Pete Doherty Released from Jail

Look out London – Pete Doherty is back on the streets!

The Babyshambles frontman, 29, was released from a London jail Tuesday, the Associated Press reports. He had served 29 days of his 14-week sentence for violating his probation.

Following a series of drug busts, the singer has become a fixture in the London judicial system.

Last October, Kate Moss's ex pleaded guilty to possession of crack cocaine, heroin, ketamine and cannabis – plus driving infringements. He was given a suspended sentence and ordered to enter a 12-month treatment program.

But after repeated probation violations, he was sent to jail early last month (forcing him to cancel a high-profile gig at the Royal Albert Hall).

"His luck finally ran out," a friend told PEOPLE at the time.

Naomi Watts: Nicole and I 'Compare Notes' on Pregnancy

Nicole Kidman is preparing to give birth for the first time – and luckily she has Naomi Watts to talk her through it.

"Whenever you're pregnant, you always call on your pregnant friends and compare notes," the 39-year-old Watts – who gave birth to son Alexander Pete last July – told PEOPLE Monday at a press conference to discuss her new role as the face of Angel, a fragrance by designer Thierry Mugler. "It's what happens in friendship."

So will Kidman, 40 – who's expecting her first child with husband Keith Urban – be a good mom?

"Of course!" said Watts. In fact, since the Oscar-winner has two adopted children, Isabella and Connor, with her ex-husband Tom Cruise, "She's already a great mum."

While little Alexander – whose dad is actor Liev Schreiber – didn't put in an appearance at the event, Watts said he's growing up fast.

"He's turning pages in the book," she said proudly. "He's crawling and standing up. He can wave. I read Goodnight Moon to him every night."

Stars to Celebrate Nelson Mandela's 90th Birthday at London Concert

To ring in his 90th birthday, Nelson Mandela will have some pretty big guests – Will Smith, Oprah Winfrey and Robert De Niro, for starters – at his star-studded concert in London's Hyde Park next month.

At the June 27 show, performers such as Leona Lewis, Annie Lennox, Dame Shirley Bassey, Queen, Simple Minds and Kirsten Dunst's ex, Johnny Borrell and his band Razorlight, will rock the stage. Other attendees include Bill Clinton and Forest Whitaker.

Though none of the British royals are on the guest list yet for security reasons, it's likely that Prince William and Prince Harry, along with their father Charles, will fete the former President of South Africa as well.

The concert comes three weeks before Mandela's actual birthday, and proceeds will go to his charity, 46664, which helps people affected by HIV and AIDS. 46664 was Mandela's prisoner number during his 27-year incarceration (which ended in 1990) by South Africa's apartheid regime.

Gossip Girl: Shocking Secrets Revealed!

Things are getting intense at the Van der Woodsen home! Gossip Girl was right when she said, “the truth always comes out,” on Monday’s shocker of an episode — especially when Georgina Sparks (Michelle Trachtenberg) is in town! Not only did she out young Eric Van der Woodsen (Connor Paolo) at the dinner table, she also blackmailed his sister Serena (Blake Lively) by threatening to tell their dark and dirty secret. But pushed to her limits, Serena ultimately confided in her best friend Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) and revealed a truth more shocking than a sex tape. “I killed someone,” she said. Looks like Serena’s in for a rough patch thanks to her frenemy, but coming out and confronting the truth may actually be a good thing for her little brother. In his first interview since the show aired, PEOPLE spoke with Connor Paolo, 17, who plays Eric and asked him about portraying a gay teenager on television, what will happen next with Georgina’s reign of terror and how Eric’s coming out also brings out another truth: Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) may actually be a nice guy. –Liza Hamm

How does it feel to be playing a gay character on a popular TV show?
I’m an actor and it’s a part. Being gay is nothing but another way to live your life. It’s just who he is.

A lot of gay teens will be excited to see someone gay on the show. Are you ready for that?
I guess it’s a possibility that fans could take Eric’s coming into his own as a source of inspiration. He does it with a degree of gentility and self-respect. He doesn’t make apologies for who he is.

Did the fact that he tried to kill himself earlier have anything to do with being gay?
As the actor portraying Eric, I don’t believe that I tried to commit suicide because of that. Eric is 14 so his decision to be gay could be permanent. It might not be. It’s about finding yourself. At the moment, this is who he sees himself as … that’s very empowering.

How will the news play out in the next few episodes?
My issues get swept under the rug in the face of Georgina. She has information about my family that no one else is privy to. Dealing with Georgina becomes the main focus because things become very, very hairy.

How will the other characters react to the news? Everyone okay with it?
Each character has their own reaction. It does seem to create a rift between me and Jenny. Chuck steps up as big brother though.

