lying."

Saturday wasn't the first time Lohan has been spotted drinking post-rehab. In January, she was videotaped drinking champagne directly from the bottle while visiting Capri, Italy. At the time, her lawyer Blair Berk told PEOPLE: "After being handed a champagne bottle while on a dance floor in Italy on New Year's Eve and drinking from it, the good news is that Lindsay stopped herself, called her sponsor, and got herself back on track. There is no magic cure here. The most unfortunate part of this is that Lindsay has to share her 'one day at a time' with the entire world."

Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo's Cake-Licking Birthday Celebration

Jessica Simpson serenaded her beau Tony Romo at his birthday bash on Saturday night in Dallas – and fed him some cake.

The affectionate pair showed up at Suite, an exclusive nightspot, to celebrate Romo's 28th birthday a few days early. (His actual birthday is Monday, April 21.)

The get-together included a blue, star-shaped, No. 9 birthday cake – a nod to the Dallas Cowboys star's jersey number – champagne, and lots of dancing at the crowded club.

At one point in the evening, Simpson got on the mic and sang "Happy Birthday" to her beau – then they started feeding each other cake. (See more pics from the feeding here.)

"She licked cake from his face as everyone cheered them on. It was quite a spectacle," says one club insider. "But they looked really happy together. Jessica had blue icing all over her hands and mouth and Tony was laughing."

On Sunday, the inseparable pair were spotted at Bent Tree Country Club where Romo teed off to play 18 rounds. Simpson watched from the sidelines, riding along in a golf cart.

Ali Lohan to Make Feature Film Debut

Get ready, Hollywood: Another Lohan is gearing up for her close-up.

Ali Lohan, Lindsay's 14-year-old sister, has begun filming her first film project, Mostly Ghostly, in Los Angeles, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.

Ali's role shares similarities with her older sister's character in the 2004 film Mean Girls: She'll play "a popular high school senior" in the film, says a source.

Ali told Teen Vogue in the April issue, "I grew up watching Lindsay. It made me want to do what she does. Just the whole vibe. Being there, being on camera, or onstage."

The film, slated for release later this year, is based on the pre-teen book series Mostly Ghostly written by R.L. Stine, which centers on an 11-year-old boy who befriends two ghosts.

Ali, who has spent the past several weeks shooting her upcoming E! reality TV show with her mother Dina in New York City, Long Island and Las Vegas, is also recording a new album.

Kanye West's Fiancée 'Sad' Over Breakup

Rapper Kanye West and his fiancée of a year and a half, designer Alexis Phifer have broken off their engagement, Phifer confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.

"It's always sad when things like this end, and we remain friends,” Phifer tells PEOPLE. "I wish him the best in his future and all of his endeavors. He's one of the most talented people I've ever met."

Phifer was spotted on the red carpet sans her engagement ring at an "Evenings in Vogue" event on Thursday night in New York, where her clothing line, Ghita, was featured.

"They'd been having problems," a pal of West's says. "Kanye is really focused on his show; he's putting everything into the show right now. Alexis is a nice girl, but Kanye has been going through a rough time. They hit a rough patch and for now they've split."

According to the friend, Phifer and West, both 30, had been spending less time together in the last few weeks as the Grammy-winning star prepared for his nationwide "Glow in the Dark" tour. "I haven't seen [Alexis] around at all the last few times I’ve seen him recently," the friend added.

The couple, who have dated on and off since 2002, got engaged over a lobster and pasta dinner during a vacation on the island of Capri in August 2006.

A rep for West, currently on tour, had no comment.

