With Help from Britney, Jamie Lynn Celebrates at Baby Shower

It was a family affair Saturday as mom-to-be Jamie Lynn Spears was feted with an intimate baby shower in Kentwood, La.

About 30 guests were invited – including big sis Britney – to Kentwood for a ladies-only, catered celebration for the 17-year-old at the family's Serenity mansion. (Spears hadn't been back to her hometown since her aunt's funeral early last year.)

"Jamie Lynn opened every gift," says a source, adding that mom Lynne and fiancé Casey Aldridge's mother lent a hand. "We all sat in a circle and she opened gifts and thanked every person. It was just a good old fashioned baby shower."

In March, the Zoey 101 star registered for baby booty at Babies "R" Us.

Though sheriff's deputies were posted at the gate and paparazzi circled in helicopters, "it was a normal shower," says the source. "A wonderful, sweet occasion."

Miley Thanks Fans for 'Support'

A week after her controversial Vanity Fair portrait was revealed, Miley Cyrus rocked the stage – and thanked her fans – at the Disney Channel Games concert Saturday night.

"I hope you had an awesome time," Cyrus told the crowd after performing her set. "I saw a sign back there that said, 'Miley, I'm praying for you.' I could not be more appreciative. Thank you guys for all your support. Without you, none of this would be possible. I love every one of you and I could not be more appreciative. God bless you."

Cyrus kicked off the night with "See You Again" and also debuted two new songs, "Fly on the Wall" and "Breakout," off her upcoming album, dropping on July 22.

Even the downpour didn't dampen the spirits of her fans, who stood in front of the stage and chanted "Miley" in between numbers.

The Jonas Brothers, the Cheetah Girls, Camp Rock star Demi Lovato and Jordan Pruitt also performed at the outdoor show, which capped off the week-long Disney Channel Games. The concert will air in July.

In preparation for her performance, Cyrus opted to skip Friday night's Disney Channel Games media party.

The hard work continued until just an hour before the show, when Cyrus – clad in a white tank top, white jeans and gold earrings – was spotted still putting the finishing touches on her routine and bouncing around on stage with her dancers.

Lindsay Lohan to Guest Star on Ugly Betty

It looks like Lindsay Lohan is getting ugly: The star will appear in the season finale of Ugly Betty, a rep for ABC confirms to PEOPLE. “The deal became official early yesterday morning,” she adds.

An on-set source says Lohan filmed her scene — a flashback in which she plays America Ferrera’s high school friend — yesterday. “Lindsay was on time and actually arrived to set early,” says the source. “She did a good job.”

The source also adds Lohan will also appear in five episodes of season three. –Beth Perry and Abby Stern

Rob Lowe Accuser Also Nanny for Shanna Moakler

Laura Boyce, the second nanny accusing Rob Lowe and his wife of sexual harassment, also babysits for reality TV star Shanna Moakler.

"I've been friends with Laura for the past ten years – before she was my nanny – and I completely stand by her," Moakler tells PEOPLE exclusively.

A source adds that Boyce appeared in at least one episode of Meet the Barkers, the MTV show about the unconventional family life of Moakler, a former Playboy centerfold, and her now ex-husband Travis Barker.

Boyce, 37, who worked for the Lowes for seven months in 2007, claims that Rob's wife Sheryl created an "extremely sexually offensive and hostile work environment...behaving in a... perverted, disgusting and crude manner."

At a press conference Thursday, Boyce's attorney Gloria Allred argued that Rob Lowe, as an employer, was equally liable for any alleged sexual harassment that occurred on the job.

(In her lawsuit, Boyce does not accuse Lowe of any direct sexual harassment.)

Larry Stein, the Lowes' attorney, said Boyce's lawsuit "seeks to drag (Lowe's) wife and children into the fray" with "false allegations."

Sheryl Lowe also spoke out against Boyce in a statement Thursday, calling Boyce's allegations "sickening."

Lowe, 44, and Sheryl, 46, preemptively filed lawsuits against Boyce and two other ex-employees on April 7. They claim they're the victims of an attempted $1.5 million blackmail scheme, led by their former nanny, Jessica Gibson, 24.

A deposition of the actor and his wife is set for May 19 and 20, respectively, in Santa Barbara, Calif., where they live.

Gary Dourdan 'Embarrassed' About Arrest

CSI star Gary Dourdan is speaking out about his recent arrest.

"Obviously I am embarrassed to find myself in this situation, and I am profoundly grateful to everyone for their support," Dourdan said in a statement to PEOPLE. "I have complete confidence in and respect for the justice system and will cooperate fully with any investigation."

On Saturday, a detailed e-mail exchange between Access Hollywood host Shaun Robinson and Dourdan, a friend, was a posted on Accesshollywood.

A spokesman for Dourdan tells PEOPLE, "This was a personal text to a friend taken completely out of context. The exchange was not intended for air or publication."

The entertainment show, however, disagrees. “The statement from Gary Dourdan to Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson was clearly on the record,” said a spokesperson for Access Hollywood.