So this brings out the nicer side of Chuck?
Eric’s relationship with Chuck is a vehicle for seeing that he does have a good side. He can be a good person when duty calls. Chuck seems to really care about Eric. It’s a time when Eric feels very alone. Chuck does not push him away as many other people are inclined to do. Eric gets to have a good time with Chuck. Most people have been coddling him because they think he’s a suicide risk, Chuck is totally open to let Eric enjoy his life rather than try to preserve it.

But there are going to be some intense discussions about the fact he’s gay, right?
Is there ever a Gossip Girl [episode] without them?

When did you find out your character was gay?
I was told about a month ago. Two of the producers explained the situation. It seemed like a good thing. Up to this point, I’ve had a volatile role on the show. Sometimes, I’m there. Sometimes, I’m not. It’s the producers giving me more screen time and a chance to prove myself as an actor — so I wanted to make sure I delivered.

Did you have to keep it a secret?
We tried to keep it under wraps as long as possible.

How did that go?
Pretty well, actually. The cast has as much to lose by secrets getting out. There’d been a lot of conjecture but no real facts had been slipped.

What helped you prepare for this episode?
I feel like I know Eric better than most people so I drew on my knowledge of the character. I did have some conversations with Stephanie [Savage, the executive producer] and Joe [Lazarov, also a producer] working out the ins and outs of how this developed.

Britney Relaxes at Alicia Keys Concert in L.A.

Britney Spears blew off a little pre-courtroom steam Monday at the Alicia Keys concert.

Expected to attend a Tuesday progress review hearing in Los Angeles family court with her ex, Kevin Federline, Spears decided to have a little fun first.

The singer arrived at the Staples Center at 8:30 p.m. with mom Lynne, her assistant, and two bodyguards and parked in an underground VIP parking lot to avoid photographers. There was no sign of sister Jamie Lynn Spears, who just celebrated her baby shower with her big sis in Kentwood, La., last weekend.

Spears – who according to one onlooker looked pretty and seemed psyched to be there – missed the opening act, Ne-Yo, but got there in time to clap when Keys took the stage and to get up and bop to the tunes.

Benji & Paris Dodge Engagement Rumors

Hard rocking Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden isn't settling down – for now.

With twin brother Joel Madden holding off on marrying the mother of his child, girlfriend Nicole Richie, Benji is playing coy when it comes to wedding bells with girlfriend of two and a half months, Paris Hilton.

"We have a really great friendship, you know, and romance, all of it," Benji, 29, told PEOPLE at Monday's Hornitos Cinco de Mayo party in West Hollywood, when asked if he and Hilton wanted to escalate their relationship beyond dating.

"We're really happy," Madden says. "We're lucky. We're just enjoying it, you know?"

Hilton, who was hand in hand with Madden at the bash, was equally tight-lipped about their romantic future.

"We're very in love," Hilton said, smiling, wearing her trademark sparkler "BM" ring on her ring finger, for Madden's initials.

Asked if they had gone engagement ring shopping, Madden laughed and said, "Come on, man, you know."

Inside the party, brothers Joel and Benji sat with Paris around a circular booth and grooved to pal Samantha Ronson's DJ set while new mom Richie stayed home.

Also at the party: Lindsay Lohan, The Hills' Lauren Conrad and Lauren Bosworth, Dave Annable, and Jane's Addiction's Perry Ferrell.

Joel says he doesn't rule out Hilton and Benji unexpectedly tying the knot.

"Those two are crazy," Joel says. "They do the unexpected, so who knows? Obviously, me and Nicole have been together longer, but we have no plans yet, so who knows."

Paris Is 'Very Supportive'
Brothers Madden hit the road this summer for an international tour with their band Good Charlotte to promote their fourth album, Good Morning Revival. Hilton says she'll be joining the band on tour.

"She's a very supportive woman," says Benji. "Whenever we go out there ... she's part of the team. She's great. It definitely makes touring easier. She's like the best teammate you could have, she's very supportive. So, I'm blessed."

Hilton and Madden's whirlwind romance continued this past weekend in Orlando, Fla., where the couple hit thrill rides at Walt Disney World.

They have already toured Africa and Europe together this year.

"We went on every single ride, like three times each," Hilton said.

Adds Madden, "I know we probably sound cheesy, but we're such happy guys right now. We have so much to be happy about. Our families, all the babies, (bandmate) Billy just got married. All of us are in love. We're a happy band."

Ugly Betty Moving to New York?

Ugly Betty is set in New York — and now the show may actually be filmed there.

An on-set source tells PEOPLE that the ABC comedy will pack up and move east. “They are moving production of the show to New York City because it will be cheaper,” the source says. “The only cast member that may be in question if he’s moving or not is Eric Mabius.” Mabius plays Daniel Meade, the editor of the fictional fashion magazine, Mode. His assistant Betty Suarez (America Ferrera) lives with her family in Queens, N.Y.