Neil Patrick Harris Is Looking Forward To Britney's Return To HIMYM ... I Think

While doing promo for his new movie Harold and Kumar 2: Escape from Guantanamo Bay, Neil Patrick Harris was asked by Extra TV about his feelings concerning the report that Britney Spears will be making another guest appearance on his TV show, How I Met Your Mother. NPH wants to make sure that everyone knows that he didn't make any disparaging remarks about Britney's guest stint the first time around and says that he is looking forward to welcoming her back to the set:

"Extra" sat down with How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris who spoke about Britney Spears' rumored return to the hit show, making the sequel to cult classic Harold and Kumar Goes to White Castle and whether he's made plans to return to Broadway. As for whether or not Britney Spears will reprise her role as Abby on HIMYM, Harris responded, "I don't know if it's true or not actually. I read it online as well, so nothing has been confirmed to me in any way, but we would be so lucky to have her. She was great fun the first time." When asked to set the record straight about the rumored negative comments he made regarding Spears, Harris explained, "I made no comments about her that I needed to correct. I've said all along that she was great on the show and she was and she was fun to be around ... We're very protective of her while we're making the show so there's not a lot of dirt to be said ... I think it was a slow news day ... It's interesting for me to see how the media's game of telephone, especially on the internet, plays out."

When asked the same thing by MTV News, NPH reiterated his lurve for Brit Brit:

It's been a long, long time since anyone asked Britney Spears for an encore, but the singer is reportedly planning on taking a second bow in her role as a ditzy receptionist on the CBS sitcom "How I Met Your Mother." After her first appearance on March 24 catapulted the comedy to its best ratings ever among viewers ages 18-to-49, Spears is scheduled to return to the show for another episode, according to People magazine. "The show is ecstatic, and so is Britney," an unnamed source told the magazine. "She had so much fun the first time around, she really wanted to come back. It was a mutual decision to work together more." ... co-star Neil Patrick Harris seemed to confirm the news to MTV News on Sunday at the New York Comic-Con. "She's coming back again, so I hear, so it should be fun," the "Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay" actor said. He added that his enthusiasm is not exactly a reversal from the comments he made two weeks after Spears first appearance on the show, when he said he doubted that Spears, 26, would join the ensemble as a recurring character. "The media takes things out of context and makes other stories out of them, which was pretty much that in a nutshell," he said in reference to his previous statement. "She's not an actress," he told MTV News earlier this month. "She played a role for a week, and did a really nice job, but the workload involved with doing memorization and the purging of comedy over and over is really, really hard. I mean, it takes a strong skill set to do that every week."

It's not that I don't believe Neil's sincerity but I really don't hear that much geniuneness from his comments. I'm sure the last thing he wants to do is talk about Britney Spears when he's promoting one of his movies but the mantle has fallen on his shoulders to do so. Britney Spears gave HIMYM such stellar ratings, of course they are going to have her back ... I don't know that I'd be happy to be overshadowed by that kind of attention on my TV show so ... I can understand if folks aren't all that excited about her guest stints. All in all, if more folks are watching the show, for whatever reason, then any attention is positive attention. In the end, I'm sure that all the HIMYM cast members will be happy to have Britney back on the set ... son long as she keeps doing guest stints and doesn't become a series regular wink.gif

Harrison Ford Got Ear Pierced After a "Drunken Lunch With Jimmy Buffett"

What prompted Indiana Jones star Harrison Ford to get his ear pierced?

"A semi-drunken lunch with [late 60 Minutes correspondent] Ed Bradley and Jimmy Buffett, who were both wearing rings," he tells Maxim of the 1997 decision.

"Afterward," Ford said, "I walked down Madison Avenue till I found the first jewelry store that pierced ears."

Ford's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull hits the big screen May 22.

He said it wasn't tough stepping back into the role after nearly 20 years.

"The costume still fit, which was encouraging," he told Reader's Digest. "And the character came back with the clothes. I think some trace of Indiana still resides in that leather jacket, hat, and whip."

At 65, Ford has plenty of action off-screen as well, helping girlfriend Calista Flockhart, 43, raise her adopted son, Liam.

Asked how Flockhart rates as a mother, he said she's "the best in the world. She's devoted herself to Liam and has done a really wonderful job raising him. I'm happy to now have a part of the job."