The E-Mail in Question
In the e-mail to Robinson, Dourdan, 41, apologized to his fans and explained the circumstances that led to his arrest Monday in Palm Springs, Calif., where police discovered him asleep in his car, which was parked on the wrong side of the road.

“Obviously I certainly wish I hadn’t been responsible for so many people getting to the festival’s VIP area,” Dourdan wrote, referring to the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. “And the after party, it ran me ragged, but I’m glad pulling over did prevent a DUI.”

He also goes on to say, “I am blessed that the Sgt. realized that the luggage carrying whatever they found was not mine and that my tests have been coming back negative.”

Dourdan was found in possession of suspected cocaine, heroin, ecstasy and prescription pills, police say. He posted $5,000 bail and was released.

Dourdan returned to work on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation shortly after his arrest.

The actor has not been formally charged. His arraignment is set for May 28.

Skater in Date-Rape Drug Case Speaks Out

A two-time Olympic champion figure skater who police believe was likely drugged with the date-rape drug GHB is going public with what she calls a terrifying experience.

Oksana Grishuk, who skated for Russia and won Olympic gold in 1994 and 1998 with ice dance partner Evgeny Platov, tells PEOPLE she was having a dinner meeting last month with a business acquaintance she had known for two years at the St. Regis Resort, Monarch Beach, in Dana Point, Calif., to discuss developing a vitamin and nutrition line.

She says she started feeling lightheaded over dinner after drinking from the second of two glasses of alcohol that police investigators later told her had been laced with "a common date-rape drug."

"I felt my body having the shakes, I was feeling cold and my lips felt numb and there was a burning sensation in my chest," she says.

Paramedics were called to the scene and rushed her to a nearby hospital where Grishuk, 36, was treated and released.

Grishuk declined to identify the acquaintance, described by investigators as "a person of interest." He had left the hotel before Grishuk went to the hospital.

Arrest May Be Imminent
Investigators have questioned the acquaintance but have not made an arrest – though they may make an arrest soon, says Orange County Sheriff's spokesman Jim Amorino said Wednesday.

"We are awaiting the toxicology reports but expect to submit our case to the D.A. ... for the possible filing of criminal charges," he says. "I'm confident we'll determine who did it and we'll make an arrest."

Police found residue on the first glass and collected the pill from the second drink, and preliminary reports indicate that both glasses were drugged, Amorino said. Police also are testing Grishuk's blood.

She had the first drink in the hotel lounge, and it was after finishing her second drink, a glass of red wine, in the restaurant, that she noticed a small pill at the bottom and alertly notified the manager. Police have ruled out that any hotel employee was involved in the incident.

A Warning to Other Women
Grishuk says she first suspected something was wrong when she noticed her glass of red wine turning cloudy. "He kept pushing me to drink," she said of the acquaintance. "But I'm not a drinker. It was a meeting and I wanted to stay alert."

Grishuk wants to alert other women to the danger of date rape drugs and warned it could happen to anyone at anytime, she says.

"I was very lucky," she says. "I was in a public bar and restaurant and never left my drink," she says, thinking she must have been drugged while looking away from the table. "That's very scary. Always keep an eye on your glass."

Grishuk makes her home in Orange County. In addition to raising her 5-year-old daughter Skyler from a previous relationship, Grishuk has spent parts of the rest the past two years starring in the Russian TV show, Dance on Ice, skating with Russian actors and personalities. She's also performing exhibitions in Europe and Japan with skating partner Platov and dating a Laguna Beach Web site designer.

"I'm trying to hang in there," she says. "I'm hoping I can donate money from my skating shows to charities to help women victims of date rape."

Friends React to Mariah & Nick's Marriage

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's recent wedding not only surprised fans, but their friends and close associates, too.

"I'm shell shocked," a source in Carey's camp tells PEOPLE. "As far as I know, they are happy together."

Music mogul Russell Simmons said he didn't know about the nuptials ahead of time, but sees why the pairing works. "Whatever makes them happy," he said Friday. "They have a lot in common and should have a lot of fun together."

Even Cannon's family was surprised by the move. "It's crazy right! We're definitely happy. Well wishes!" Cannon's brother, Gabriel, tells PEOPLE. "I'm trying to be like him and I love him very much."

Another insider says the newlyweds didn't know each other before Carey's video shoot for her song "Bye, Bye" in the Caribbean on March 26. "Nick was cast as the romantic lead and was flown to Antigua where they met so basically their [romance] started during the shoot," the insider says, adding, "She's very into religion and Nick is very into religion. That's something they bonded on."

Whatever their connection, Jacob Arabo, who created the diamond sparkler that the actor gave the singer as an engagement ring, tells PEOPLE that his friend is in love with Carey.

Still, others seem more dubious of the whirlwind romance.

"This is what Nick does; Nick is such a sucker for love," said a source close to Cannon. "He falls in love so quick."

Adds another Cannon insider: "We all thought it was a joke, but he's been impulsive before. He's a mini mogul but still young and maybe this was a crush that went too far.

"Well see. He takes awhile to come down from the cloud."