But a rep for the show says nothing is certain. “No final decision has been made,” a rep for the studio says. “We are exploring options and incentives that make sense for the show and the business.”

Filming for Ugly Betty’s third season will begin in the Big Apple in July. Lindsay Lohan is set to star in five episodes that season. Her character will be introduced in the show’s season finale. “She’ll play a mean girl from high school who suddenly resurfaces in Betty’s life,” a rep for the show tells PEOPLE.

Fur Shame! Is Lindsay Lohan a Coat Thief?

Did Lindsay Lohan swipe a stranger's mink coat for three weeks – then wear it on the town?

According to a New York Post report, Masha Markova, 22, is suggesting just that – saying it all started when she attended a private party at New York nightspot 1Oak along with Lohan.

Markova, a student at Columbia University, put down her $11,000 blond mink coat with other partygoers' jackets at the Jan. 26 bash – and thought it was gone for good after she couldn't find it at the end of the night.

But Markova tells the Post she was flipping through a February magazine when she saw Lohan sporting the distinctive coat. "It was my coat. It was no doubt," she said.

So, Markova's lawyer, Merrill Cohen, called Lohan's attorney, Blair Berk, and threatened legal action. Hours later, 1Oak phoned.

Said Markova: "They were very discreet, never mentioned a name or even the word 'coat.' They just said, 'We're going to bring you something.'"

Two days later, the coat, smelling of cigarettes and booze, arrived at her apartment with a tear in the lining. And while Markova is pleased with the return of her mink – which she subsequently dry-cleaned and patched up – she wants Lohan to apologize – and pay at least $10,000 in a "rental" fee.

"I don't see how it could have been an accident," Markova told the Post.

Lohan's rep did not return phone calls.

Mariah and Nick Do Have a Prenup

Mariah Carey may seem like she’s on her own sparkly pink planet where unicorns prance freely and rivers flow with rainbow-colored sugar water, but girlfriend’s got some survival instincts tucked in that brain of hers.

Somewhere between her right frontal cortex and wherever it is she stores the names of Sanrio characters, Mariah has squirreled away the term prenup, and, despite speculation, she reportedly has put it to use.

Mariah apparently told a friend that anyone who thinks she and Nick Cannon didn’t have a prenup “is smoking something!"

Sorry, Nick. Better love up that Barbie Dream House while you’re still living in it.

The Olsens: There Can Be Only One

It must have been Mary-Kate's headband that did her in.

Apprarently, when Maxim releases its upcoming Hot 100 List, Ashley Olsen will have made the cut, but not her twin.

Now, whether either of them should be on there is open for debate, but seriously, how do you choose one over the other? Who can even tell them apart in the first place? (We think that's Ash to the left at the Met Costume Gala with designer Christian Louboutin.)

What's more, sources tell the New York Post that not only does Ashley (at No. 47) smoke out her other half, she manages to rank higher than Jessica Simpson (No. 53), who, in turn, gets beat out by her sibling, Ashlee (No. 18).

No word yet on who takes the top spot, but let's hope, for her sake, she doesn't have a celebrity sister.

MTV Movie Awards Brought to You by Team Apatow

This year's crop of MTV Movie Award nominees are so bad—so Superbad—they're good.

One of the raunchiest films to feature Judd Apatow's imprimatur (which is no small feat, mind you), raked in a leading five nominations today for the 2008 MTV Movie Awards, including the coveted Golden Popcorn for Best Movie.

Stars Jonah Hill and Michael Cera each scored individual nominations for Breakthrough Performance for their roles as sex-seeking high school students. They'll compete against Superbad writer-producer and fellow Apatow repertory player Seth Rogen, who was nominated in the same category for his very different role as a sex-seeking twentysomething in Knocked Up.

Hill and Rogen will also go head-to-head in the Best Comedic Performance category, while Cera scored a Best Male Performance nod for his Apatow-free performance in the critical darling Juno.

Juno itself scored a second-best four nominations.

The indie comedy's Oscar-nominated star, Ellen Page, matched Cera's individual honor with a Best Female Performance nomination, while the duo also walked away with a nod—and, perhaps, a wink—for Best Kiss. The film rounded out its nominations as a contender for Best Movie.

Meanwhile, a slew of films raked in three nominations, including Enchanted, Knocked Up, Transformers and the final effort from the MTV crowd's perennial favorite franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.

In addition to scoring a Best Movie nomination, Pirates also resulted in some booty for stars Keira Knightley and Johnny Depp, who took home a Best Female Performance and Best Comedic Performance nomination, respectively.