Fey tickled to star in ‘Baby Mama’

Tina Fey didn’t hold up a mirror to her own life to play Kate Holbrook in “Baby Mama.”

Like Kate, Fey is a smart, successful career woman approaching 40.

But the 37-year-old writer, producer and star of the hit sitcom “30 Rock” is married with a 2-year-old daughter. Kate is single, and hires a surrogate (“Saturday Night Live” star Amy Poehler) to carry her child.

“Baby Mama,” which opens Friday and is Fey’s first starring movie role, has another distinction: “With the exception of this movie I have never gotten an acting job in anything that I didn’t also at least help write,” said Fey, who was head writer for “SNL” from 1999 to 2006, and scripted the 2005 big-screen comedy “Mean Girls.”

Instead, “Baby Mama” was written and directed by one of Fey’s “SNL” buddies, writer Michael McCullers, who started on the “SNL” writing staff with her in 1998.

McCullers created the film specifically for Fey and Poehler - and only narrowly escaped writing it as a cop film. “They really liked Cagney and Lacey,” McCullers said. “I don’t know how serious they were. At that time Tina’s daughter was 6 months old and motherhood was on her mind and she liked the Diane Keaton movie ‘Baby Boom.’ Then they thought of Tina adopting a baby and Amy was the birth mother. Only we didn’t want to deal with an actual baby.”

When the plot was selected, Fey and Poehler continued to have uncredited input. “They wrote Steve Martin’s part (as a hippie-turned-health-foods-entrepreneur),” McCullers said. “Then Tina asked (‘SNL’ head honcho) Lorne Michaels to take it to Steve Martin.”

Fey said she knows that “when people see movies starring ‘SNL’ cast members they think it’s going to have a very sketchy ######.”

But not “Baby Mama.” “The characters are fleshed out, it tells a real story and there are hopefully real emotional moments,” she said. “I think it actually sustains itself pretty nicely.”

With a third season guaranteed for “30 Rock,” Fey said she doesn’t miss the anchor desk at “SNL’s” “Weekend Update” - despite her February guest appearance there in which she declared “bitch is the new black,” and threw her support behind Hillary Clinton.

“I’m not a political comedian particularly,” she said. “I’m out of the fake news business, which is a great relief. It’s a difficult time to be in the fake news business.”

Hasselhoff Eyes a Hospital Visit

This trip to the hospital had David Hasselhoff in stitches.

The former Baywatch star checked into UCLA Medical Center Saturday to get patched up after a surgical wound above his eye reopened.

While the use of Hoff and hospital in the same sentence tends to spark speculation, especially considering he was briefly laid up in October after falling off the wagon, the actor’s rep, Judy Katz, assured that he's fine and would be leaving the hospital by Monday evening.

Hasselhoff apparently had something removed—Katz didn't elaborate on what that was—last week, and, when the incision started to bleed, his assistant took him to the hospital.

The star of the upcoming Anaconda 3: The Offspring, a Sci Fi Channel movie event, will just have to put off that years-in-the-making divorce-settlement celebration until later this week.

Also on tap for Hasselhoff is a third season of sitting in judgment on America’s Got Talent, which premieres June 24 on NBC.

Oh, Jokes

The Discovery Channel’s deep-sea fishing reality show The Deadliest Catch found itself caught in a maelstrom of controversy when it was reported that last Tuesday’s season premiere may have employed some “staged footage” to boost the episode’s excitement level. The tip-off came when observant viewers noticed the sudden addition to the crew of 26 silver-briefcase-toting models.

A lawsuit filed last week in Los Angeles alleges that a toy fingerprint identification kit based on the CBS show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation may contain traces of asbestos, which is almost as dangerous as encouraging children to play with a recently murdered corpse.

There’s a Hallmark made-for-TV movie premiering this week about the relationship between a deaf mother, her hearing husband and their deaf son. The movie is sensitively titled Sweet Nothing in My Ear. This follows the success of their previous film about spinal meningitis: Hey, Get Off My Back.