Winehouse Says No, No, No to 007

Looks like Amy Winehouse isn't ready for any kind of Bonding experience yet.

In an interview with Britain's Sky News, her producer, Mark Ronson, revealed that the Grammy-winning soul diva has stopped working on the new theme song for the latest 007 flick.

He said Winehouse is "not ready to record any music" and that it’s going to take "some miracle of science" to finish the two tracks for the upcoming Quantum of Solace.

Winehouse is in serious need of a little divine intervention. Last week, in her latest run-in with the law, Winehouse was held overnight in police custody and given a formal warning after admitting to slapping a man at a bar.

Rihanna: From Jay-Z to Jay-Zzzz...and Back Again

We can't wait to get our hands on the full interview text of Rihanna in June's Elle magazine. Sounds like it could be cranky fun, judging by the snippets now trickling out, like this RiRi response to a question poking into her reputed/disputed relationship with hip-hop mogul Jay-Z:

“Well, it’s crazy that you ask me that. People know that it’s not true. I think it’s kinda a cliché question, and people know it’s not true, so I don’t even know why it’s still addressed to this day. I get asked about it all the time and I’m like, You’re asking, but you know the answer. I don’t even like to address it anymore.”

Sounds like there's not a lot of room for some of the press under her umbrella.

HSM3: First Day Back Includes Police Escort

The highly anticipated High School Musical 3 movie began shooting on Saturday in Salt Lake City, and E! News got the scoop:

Ashley Tisdale was escorted around the set by a police officer who never left her side, except when cameras were rolling. E!’s set spy said she looked really sad. She never cracked a smile and did not socialize with anyone, except Vanessa Hudgens, who wasn’t working but showed up late in the afternoon to hang out.

It’s worth noting that Tisdale, who plays the spoiled Sharpay, was done up in a pink cowgirl costume, which might make anyone a bit glum.

Zac Efron, Corbin Bleu, Ryne Sanborn and Chris Warren were also on hand, shooting classroom scenes. Though all the actors had their own well-guarded trailers, the guys tended to hang out on set and chat with extras and crew.

Olesya Rulin wore sunglasses indoors all day. The extras got a kick out of that Hollywood-esque move.

Director Kenny Ortega personally directed the extras and was "extremely gracious to all of us," said our set source. "He was carrying around Ashley's dog all day. He was holding it as if it lived in his arms."

Wait a minute—he had her dog? Maybe that’s why she was so glum.

Brit Fetes Jamie Lynn's Baby; K-Fed Golfs With Babes

Surrounded by pink and blue balloons and with big sister Britney Spears by her side, teen mom-to-be Jamie Lynn Spears celebrated her baby shower in Kentwood, La., on Saturday. The 17-year-old is expecting a girl sometime this summer.

Friends and family gathered at mom Lynne's home, known as "Serenity," where Britney and her father, Jamie, are staying. E! News has learned that mom and dad did all the cooking for the alcohol-free affair, which included fried chicken and chili.

Security was tight at Serenity, with police setting up a roadblock and checking IDs. By noon, only about 50 cars were allowed to enter, mostly filled with college-age men and women. There was no sign of Jamie Lynn's baby daddy/fiancé, Casey Aldridge.

An outdoor patio was set up for guests, although a swarm of helicopters from the paparazzi kept most of the partygoers indoors. Music could be heard until past 8 p.m.

The trip marks Brit-Brit's first back to her hometown in more than one year. She's expected back in Los Angeles by Tuesday for another custody hearing with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

Speaking of K-Fed, the wannabe rapper was surrounded by balloons of his own over the weekend.

Federline and friends attended—and won—a charity golf tournament in Los Angeles, with partygoers that included Hooters Girls, scantily clad models and porn industry professionals. The 12th Annual Skylar Neil Memorial Golf Tournament was founded by Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil, who lost his daughter to cancer in 1995.

Adrian Cardoza, tournament director of Lost Canyons Country Club, where the event was held, tells E! News that "Kevin had a really good attitude and looked really happy to be at the tournament. It was an eventful day with very exposed and provocative girls everywhere." Sounds wonderful!

But, once again, this begs the question: Who's watching the kids?!

The $100 Million Iron Man

Take that, Batman, Superman and just about every other kind of costume-wearing man.

Iron Man grossed $100.8 million, per studio estimates compiled Sunday by Exhibitor Relations Co., a number that makes the Robert Downey Jr. film second only to Spider-Man for comic book movie debuts.

The estimate does not include the movie's Thursday night sneaks. If it did, it'd be $3.5 million higher.

The estimate also doesn't include overseas ticket sales. If it did, it'd be nearly $100 million higher.

In all, by the close of business tonight, Iron Man is predicted to have taken in $104.3 million domestically and $201 million worldwide, or more than the entire global runs of Daredevil and Catwoman. Give it a few days or so, and it'll move past Batman & Robin and Ghost Rider on the all-time comic book movie list, as compiled by Box Office Mojo.

Already, Iron Man is in heavyweight company. Its opening was bigger than those of Batman Begins ($48.7 million), Superman Returns ($52.5 million), the first two X-Men movies and Spider-Man 2 ($88.2 million).