Depp also doubled his pleasure with a Best Villain nod for his blood-soaked titular barber in Sweeney Todd.

Meanwhile, one of the ceremony's most recent category additions, Best Summer Movie So Far, may well need to change its name to Best Summer Movie Yet to be Released.

While Iron Man has rightly made the list, coming off a boffo opening weekend, the remaining nominations—Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Sex and the City: The Movie, Speed Racer and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian—have yet to hit the Cineplex.

Cruise Cleared for New Mission

Here's one Mission we really thought was impossible: Tom Cruise and Sumner Redstone working together again.

Despite severing his 14-year business relationship with Cruise in 2006—a year after Mission: Impossible III blew up at the box office and Cruise bounced around Oprah's couch—Viacom overlord Redstone now says he's amenable to having the A-lister lead a fourth installment of the money-grabbing franchise.

"That's really up to Brad Grey, who runs Paramount," Redstone told reporters at the Seoul Digital Forum conference in South Korea.
"I consider Tom Cruise a great actor and a good friend," he added. "And if Paramount decides—and they will make the decision—to move ahead with him, I will not object."

Redstone cited a string of oddball behavior, ranging from sofa hopping to Brooke Shields bashing, as the reason behind ending Cruise's lucrative development deal with Viacom-owned Paramount Pictures.

"He was embarrassing the studio. And he was costing us a lot of money," Redstone groused to Vanity Fair at the time.
Cruise, 45, and Redstone, 84, have worked on patching things up. The two were spotted dining out in Beverly Hills back in March, which first sparked speculation that Ethan Hunt could be brought out of mothballs.

Joel Celebrates Cinco de Mayo Solo

Celebs not invited to the fancy-schmancy Costume Institute gala in New York spent their Cinco de Mayo at the Hornitos tequila soiree in Los Angeles instead. The party, cohosted by Joel and Benji Madden, was held at new Hollywood hot spot Crown Bar, with Samantha Ronson on the turntables.

Benji brought along his attached-at-the-hip honey Paris Hilton, but Nicole Richie stayed home to babysit Harlow while Joel carried out his hosting duties.

Meanwhile, Lindsay Lohan arrived with BFF Sam and snagged a table right next to the DJ booth. And although she proceeded to talk to Joel, they looked strictly friendly, despite what the photo suggests. "He is so devoted to Nicole, and that baby was all he talked about," says a source.

In fact, when Joel left the party, he told guests he'd be getting up early the next morning to watch Harlow so Nic could sleep in. He did kiss Lindsay goodbye, but on the cheek.

Still, L.L.'s table proved a popular hangout:

Lauren Conrad and Lauren Bosworth also spent time there. Both girls skipped the carpet and snuck in through another entrance. They probably didn't want to field questions about whether Audrina Patridge is really moving out of their house, as last night's Hills episode seemed to suggest.

But it looks like L.C. may have some explaining to do: She was spotted making out with a mystery man at the bash...and we're not talking reported new beau Doug Reinhardt! Do tell, Lauren!

Sex's New Girl Jennifer Hudson Is a Lousy Lackey

Jennifer Hudson is a busy diva. Her new single, "Spotlight," comes out this month, and her album drops in September, but whatever. Big news is that she plays Carrie's new assistant, Louise, in the Sex and the City movie.

Right, assistant. The Idol fave and Oscar winner, talking to E! News at this week's press day for Sex, is totally not used to taking orders. So she did a little research.

To get into assistant mode, Hudson swapped places with her own underling, in character: "I would answer the phone, 'Hello, this is Louise speaking. Can I help you?' "

She's not geek squad material either, despite her character's tech prowess. "I'm not a computer genius like Louise, and I'm not as organized, so don't be fooled," she says.

"You don't want me to be your assistant."

Simon Cowell: Being Famous Is "Fantastic"

Hey, all you famous folks out there who complain about the constant attention: Simon Cowell wants you to just deal with it.

Anyone who complains about invasion of privacy shouldn't work in the entertainment business. You can't have it both ways."

Maybe if the Brit with such wit were, say, a famous young woman in her 20s followed relentlessly by paparazzi, he might feel differently.

But to be fair, he does point out, "We live right now in what I consider to be a fame epidemic. Everybody wants to be famous. That's part of the fun. There's something fascinating watching and hearing somebody who is obviously useless, but believes for whatever reason that they're incredible. I find it addictive."

Ah, a man after our own heart.

Jamie Lynn Goes Out on Top

And for her first baby shower present, Jamie Lynn Spears got a hit Zoey 101. One last time.

The hourlong season—and series—finale of the hit Nick tween comedy, billed as the Zoey 101 movie Chasing Zoey, was the most watched show in the 10,000-show cable universe, averaging 5.1 million viewers, per the latest Nielsen Media Research rankings.