Cindy McCain, wife of Republican presidential candidate John McCain, was a cohost on The View this morning and first lady Laura Bush will be guest hosting the last hour of The Today Show tomorrow morning. It’s all part of a new Republican plan to boost the nation’s economy by driving people out of their homes.

Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee said this week that touring with his 25-year-old band has changed. "When the house lights go up these days, everybody leaves and goes back to their hotel room or bus or airplane or whatever. It's different now. People have families and kids." The main difference, of course, seems to be that now the band’s members are actually acknowledging their children.

Miley: Mad About the Mall

Perhaps Miley Cyrus was just looking for something to cover up with.

After some peek-a-boo pics of the squeaky-clean 15-year-old—playfully showing a bit of a bright green bra—made their way to the Internet over the weekend, the Hannah Montana star was spotted Sunday shopping for denim at teen jeans store the Buckle at the Cool Springs Galleria mall in Franklin, Tenn., a source tells E! What’s more, Miley was also seen having dinner at the Galleria’s Stoney River Legendary Steaks Restaurant about a week earlier. She was “very nice,” the mall’s marketing director tells E! News, adding that the star graciously took time out to pose for photos with her fans.

Let’s just hope those pictures don’t include any kind of revealing undergarments…or Miley’s gonna have some serious explainin’ to do!

Jordin Sparks Silenced—for Now

Since winning last year's American Idol, Jordin Sparks has been performing non-stop. Which, as it turns out, wasn't such a great idea.

Sparks is being forced to sit out the opening dates of Alicia Keys' North American tour due to what was described as an acute vocal cord hemorrhage condition.

"Jordin Sparks is on vocal rest and is expected to make a full and complete recovery," a spokesman for the Zomba Label Group, Sparks' recording home, said in a statement Monday. "She looks forward to joining Alicia Keys on tour in May."

The label did not know when exactly Sparks would be back on the road. The tour, which kicked off last Saturday in Virginia, runs through July. Sparks was scheduled to be Keys' opening act.

Also unknown was whether Sparks, as befitting Idol tradition, would be up for singing on the show's May 21 season finale. Fox said Monday it didn't have a set lineup yet.

News of Sparks' vocal problems was apparently first made known by Penn State University, which announced last week that a Sparks solo concert set there for Sunday was canceled.

Sparks' doctors informed the university of the condition, it said, and noted that without rest the 18-year-old risked "permanent vocal cord damage."

Fiddy Feuds with Alicia Keys

50 Cent is no stranger to drama. And living up to his hardheaded rep, the former drug dealer stirs things up once again—this time with Alicia Keys.

Alicia recently defended her gansta rap quotes in Blender magazine, but apparently the explanation was not enough for Fiddy, who had some major dissing to do.

"I don’t like Alicia Keys no more...If she thinks what they consider [to be] gangsta music is [made] to bring black people down, then I think my s--t falls into that category. I don’t like people who don’t like me."

And from the sound of it, the rapper isn't a fan of her music, either.

"I don’t think that [her] classical s--t is cool. I don’t give a f--k if you can classically play the piano. I haven’t been classically trained, because my upbringing, nobody put me in front of a piano at that time...I could f--king care less about the s--t. So she don’t like the music that embodies the harsh realities because they’re not her realities. She hasn’t been subjected to the same things."

Hmmm...Seems like a pretty safe bet to say that a Beyoncé 'n' Jay-Z-like rapper-R&B star coupling isn't in the works anytime soon for this duo.

Pete Doherty's Witchy Ways

Is Pete Doherty a witch?

The Babyshambles rocker and onetime Kate Moss lover has reportedly been evicted from his nine-bedroom mansion in the British countryside for destroying it in a very unrock-star style: with human blood and cat feces.

Doherty is in jail, supposedly on a probation violation, but we wonder if something more sinister is at work. Like, that he stole a warlock’s staff or smote a sacred gargoyle. Or that he led a crusade to sell the Sorcerer’s Stone to Voldemort for crack money.