Not bad for a character that's considered B-list to the Spider-Man-, Batman-, Superman-populated A-list.

Among non-comic-book movie sequels, only the original Spider-Man topped $90 million in its opening weekend. (The 2002 film grossed a phenomenal $114.8 million.)

Among any kind of movie, Iron Man posted the 10th biggest opening ever.

The best news of all for Marvel, the comics giant that footed the bill for the film: The $186 million it reputedly sank into the production has already been covered.

According to Box Office Mojo, the movie opened up with $35.1 million on Friday, moved up to $37.5 million on Saturday, and is projected to make $28.1 million today.

Among the weekend's top 12 movies, it accounted for more than 65 percent of all business, which was not exactly great news for Patrick Dempsey and Made of Honor (second place, $15.5 million).

Also, it now seems clear Iron Man will be the biggest opener, by about $80 million, of Jeff Bridges' career. In the movie, Bridges plays the evil-doing Iron Monger to Downey's good-doing Iron Man.

Actually, given the movie's performance, better make that Downey's solid-gold Iron Man.

Elsewhere:

* Iron Man or no, overall business was still down—15 percent—from the same weekend last year. That's because as big as the armored movie was, Spider-Man 3, which opened on the first weekend in May 2007, was even bigger, grossing $151.1 million.
* Iron Man, by the way, is now only the second movie of 2008 to break the $100 million mark.
* The spin on Made of Honor is that it did what its studio thought it was going to do, and that for a $40 million movie, its debut was pretty good. The stats tend to agree. Among recent romantic comedies, Made of Honor opened bigger than Leatherheads but smaller, although not hugely smaller, than 27 Dresses and Fool's Gold.
* All things considered, last weekend's champ, Baby Mama (third place, $10.3 million; $32.3 million overall), had a decent weekend, with ticket revenue down "only" 41 percent.
* Forgetting Sarah Marshall (fourth place, $6.1 million; $44.8 million) is hanging in there.
* Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who! ($1.4 million; $149.8 million overall), the year's reigning box-office champ, at least until Iron Man and the other summer movies pass it, fell out of the Top 10 after a seven-weekend run.
* Deception ($865,000; $4 million overall) was bounced from the Top 10 after just one weekend.
* Filmmaker Harmony Korine's first feature in nearly 10 years, the celebrity-impersonator-inhabited Mister Lonely, was the star of the art-house circuit, grossing $19,100 at one theater.
* Other limited-release standouts: The British coming-of-age comedy Son of Rambow and Redbelt ($68,600 at six theaters, per Box Office Mojo).
* One last Iron Man thing: Sometimes the smaller movies actually outdo the big movies when it comes to filling their respective theaters. Not this time. No movie did more business per screen—$24,543—than the biggest movie of the weekend.

Here's a recap of the top-grossing weekend films based on Friday-Sunday estimates compiled by Exhibitor Relations:

1. Iron Man, $100.8 million
2. Made of Honor, $15.5 million
3. Baby Mama, $10.3 million
4. Forgetting Sarah Marshall, $6.1 million
5. Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, $6 million
6. The Forbidden Kingdom, $4.2 million
7. Nim's Island, $2.8 million
8. Prom Night, $2.5 million
9. 21, $2.1 million
10. 88 Minutes, $1.6 million

Papa's Got a Brand New Boy

New DNA tests prove that the Godfather of Soul lives on in a 6-year-old boy.

Results confirm that James Brown was the biological father of James Brown II, according to Peter Shahid, the boy's attorney. The boy's mother, Tomi Rae Hynie, sang backup for Brown and claimed to be the soul legend's wife when he died Dec. 25, 2006. Neither Hynie nor her son was mentioned in his will, and the positive paternity test is a first step in staking a claim to the singer's estate.

While he was alive, the Hardest Working Man in Show Business lived up to his moniker on- and offstage. Brown was married four times and fathered six seven children that have been confirmed and at least three others who claim they were the product of extramarital affiars.

Mariah Blocks Our View to a Marriage

Here doesn't come the bride.

Mariah Carey has pulled out of a scheduled appearance on The View next week, a show spokesman confirms to E! News. According to the singer's website, she had been set to join the morning chatfest on Monday.

And that's all she wrote. But usually when a chart-topping artist has a new album out, her people hit up every relevant talk show for a little face time, a performance, a plug.

And considering Carey's 11th studio album, E=MC2, is only a couple weeks old—and the mainstream recording industry can use all the good PR it can get, what with the massive decline in album sales and all—isn't it odd that the pop superstar has all of a sudden scrapped a spot on the sofa?

It couldn't have anything to do with her having tied the knot on the QT Wednesday in the Bahamas.

Could it?

"I'm Trying to Get My Black Bruce Willis On"

That's what Diddy told People this week while celebrating his new star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

We've been constantly impressed by shape-shifting entrepreneur Diddy as he's moved from multinamed record producer to hip-hop star to party monster to fashion designer to actor and several other things we've probably forgotten.