Another Zoey 101 airing after the finale placed second, with 5 million viewers.

The shows aired Friday, the night before the pregnant Spears celebrated a baby shower in Louisiana with her family, elder sister Britney Spears included.

In real life, the 17-year-old Spears is expecting her first out-of-wedlock child this summer. In Zoey life, Spears' character went gently into the prom night after sharing a chaste first kiss with her star-crossed crush, Sean Flynn's Chase Matthews.

As previously announced, Zoey's just-concluded fourth season was its last.

One of Nick's top shows, the comedy only got bigger with its with-child star. January's season opener, airing a month after the Spears pregnancy story broke, averaged a series-best 7.3 million viewers.

Orlando Bloom's Babe Won't Kiss and Tell

Miranda Kerr may be the face of Victoria’s Secret new fragrance, Heavenly Kiss, but don’t ask her who she’s been kissing lately.

Questions about boyfriend Orlando Bloom were off limits earlier today when Kerr was promoting the scent at L.A.’s Grove mall.

Then how about smooching in general, like what makes a good kisser?

“Chemistry,” Kerr said.

Okay, so what makes for good chemistry?

“I don’t know."

So much for that.

Kerr, however, doesn't mind talking about the self-help book she is writing. “It’s pretty much about nutrition and also about really treasuring ourselves as women and realizing that we really shouldn’t deprive ourselves,” she explained. “I mean, life is short so we should really enjoy it. And if we want something, have it in moderation.”

If all else fails, Kerr has chanting to fall back on. Kerr, a Buddhist, said: “I chant every morning and night. I find it extremely grounding and centering.”

Ah, that explains how she managed to deflect pesky questions about mack sessions with her A-list boy-toy without breaking a sweat.

Heath Ledger's "Joker" Dolls Sell Out

Heath Ledger dolls are selling out all over New York.

Trying to downplay the Joker sellout, Bob Friedland, a Toys 'R' Us spokesman said, "We are getting these products, all of the Dark Knight action figures, on a regular basis."

But the stores are running out quickly.

One employee for Toys 'R' Us saya, "There are none left in the warehouse, either. You will be waiting a while if you want one."

Many stores are still left waiting for shipments to arrive.

A spokeswoman for FAO Schwarz said her NY store had none of the figures yet.

The impossible to acquire Joker figures are being sold in stores for $9.99. And some are already being sold on ebay!

If people's interest in the dolls and remembering Heath is any indication, the new Batman film is gonna do boffo box office.

Likely To BOMB!

The latest film directed by the "mysterious" Wachowski brothers, Speed Racer, might not do as well as hoped for in the box office this weekend.

The BIG budget movie will open this Friday in about 3,600 screens across the U.S.

Unfortunately for the film, it's been receiving very unimpressive ratings in its pre-release surveys.

So will Iron Man win at the box office this weekend again?

Last weekend, Iron Man made over $100 million!

At the moment, Speed Racer seems like it will gross about $25-$35 million during its opening weekend, though it might gross more. But, estimates are low.

This is a BIG disappointed considering how much it cost to make the race car comic book adaptation - well over $100 million, easily.

So, even if Iron Man makes only half of what it did last weekend, it's still likely to come in first again and beat out Speed Racer.

Ouch!

Warner Bros. domestic distribution president, Dan Fellman, says, "It's too early to tell. But this is the first real family movie of the summer, and we're going to give it our best."

Translation: "We're f***ed. And we know it!"

“They’re always, always kind. And I think to see me on the streets of New York, in a place that they might imagine the character would be—it makes people feel good.”

On children being fair game for paparazzi: “[It’s become more prevalent] over the last four years, even more so the last 24 months. Now we just kind of eat it. It’s like empty calories. It’s s—. And it’s so base. I feel very ashamed, I feel like I’m like a—the town trollop. It makes me feel ashamed of my work. And I’m not. But I’m attached to this culture now in a way that, it’s kind of vulgar. And I feel cheapened. And I feel like I’m cheapening the school, like I’m bringing dirt, like I’m bad for the neighborhood.”

Guess they won’t be seeing Sex and the City that day!

“No ties at my wedding,” Sheen, 43, recently said of his plans to have a casual wedding ceremony. “It’s going to be hot. I want people to be comfortable.”

The couple met at a party in early 2006 not long after Charlie separated from his then-wife, Denise Richards. He proposed to the real estate investor with a $500,000 ring in July of 2007.

Ed Westwick: From Actor to Landscape Gardener

Gossip Girl’s resident troublemaker Ed Westwick, aka Chuck Bass, answered 17 questions for Seventeen magazine — everything from his first kiss to his dream job. Here are some highlights:

On his first kiss: “Um … 6? Well, what are we talking, we’re not talking proper kiss, right? Okay, 6 and … 10. No, is that bad? Should I say 11? I’m pure and innocent.”