We don’t know. It’s England. They’re weird over there.

SVU Loses Another Caseworker

The pickings are getting a little slim over at the Special Victims Unit.

Just days after the pending departure of longtime castmember Diane Neal was announced, relative newcomer Adam Beach confirmed he would be leaving Law & Order: SVU at the end of this season.

"I very much enjoyed my year on Law & Order: SVU," Beach, who after guest-starring as Det. Chester Lake toward the end of season eight became a series regular, said Friday. "Now I'm looking forward to new adventures."

The 35-year-old actor had an option in his contract to stay on for another year, but he and NBC mutually agreed to call it quits, per trade reports.

"Adam is a superb actor," series creator Dick Wolf said. "From the first day I met him on the set of Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, I was knocked out by his commitment, dedication and total immersion in the film's most crucial role. He did a terrific job this season on SVU, and I look forward to working with him again in the near future."

Wolf produced the Emmy-winning HBO movie, in which Beach played doctor and author Charles Eastman, who penned two memoirs about growing up as a child of mixed white and Native American heritage.

The Canadian-born Beach, who was nominated for a Golden Globe for the role, is of Saulteaux Indian descent. His big-screen credits include the World War II-themed dramas Windtalkers and Flags of Our Fathers.

During his SVU tenure, Beach's character partnered with Ice-T's Det. Fin Tutuola after Fin's longtime partner, Det. John Munch, played by Homicide holdover Richard Belzer, started putting in more acid-tongued hours at the office and fewer on the street.

But perhaps Munch has decided he has spent enough time pushing papers, because Beach's role isn't expected to be recast.

Wolf & Co. are looking, however, for another bright young thing to fill the soon-to-be vacant Assistant District Attorney's chair. Neal played ADA Casey Novak for five seasons.

Meanwhile, in further restructuring of the natural Order of things, Jesse L. Martin's last Law & Order episode airs Wednesday, and it's being teased as a real doozy.

Deadliest Catch Reels in Controversy

Just how deadly is Deadliest Catch?

Although you can't really argue with the harrowing nature of the work being done by the "stars" of Discovery Channel's commercial-fishing saga, that doesn't mean the series' street cred is impervious to a little detective work.

Per the Hollywood Reporter, a production outline from the series' fourth season indicates that a perilous storm featured in Tuesday's season premiere was not the cause of seemingly subsequent flooding on one of the deep-sea fishing boats featured on the reality series, which touts itself as an authentically gritty slice-of-fisherman-life.

Because the flood occurred in September and the storm hit in October, it's possible that editors stitched the two events together with the help of some specially shot, complementary footage, the trade suggested Friday.

The purported revelation comes less than a year after Discovery took some heat after another of its ripped-from-reality series, Man vs. Wild, was revealed to be not quite so wild.

The network maintains, however, that the peril it's pushing on Deadliest Catch is the real deal.

Discovery execs explained that the outline in question was an early draft that was later scrapped by the show's production company. And although they admitted that the storm-flood sequence combined footage from two different days, they adamantly denied the use of reenactments (except for once, last year) to up the drama on Deadliest Catch, which is one of the network's biggest hits.

This week's new episode attracted 3.5 million viewers, Discovery's largest-ever premiere audience.

"Everything that you see in the show happened," Discovery president and general manager John Ford told THR. "Nothing is made up and nothing needs to be made up. The Wizard was struck by a big wave, and that wave caused the leak you see in the show. The show is 100 percent authentic."

Pickup shots—scenes that tie action together but may have been missed at first by the cameras—are used sometimes, Ford said.

Pickup shots and other examples of, shall we say, creative editing, are very common within the reality-TV genre. (For instance, not every America's Next Top Model aspirant is either a complete be-yotch or airhead as producers would have you believe.)