And now, we salute his ambition to put in all the hard work necessary to become a movie star. He seems able to do it all. Our only qualm is with him getting racial all up in our facial, though he's clearly having fun with the idea. Because, pigmentation aside, being the next Diddy is a doozy in its own right.

Besides, we have a sneaking suspicion that Bruce Willis may want to be the black Bruce Willis. And he's got first dibs.

Lindsay Made Unwitting Poster Child for Drunkards

Here's guessing Lindsay Lohan won't be renewing her USA Today subscription.

The actress' attorney, Blair Berk, is blasting the ordinarily banal publication as "idiotic" for running a full-page advertisement Friday that uses Lohan's mug—and mug shot—to rail against an anti-DUI device.

The ad, bankrolled for by the American Beverage Institute, a trade group for liquor companies, states that ignition interlockers, which prevent a car from starting if booze is detected on the driver's breath, "are a great tool for getting hard-core drunk drivers off our roads" (presumably including Lindsay, or "Lindsey" as the print version misspells it) but otherwise infringes on civil liberties.

Making such devices standard would create a doomsday scenario, per the ad: "No more champagne toasts at weddings, no more wine with dinner, no more beers at a ballgame. Let's stop drunk driving without eliminating our traditions."

And that made Lohan's lawyer apoplectic.

"USA Today is idiotic to run such an irresponsible advertisement suggesting that drinking and driving is some kind of American 'tradition' we should protect," Berk said in a statement to E! News. "Not identifying that this ad was paid for by the liquor and restaurant industries is profoundly reckless.

"Drunk white businessmen, drunk housewives out for girls night out and drunk wedding parties should be kept off the roads of America. Lindsay Lohan fully endorses ignition interlock devices, which have been well-proven to save lives."

A spokeswoman for the American Beverage Institute said the mug shot was part of the public record and Lohan was fair game.

"The reason that we used Lindsay Lohan is because she's had multiple DUIs that have been high profile," American Beverage Institute managing director Sarah Longwell told the Associated Press, adding that the lobbying group took out the ad in response to several states enacting laws forcing first-time offenders to use interlockers.

"We needed to create the distinction for the public what someone with multiple DUIs looked like versus a low blood-alcohol-level first-time offender."

USA Today, meanwhile, sought to remain above the fray, calling its ad pages "a forum for competing views."

Uma's Alleged Stalker a "Clumsy" Courtier

Uma Thurman's overzealous (to say the least) fan isn't a stalker—he's an opportunist. At least, to hear him tell it.

Jackson William Leslie Jordan, the man accused of stalking and aggravated harassment of the actress, took the stand in a Manhattan courtroom this morning, insisting that, despite garnering the exact opposite response, his romantic (or, as Thurman describes it, "creepy") overtures to the Kill Bill star were not meant "to scare her in any way."

"In a misguided way I was trying to give her an opportunity to meet me and give myself an opportunity to meet her," testified the former mental patient, who made repeat and unwanted visits to her home and movie sets and sent unsolicited emails and letters to Thurman and her family.

Jordan attempted to clarify one such expression of his love this morning: a card he personally delivered to Thurman's movie trailer that featured a drawing of an open grave, a headstone and a man standing on a razor blade, and the statement, "My hands should be on your body at all times."

Cupid's arrow was slightly off target, though. Thurman testified Thursday that the card was "like a nightmare" and left her "completely freaked out."

"This cartoon was meant to amuse her, to endear me to her," Jordan, 37, testified. "I felt like I was walking the razor's edge. I felt like it reflected this relationship that I unfortunately imagined we had."

"It's an ironic, kind of twisted sense of humor."

As was, he confessed, his threat to Thurman's family that he would kill himself if he didn't manage to meet the actress.

"It was a clumsy and poor way of expressing my emotions for her."

No kidding.

"I wasn't feeling suicidal, but I was expressing a depth of feeling that was very disturbing," he said.

Again, no kidding.

If convicted of the charges, Jordan, who, his attorney acknowledged, suffered from schizophrenia and is bipolar, faces up to a year behind bars.

Presley Apology in the Mail

Lisa Marie Presley's lawsuit has left the building.

Elvis' offspring succeeded in wrangling an apology out of Britain's Daily Mail over an article published earlier this year in which the tab blamed the rock progeny's ballooning physique on eating habits inherited from daddy.

"On March 4, we published a photograph of Lisa Marie Presley while she was dining with friends," the Mail wrote in a mea culpa Friday. "We suggested she might have an unhealthy appetite similar to her late father. We now accept that the suggestion is untrue and apologize to Ms. Presley for any distress caused."

The article, and accompanying unflattering pictures, led to Presley's reluctant disclosure of her expectancy two days later, in which she also also slammed the newspaper's "vicious" and "personal attack." Her attorneys wasted no time reacting, either, filing a libel suit against the Mail less than a week after the article was published.

The 40-year-old Presley, meanwhile, will be back to fighting condition this fall, when she and hubby Michael Lockwood will welcome their first child together.

Reeves has hired the law firm of La Follette, Johnson, De Haas, Fesler & Ames, the same legal eagles who successfully defended Lohan in her infamous 2005 busboy smashup, to represent him against a paparazzo who claims he was dinged by the Matrix star's ride more than a year ago.