On his celebrity crush: “Scarlett Johansson — she has been for a while, and always will be. I love her style.” (Too bad she’s engaged now!)

On his dream job: “Probably landscape gardening. I think gardens are fantastic, and I’d love to draw and design and stuff like that. I love just planting flowers during the summer. There’s something very humble about it, and natural and beautiful. When I need to think of like a peaceful scene or something, I think of my back garden in summertime. And whenever I hear the lawnmower next door, I always think it’s really peaceful.”

On his worst habit: “I bite my nails. I’ve been chewing on them for years. As long as you don’t chew through flesh it’s all right. I wouldn’t want a manicure. I’m a man’s man!

Death & The City

The movie isn't out for a few more weeks, and already the buzz is deafening!

The Sex and the City film has raised intense speculation as to what's going to happen! The plot, the plot, the plot!

One of the latest rumors circulating around is that there might be a death, and it might happen to someone you wouldn't suspect.

*Spoiler Alert*

If you don't want to find out if someone will or will not die, do not continue reading below.

Rumors continue that unfortunately for Mr. Big, he's the one who will kick the bucket.

But, the film's director, Michael Patrick King, wants to put these rumors to an end already.

King says, "Kill Mr. Big? I would have been chased around the planet by women with torches. I did want an emotional roller-coaster. But my ultimate target was to make our 'girlfriends', in other words, our audience, happy. And I don't think Mr. Big dying would make them happy."

And what about the rumors that one of the main ladies will get killed? Such as the one circulating that Charlotte would be killed in "a freak tennis accident"?

To that King adds, "It's a summer movie. Why would I want to kill anyone?"

Thank goodness!!!!!!

Bye, Bye Nicole

Fames fragrance Chanel No. 5 is swapping out Nicole Kidman for Audrey Tatou as the face of the iconic perfume.

The French actress was such a no-brainer choice.

She's so French and chic, two words that come to mind when we think Chanel!

Chanel is re-teaming Audrey with Amelie director Jean-Pierre Jeunet for her 2009 commercial TV debut as brand whore.

Congrats!

Lots More Drama From the Hills Heading Our Way

Lauren Conrad was busy running errands yesterday in LA before her big Cinco de Mayo bash, but the real action took place last night on The Hills. As usual, there was drama with Spencer and Heidi while tensions between housemates Lauren, Lo and Audrina escalated despite the introduction of their new puppy Chloe — but were you paying attention to the gadgets, the makeup, and the fashion? Lucky for us, we can look forward to lots more of all those things, because the show just got picked up for a fourth season that will start in August.

Shia Might Be 2007's Best Kisser and 2008's Biggest Blockbuster Star

Shia was a rising star last year with breakout hits like Transformers and Disturbia. In fact, those movies earned him multiple MTV Movie Award nominations, which were announced today. As flattering as this may be, he's about to step it up with Indy 4. A new trailer was released, and the anticipation is growing steadily. Shia is laying low now in NYC all scruffy in flannel, but in a few weeks he'll be dolled up (hopefully without the slicked back hair) for premieres galore and then maybe to accept his Best Kiss award on June 1.

Halle Berry Loves Geoffrey… And Gabriel Too!

Halle Berry and model boyfriend Gabriel Aubry share a romantic cliff-side lunch together in Malibu, California on Tuesday.

The new parents left baby Nahla at home while they dined at Geoffrey’s Malibu.

After lunch, Gabriel, 32, lovingly helped Halle, 41, into the passenger’s seat before hopping behind the driver’s wheel.

Halle will soon return to work and will star in and produce the psychological drama Frankie and Alice. The film follows a woman who has been diagnosed with multiple personality disorder with one of the character’s alter egos being a racist Caucasian. Should be very interesting…

Dancing Music Stops for Mario

Maybe Mario should have played up the fact that he was dancing with an injured shoulder.

The 21-year-old R&B singer, the youngest contestant on Dancing With the Stars to date, was eliminated from the show Tuesday despite landing in the middle of the pack after last night's ballroom-Latin double feature.

"I've had a great time performing on the show. I had a great partner," Mario said, making sure to give props to pal Karina Smirnoff, as well as a shout-out to "the real brave ones"—the U.S. troops stationed in the Middle East.

"Len, thank you for all your comments," he said graciously to the man who yesterday told him he had "bloody big, ugly" feet. "Ultimately, you helped me become a better ballroom dancer."

He was a better dancer than Jason Taylor and Marissa Jaret Winokur—last night, anyway—but both of his lower-scoring cocontestants made it into next week's semifinals, along with Kristi Yamaguchi and surprise leaderboard-topper Cristián de la Fuente.