"If the camera didn't run properly when the captain was boarding the boat, they have the captain back up and board the boat again," Ford said.

And although one booster shot was used last year, he said, that footage was aired in black-and-white and pointedly labeled a reenactment.

Anthony Anderson Joins 'Law & Order'

After nine years on "Law & Order," JESSE L. MARTIN will be exiting his role as Detective Ed Green on the long-running drama, as ANTHONY ANDERSON joins the cast as Detective Kevin Bernard, an Internal Affairs officer who wants to work homicide.

Anderson wants to make it clear that his character did not volunteer for the IA job; rather he was recruited straight out of the police academy.

"It's not like he's a turncoat who wanted to police the police," Anderson says. "His dream was to become a homicide detective, but he has to serve two years in IAB before that can happen. You may think he's a by-the-book guy because he comes from Internal Affairs, but he knows how to get around certain things without cutting too many corners to get the job done."

The "Burn Card" episode is the first time that when a character was exiting the show, a new character was introduced prior to their departure.

According to exec producer DICK WOLF, "I don't think there was a plan that we were going to do the overlap. But when Jesse requested to leave -- which was something we've been discussing for the last six, seven months -- he had made it very clear that he was feeling burned out. He was going into his ninth season and [wanted] the option of leaving. I don't feel that when people have done the type of work that Jesse has done, you keep them under ball and chain."

So on Wednesday night's episode, airing on NBC at 10 p.m., Detective Green comes under investigation for the murder of a hustler named Bunny (guest star BOBBY JONES), who Green happens to know on a personal basis. Bernard is one of the two IA officers assigned to his case. Without giving too much away, Green exits the police force, and Lt. Van Buren ( S. EPATHA MERKERSON) needs a new homicide detective.

'Lost' Returns With Big Pay-Offs for Fans

Despite the best laid plans of ABC and executive producers DAMON LINDELOF and CARLTON CUSE, this season's "Lost" didn't run uninterrupted as a result of the writers strike.

But the show, which returns with all-new episodes Thursday, April 24 at 10 p.m., will begin airing the second half of the season and they promise that all the events that were set up in the first half of the season are going to pay off.

"Obviously, we are missing a lot of pieces between the flash forward from end of last season and how the Oceanic Six [Jack (MATTHEW FOX), Kate (EVANGELINE LILLY), Hurley (JORGE GARCIA), Sayid (NAVEEN ANDREWS) , Sun (YUNJIN KIM) and baby Aaron] got off the island and what connects us to that event. We are going to move forward from that event in time. A lot of those events are pretty seismic and epic," Cuse says.

As to whether or not there will be deaths to explain why more of the castaways didn't make it off the island, the producers are staying mum.

"If we were to tease there were going to be a death on the show, like when Shannon [MAGGIE GRACE] died, it would lead everybody to chase it down and spoil it," Cuse continues. "On the other hand, if we were to say that everyone stays, that would ruin the dramatic impact of the finale. By the end of the season, some people's fates will be clear, others not."

Fans of "Lost"'s love stories, including the Jack/Kate/Sawyer (JOSH HOLLOWAY) triangle and the Desmond (HENRY IAN CUSICK)/Penny (SONYA WALGER) long-suffering separation, are also in for a treat. Look for it in the three-hour finale. Part one airs on Thursday, May 15; followed by a two-hour episode on Thursday, May 29.

"Sawyer is not one of the Oceanic Six and Jack and Kate are," Lindelof points out. "There will be a huge focus in the final three hours of the show that comprise the finale in terms of how that series of events trials transpired and, ultimately, what happens to Sawyer, and it is all on the axis of the love triangle."

As for Desmond and Penny, he says, "We introduced Penny in the second season finale. You had never really seen her before. By making the two-hour finale all of Desmond flashbacks -- considering he had run off into the jungle at the beginning of the season -- it was our intention to make that an epic love story. Because of the chemistry between Ian Cusick and Sonya Walger, it was a well we wanted to return to time and time again. Obviously, it became pivotal in Charlie's death and, we feel, some of the best episodes we had ever done. It isn't because they are weird time travel episodes, but focused on that love story between Penny and Desmond."