Reeves' previous lead lawyer, Jeffrey Redd, bailed on the case last week. The Lohan-approved team had signed on last month to assist Redd in the case, but now will run point.

The new attorneys will make their debut Monday, when both sides are due in court for the first hearing in the case. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elizabeth A. Grimes is slated to rule on Team Keanu's motion to strike the photographer's punitive damages claim.

Photog Alison Silva filed the suit last November, initially alleging negligence; he later amended his complaint, adding allegations of assault and battery against Reeves.

The suit stems from an incident that took place in Rancho Palos Verdes in March 2007, when, Silva claims, he was snapping away at Reeves when the actor got behind the wheel of a 1996 Porsche 911 Cabrio. Per Silva, Reeves covered his face and erratically pulled away from the curb, hitting and injuring the shutterbug in the process.

Silva, who has another pending lawsuit against a rival photo agency, claims the injuries he sustained have diminished his earning power.

Prior to his departure from the case, Redd disputed Silva's take, claiming it was the photographer who was to blame for the incident due to his inherently risky pursuit of the star.

Perez Tries to Torpedo Ronson Rerun

Perez Hilton doesn't want Samantha Ronson to get another spin in court.

The DJ to the stars and Lindsay Lohan sidekick is seeking to reinstate her defamation lawsuit against celebrity gossip guru that was dismissed last December on free-speech grounds.

But Hilton isn't so keen on a rerun of the case, in which Ronson claims he trashed her reputation by accusing her of leaving cocaine in Lohan's car following an accident last May.

"Ronson had her day in court—in fact, she had many days in court," Hilton says in court papers filed earlier this week.

Ronson got working to resurrect the complaint accusing Hilton (real name Mario Lavendeira) and codefendant Jill Ishkanian of Sunset Photo and News Agency last month, when her new lawyer, David M. Bass, filed documents April 9 arguing she should get a do-over because she had a falling-out with original attorney Martin Garbus.

Garbus dropped Ronson as a client in a dispute over his fee and never deposed Hilton or fought the defendants' motion to dismiss. He sued her in December seeking payment of a $165,000 tab. Ronson countersued Garbus yesterday, claiming he had agreed to charge no more than $75,000.

Hilton, meanwhile, says the 30-year-old DJ was the reason the original suit was scuttled and she shouldn't get a second chance.

"Ronson frustrated Garbus'...ability to continue to represent her...by failing to return phone calls, failing to attend meetings and returning documents and papers to them unopened," he says in court papers.

Neither Bass nor Hilton's attorney, Bryan Freedman, were available to comment today on the latest legal wrangling.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elihu Berle, who dismissed the original complaint back in November and ordered Ronson to pay Hilton $85,000 in defendant attorney's fees, will field her request to resurrect the suit May 13.

Gavin Rossdale: "I Have a Tough Wife"

Gavin Rossdale does more than marry well, look handsome and make adorable children. On June 3, he'll release a nonhuman creation called WANDERlust.

Yes, we aren't fans of creative capitalization, but we are curious about what he reveals about life with Gwen Stefani.

He gives a hint in his description of the first single, "Love Remains the Same": "I have a tough wife with high standards...It’s hard to be with anybody for any length of time, and there are those times when you realize we need to make an effort here."

Nicole Dusts Off Springfield Biopic

Her baby bump may still be invisible to the naked eye, but Nicole Kidman has already lined up—and tuned up—for her first postbaby role.

The Aussie Oscar winner is set to star as iconic '60s British pop singer Dusty Springfield, whose less than stable private life was marred by mental illness, substance abuse and dalliances with the fairer sex before her death in 1999 from breast cancer.

According to Variety, Kidman will also produce the as yet untitled film for Fox 2000, and will reunite with her Hours writer Michael Cunningham for the project.

Unfortunately, as Hollywood isn't one for entirely new ideas, a second Springfield project is in the works at Universal, that one starring Kristin Chenoweth as the seminal songbird.

Zellweger Aims for Boob Tube

It's not just business as usual for Renée Zellweger's new small-screen foray. It's also pretty personal.

The Oscar winner is set to executive produce, though not appear in, Living Proof, an original TV movie for the newly revamped Lifetime network.

Harry Connick Jr. will star in the telepic, which in the typical Lifetime mold is based on a true story, this time of UCLA doctor Denny Slamon, the doc who helped develop the breast-cancer treatment drug Herceptin 2.

Zellweger jumped on board the project immediately, no doubt in part because Slamon is the same real-life M.D. who treated the actress' good friend and publicist, Nanci Ryder.

The film, which will be shot in Connick's hometown of New Orleans, will fittingly air in October as part of the network's 14th annual public awareness campaign, "Stop Breast Cancer for Life."

Smallville Loses Its Big Bad

Lex Luthor apparently feels ready to exercise his evil tendencies on a bigger stage than Smallville.

The pre-Superman drama's producers have confirmed that Michael Rosenbaum, who has played the emotionally complex bald baddie since 2001, will be leaving the series at the end of the current season.