Producers Shut Actors Down

The studios have heard enough for now.

After going into extra innings, talks between the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers, which reps major studios and networks, and the Screen Actors Guild shut down Tuesday afternoon, with the alliance calling the union's demand for higher residuals from DVDs and Internet content (sound familiar?) "unreasonable."

SAG's current deal expires June 30 and the two sides have been toiling away for 18 days, looking to avoid a repeat of the all-too-recent writers' strike.

"Unfortunate," was how SAG referred to the breakdown in a brief statement.

"In the end, this round of SAG negotiations ended without an agreement because SAG simply refused to recognize the fundamental business and labor principles that have already been accepted by directors, writers and producers," the AMPTP said in a statement.

"Under these circumstances, with SAG's continued adherence to unreasonable demands in both new and traditional media, continuing negotiations at this time does not make sense."

The alliance will instead begin talks tomorrow with the American Federation of TV and Radio Artists, which postponed its own negotiations twice to give SAG more time at the table.

The AMPTP has offered to continue talks after it has hammered out a new contract with AFTRA, which opted this year to enter negotiations separate from the bigger and more influential SAG, despite the fact that they share about 44,000 members.

SAG is reportedly requesting even larger cuts of new-media profits than the directors and writers received, while reps for AFTRA sound primed to get in and get out.

"We're very realistic about what's on the table, what's in the business, what we're after and how we're going to get it," AFTRA president Roberta Reardon told the L.A. Times earlier today.

Scarlett Johansson Shows Off New Engagement Ring

Newly engaged Scarlett Johansson showed off her round, white diamond ring from Ryan Reynolds at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala in New York City on Monday.

Wearing an ivory D&G dress, the actress, 23, was escorted by designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. (Reynolds, 31, was in Boston filming the aptly titled comedy The Proposal.)

(See more hot engagement bling here.)

On her way to the bash, she hugged Aussie actress Naomi Watts, who couldn't help but notice Johansson's glow.

"You look gorgeous!" Watts told her.

Though Johansson skipped press, her colleagues couldn't stop gushing.

Her Lost In Translation director, Sofia Coppola, wished the star "congratulations.

"That's great news!" she told Us.

"I'm really excited for her!" actress Amanda Peet told Us. "They're both genius actors, and she's friend with my friend. Yay!"

Added designer Marc Jacobs (who has worked with the actress), "I'm really happy for her. If she's in love, that's great. I just hope that she's happy and wish her all the best."

Not everyone was psyched the actress was getting hitched.

"Damn, I'm very disappointed!" Gossip Girl's Ed Westwick joked to Us. "I missed my chance. That boat has sailed."

Chris Brown to Photog: Back Up Off My Lady!

To add to the crazy Chris Brown bodyguard beat down, a source who was at Chris's birthday party says that the security who allegedly man-handled the photog did so, because the photog opened the door as Rihanna and Chris had just gotten into the car, startling everyone.

Security thought that Luis Santana, the cameraman, was attempting to enter the vehicle and went into action. For his part, Santana says that a window (not a door) was down and he tried to peek in and take a picture. He says Chris actually began chasing him, and that's when security took over.

Hey, if Rihanna was sitting next to you, you'd try to protect her umbrella too!

Russell Simmons Responds to Kimora's Divorce Filing

Russell Simmons has filed a response to his estranged wife Kimora Lee's divorce petition in a Los Angeles court Tuesday, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE.

The hip-hop mogul, whose legal papers cite irreconcilable differences, is seeking joint physical and legal custody of his and Lee's daughters, Ming, 8, and Aoki, 5. The couple married in 1998.

In her divorce filing in March, Lee, 33, requested that Simmons, 50, get "reasonable child visitation ... to be accompanied at all times by the children's nanny and security personnel."

Both parties are asking the court to deny spousal support for the other.

At the time of their initial separation in 2006, Simmon said in a statement: "Kimora and I will remain committed parents and caring friends with great love and admiration for each other."

Lee is now dating Djimon Hounsou.

Simmons's filing was first reported by CelebTV.com.

Nicole Richie: Joel Handles Most of Harlow's Diapers

Nicole Richie says her entire life revolves around new baby Harlow – with one exception.

"Joel actually changes more diapers than I do," the new mom says of boyfriend Joel Madden, in an interview with Extra airing Thursday. "It's his time with her. He sings to her .... He laughs with her, plays with her. It's amazing."

Otherwise, Harlow, who was born in January, is at the center of the TV personality's life.

"Everything I do is for her," Richie, 26, tells Extra. "I was so excited from the minute I found out I was pregnant ... and it's been nothing but an amazing ride since."