Zacquisha's Heart Of Gold

13-year old Connor Steventon saldy died last month after a 2 year battle with a rare form of cancer that affects the soft cells, muscles and fat. Connor's courage throughout his illness inspired many and a call for help to pay for treatment raised thousands.

Zac Efron was one of those moved by Connor's fight. Zac took time off from filming on a local set in the Isle of Man to surprise Connor for his 13th birthday, just a few weeks before his death.

Sad. But very sweet of Zac to give of his time to cheer the sick teen up.

Connor's legacy will live on through Connor's Causes — a soon to be established charity that will reallocate the remaining money that Connor's supporters valiantly raised to assist others in need.

Veg Out!

Keeping on Linda's memory!

Longtime vegetarian and veg advocate Paul McCartney, wants you to go vegetarian to help fight global warming. Really!

"I would urge everyone to think about taking this simple step to help our precious environment and save it for the children of the future," says the legendary Beatle.

According to a 2006 United Nations report, cattle-rearing generated more greenhouse gases than transportation.

Who knew?!

Macca's surprised that a call for vegetarianism hasn't been actively promoted by friends of the earth. "It's very surprising that most major environmental organizations are leaving the option of going vegetarian off their lists of top ways to curtail global warming," he says.

That's one option. Another is to raise cattle in a more eco-friendly way.

Let's work on that!

EXCLUSIVE: Beyoncé & Jay-Z File Signed Marriage License

Beyoncé and Jay-Z are mum, but their paperwork is doing the talking for them: The couple filed their signed wedding license Friday in Scarsdale, N.Y., PEOPLE has confirmed exclusively.

Scarsdale Town Clerk Donna Conkling tells PEOPLE the license – which lists the wedding date as April 4 – was received on Friday afternoon. The couple applied for the license just three days before the ceremony attended by friends and family, including Beyoncé's mother Tina Knowles, her father/manager Mathew, her sister Solange, her Destiny's Child pals Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and the couple's friend Gwyneth Paltrow.

Although the couple's license was filed more than five days after the wedding – as required by law – Conkling tells PEOPLE it's expected to be processed with the state without a penalty. (No special celeb treatment here: Conkling says the penalty is frequently waived.)

Though sources confirmed the wedding to PEOPLE, the couple have remained silent about their nuptials. Shortly after the wedding, Beyonce was spotted with a ring while joining Jay-Z on tour, but neither of them have publicly stepped out with new jewelry.

Ewan McGregor Battles Skin Cancer

Ewan McGregor had a brush with skin cancer but says he is "fine" now.

The Scottish actor, 37, was promoting his latest film, the sex thriller Deception, when he revealed on the BBC that he was forced to have a suspicious-looking facial mole – one of several – removed from just below his right eye.

"You have to be careful if you're pale-skinned and spend any time in the sun," McGregor said. "I went to see a specialist who thought they were better to be removed, and indeed he was correct."

He advised others similarly at risk that it "was best to be looked at" by doctors.

Was the Star Wars Obi Wan star jolted by his experience? As he sarcastically replied, "It was great fun having skin cancer, it was great. I really enjoyed it."

On March 25, CNN newsman Anderson Cooper revealed a similar scare, when he wrote on his network's blog: "I had minor surgery on Monday. A small spot of skin cancer was removed from under my left eye. I hadn't planned on mentioning this, but I still have stitches and you'll no doubt notice."

As dermatologists have increasingly warned, using a strong sunscreen is vital to survival. The American Cancer Society estimates that this year alone, there will be will be 62,480 new cases of melanoma in the U.S. The disease will also claim the lives of about 8,420 people in 2008.

Only last week, Bruce Springsteen's E Street Bandmate Danny Federici, 58, died of melanoma, after a three-year battle.