"It has been an honor and pleasure to work with Michael for the past six seasons," the CW and Smallville executive producers Darren Swimmer, Todd Slavkin, Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson said in a joint statement. "He is one of the best actors on television and has never failed to bring a new layer to the character of Lex Luthor in every episode. While Michael won’t be a series regular and we won’t have the pleasure of working with him on a weekly basis this fall, we like to think that we haven’t seen the last of Lex Luthor. Stay tuned."

Meanwhile, Rosenbaum, ever the gentleman—minus his onscreen shenanigans, of course—also took time out to pen a personal note of thanks to his fellow cast and crewmembers and to all those devoted Clark, Lana and Lex fans out there.

"Your support is what has made Smallville so successful, and I appreciate you all more than you know," the 35-year-old actor wrote.

"That being said, it is time for me to start the next chapter of my life and career. I hope that I gave you some enjoyment over the years, and that you found my portrayal of Lex Luthor to be satisfying. I am truly grateful, as Smallville fans are the best fans out there. I sincerely hope that you will continue to follow my career through my hair growth period and beyond."

"Thanks crew. Thanks fans. Thanks Smallville," he concluded.

The CW announced in March it had renewed the cult-favorite series for an upcoming eighth season. Which, despite Rosenbaum's absence, doesn't promise to be a total letdown.

Per Swimmer, Slavkin & Co., two new villains—Doomsday and an as-yet-unnamed female nemesis—will be coming on board to keep Clark on his toes.

Indiana Jones and the Poison Pen Letter

Indiana Jones has battled Nazis, escaped certain death and found the Holy Grail.

That apparently doesn’t impress J.D. Salinger, the reclusive author of Catcher in the Rye. Hollywood Deadline alerted us to a Salinger letter auctioned on eBay, in which the author describes his reaction to seeing Raiders of the Lost Ark:

“I got hooked into seeing Raiders of the Lost Ark, which might be excused for its unwitty, unfunny awful socko-ness if it had been put together by Harvard Lampoon seniors.”

Ouch. We actually liked the socko-ness, but what do you expect from the guy who wrote in Catcher in the Rye? “If there’s one thing I hate, it’s the movies. Don’t even mention them to me.”

At least he didn't call Indy a phony.

Jason Biggs' Little Wedding

Jason Biggs got married faster than you can say "warm apple pie."

The American Pie star and his actress fiancée Jenny Mollen eloped last week, tying the knot April 23 in an intimate, private ceremony in Los Angeles, a rep for the couple confirms.

"The newlyweds wanted to take in this moment without any distractions," publicist Lisa Jammal said in a statement Thursday.

Biggs and the missus are also planning a "proper" ceremony for July in Napa, Calif., so that all of their family and friends can share in the celebration.

The couple met in 2007 on the set of My Best Friend's Girl and announced their engagement in January.

"I am in love for the first time," Biggs said in an interview last year.

Jacko Lightens His Legal Load

Could it be that Michael Jackson's legal docket is dwindling?

The Thriller artist has dropped the 2006 lawsuit he filed against his former accountants, whom he had accused of making deals without his consent and falling behind on paying taxes and other sums—including workers' compensation to Jacko's employees—on his behalf, according to a document filed April 14 in L.A. Superior Court.

The paperwork does not state whether Jackson reached a settlement in his dispute with the firm of Bernstein, Fox, Whitman, Goldman & Sloan (he was asking for damages in the hundreds of thousands), or if he dropped the case for other reasons.

A countersuit filed the day after Jackson lodged his complaint, alleging the singer had rung up a $1 million tab with the company and failed to pay, has already been dismissed.

On [his children] Connor and Bella reading tabloid reports about Cruise:”They love me, so they know. Don’t live in that because today is a new day and there’s plenty of tomorrows. They’re good people, my children. I’m proud of them.I don’t want them to worry. They know I’m there. No matter what, I’m always there.”

On dressing like Santa to surprise Suri: “I open the door, and I’m giving my best, ‘Oh, merry Christmas! Oh, look at this little girl,’ and Suri looks at me, and she says, ‘No – Dada!’ So that night, we were putting Suri down. Kate says, ‘How was it? Did you like it? I’m more of a goofball. I’m sillier, not sillier in a bad way, but sillier in a good way. I think that when I do interviews, I always try to be cautious about what I’m saying, because I’m so silly that my words can be spun around so easily and sound totally the wrong way when I really just mean something harmless.

So, I think I’m cautious when I’m doing interviews, which makes me seem much more serious, but that’s just because I’m being careful.”

Full Disclosure

As we all know by now, Tom Cruise returned to The Oprah Winfrey Show yesterday in part 1 of a 2-part interview (the second half will air on Monday). In the interview, Tom attempted to explain his crazy antics of the past few years since he, very famously, jumped on Oprah's couch and ushered in a new era of cruiseazy. I was very impressed with how honest Tom was being with Oprah in this new interview ... first, he revealed to the Big O that Suri Holmes-Cruise (his alleged "daughter") isn't really a human being at all, his direct quote was "She really is just magic." Additionally, Tom showed Oprah the cute little closet that he and wifey Katie Holmes keep little Suri in when she goes out of sight for months at a time ... here are a few screenshots from that exchange:

You know, Tom may still be cruiseazy as hell but I at least can respect the man for being so open at long last. And honestly, that little closet doesn't look so bad ... I bet lil' Suri really loves it in there. Yeah.

Who Says You Can't Go Home Again?

Awww and Yay! Here are a few photos of Britney Spears relaxin' at her family home Serenity in Kentwood, LA this weekend. Brit Brit made the journey back home to Louisiana reportedly to attend her little sister Jamie Lynn Spears's baby shower. Due to her long estrangement from her mother Lynne Spears for most of last year, Britters hadn't been back home to Kentwood since early 2007. Check out there photos of Britney, puffin' on a cig, chillin' out with some family members on the lanai:

Britney Spears is home again: The pop star left California on Friday and returned to her hometown of Kentwood, La. – her first trip back since before her hospitalization and custody battles of the past year, a source tells PEOPLE. Also in town is Spears's father, Jamie, who remains in legal control of her affairs until a July 31 hearing. The singer's arrival in her home state comes as sources say there is a planned baby shower over the weekend for her 17-year-old sister Jamie Lynn, who announced her pregnancy in December. Spears, 26, last visited Kentwood in early 2007 for her aunt's funeral.

I cannot tell you how AMAZING it is to see Britney back in the bosom of her family life. Irregardless of who was wrong/what went down to cause the rift between Britney and her family, I am just thrilled that the wounds seem to be healed (or at least are healing nicely) and she is able to, once again, enjoy the fruits of her family's love. I realize that this weekend is prolly all about JL Spears and the bun in her oven but I'm just really geeked about our dear Britney being home again. Woot!

Busted! Peaches' Drug Shame!

British celebuspawn Peaches Geldof (her dad is Sir Bob Geldof — old school rocker/founder of renowned mega_shok.gifs charity concert LiveAid) is in some deep shit with London police.

The popo have video of Peaches buying what is assumed to be cocaine from Amy Winhouse's dealers.

According to reports, the footage shows her handing over about $400 in cash for some drugs and saying, “I’m going to need Valium tomorrow after this.” People who use drugs recreationally are known to use Valium to 'come down' from being high.

AND, get this…

The Peaches vid was actually on the SAME TAPE as the Wino smoking crack footage!!!

The cops had seized it from a boyfriend-girlfriend duo as part of their investigation into what police suspect is a celebrity drugs empire run by the twosome. The guy, Jonny, is also known to be good 'friends' with Amy's Blaaaake.

Double reason not to like the guy!

We wonder — are there any other celebs tokin, snortin or shooting up on THAT tape?! We also wonder what other celebs are going to be taken down in this sting.

Police are reportedly bringing Peaches in for questioning this week.

Sadly, Peaches' mom, Paula Yates, a UK celeb TV host, died of a heroine overdose eight years ago. Many assumed that her mother's tragic downfall would deter the celebuspawn from drug use. In fact, she previously made the following statement about drug use on a UK TV show,“Teenagers today have nothing to rebel against. They are rebelling in taking drugs and drinking and partying and not really changing anything. They’re not really making a mark on society and I think that’s wrong.”

Peaches' dad will likely give her an ass kicking before she even gets to police questioning. He's said in the past, he would “go ####### ballistic” if his daughter ever sets down the same drug using road that killed her mother.

Time for rehab, Peaches!

He's Still The Greatest

It was his diva weekend!

Kanyeizzle is taking to his blog to explain walking offstage at his Houston concert this past weekend and to sorta apologize for his rant against Entertainment Weekly magazine.

Oh, yeah, and he also took it as opportunity to remind us all (once again) how great he is!

Says Kanye:

"HOUSTON I LOVE YOU!

Don't believe the hype! When I started the show the other night we were having a lot of technical issues due 2 the heat. The 2 huge screens on both sides of the stage were glaring bright blue like when your DVD player acts up at home. I asked for them 2 turn the screens off 3 times because it was distracting 2 the show. The fans were not getting what they paid for. I admit, in my frustration, I did use profanity on the 4th time I asked. I stopped the show 2 go over and check it out myself. After the screens were turned off I started the same song from the beginning. The screens were eventually fixed 5 songs in but it was definitely better 2 have them blacked out rather than bright blue. Unfortunately for certain media outlets, you will never be able 2 'Michael Jackson' me. That means 2 make it seem like everything I do is so weird or out of place… they always try 2 make it seem like everything is about my ego! That joke is getting old. At a certain point you have 2 respect that I'm one of the last artist that still cares about the fans having the best time of there lives! Thanks 2 Bossip and Perez for taking it easy on me on the EW spaz… I did go in a little 2 much on that one. I'm sure there are some cool people who work over there and had nothing 2 do with that review. With all that said…. "I'm still the greatest!!!" lol!! Oh and I was in the studio with T.I. last night…. so get ready!!! "