Although Richie is the first in her circle of friends to have a baby, "I feel like my group of five to 10 friends, they really love her, like she's theirs ... My friends never go outside for smoke breaks anymore, they don't curse, they are definitely more demure. It's actually been really interesting."

Amy Winehouse Arrested for Alleged Drug Offenses

Amy Winehouse has been arrested in connection with alleged drug offenses and is being questioned by police in East London, her rep told the BBC on Wednesday.

A statement to PEOPLE from the singer's U.S. spokesperson said, "Amy Winehouse voluntarily attended a London police station today by appointment. She was arrested in order to be interviewed and is cooperating fully with inquiries. The interview relates to a video handed to police earlier this year."

In January 2008, after being caught on camera allegedly doing drugs, the soul diva, 24, entered rehab.

Late last month, she spent a night in police custody in London after being cautioned for "common assault," a law official told PEOPLE.

In an interview this past Friday – following reports the singer would perform the new James Bond title song – her music producer, Mark Ronson said Winehouse was "not ready to record any music."

Listen to Lindsay Lohan's New Song 'Bossy'

In her first new tune from her upcoming album, Lindsay Lohan sings about her assertive personality – and she's giving PEOPLE an early listen to the track, "Bossy."

Listen to it here:

Ne-Yo wrote the synth-heavy dance track with the actress in mind, he tells PEOPLE exclusively.

"I wrote it for her because when she's on her game, you can see these traits in her. When she's focused, she exudes the aura of a boss with ease," Ne-Yo explains. "When [producer] Stargate and I were approached with the task, we viewed it as a challenge. 'Can we make a song for Lindsay Lohan that people were gonna take seriously?' I think we did it."

In the song's chorus, Lohan unapologetically sings, "I'm just a little bossy. I like it how I like it when I like it and that's how it is."

Ne-Yo says the song is about strength. "It's basically about a woman being strong enough to get what she wants when she wants it," he tells PEOPLE. "In this case, 'Bossy' is a term that describes confidence and power."

"Bossy" is slated to appear on Lohan's as-yet untitled third album, due on Motown Records later this year.

Scarlett Sings Like 'Tinkerbell on Cough Syrup'

May is shaping up to be a busy month for Scarlett Johansson.

Last week she announced her engagement to actor Ryan Reynolds. And in less than two weeks, the 23-year-old will release her debut album.

Johansson and her music producer, TV on the Radio's David Andrew Sitek, call her sound "Tinkerbell on cough syrup."

Last summer the pair took a road trip from Los Angeles to Maurice, La., where they recorded her album, Anywhere I Lay My Head, – in which she mostly covers classic Tom Waits tunes – in five weeks.

"I'm not trying to prove anything on this album," Johansson says in a statement. "I just love (Tom Waits') music."

The album also features one new track called "Song for Jo," which Johansson wrote with Sitek. "I had never really written a song before. I'd only written poems or short stories," she says.

"It was a memory of someone that's very close to me: a vague and blissful memory of my wanton youth or whatever. It's a song about friendship, I think."

David Bowie sings backup on two tracks: the first single, "Falling Down," and "Fannin Street."

Is Johansson concerned about what her movie fans might think? "I never worry about that kind of thing," she says. "I hope people enjoy it."

Anywhere I Lay My Head is available May 20 on Rhino Records.

Ashton Kutcher Envisions Punk'd: The Movie

Hollywood, beware: Ashton Kutcher isn't done punking.

"I might take it to another level," warns the power behind MTV's Punk'd (for eight years) and E!'s Pop Fiction (since March), talking to Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show Wednesday.

Now that "punk'd" has not only entered the vernacular but made the dictionary, Kutcher, 30, says he was walking down the street the other day when he got an idea for something new to do with it: Punk'd: The Movie.

Kutcher says he has a plan in mind but is keeping it under wraps so as not to spoil anything.

As for the origin of "punk'd," "I made up a word," Kutcher told Seacrest, who noted that Ashton also said he is the "most happyliest" married person on earth.

"My sister calls them Ashton-isms," said Kutcher of the terms he comes up with.

No Costarring with Demi
And though he and Demi Moore – to whom he is "happyly" married – both appeared, albeit in separate scenes, in 2006's dramatic movie Bobby, Kutcher isn't sure they'd work well as costars, because, he reasons, "so much is made of our personal life in the press, I think people would have a hard time disconnecting from the fact that we're together, married, in love ... and so they would have a hard time believing our characters."

In the meantime, besides promoting his new screen comedy with Diaz", What Happens in Vegas, he's involved in a new project with Tyra Banks, about which he would only say that they are "looking for the most beautiful person in the world."

Applicants who believe they fit the bill may post photos on Kutcher's MySpace Celebrity blog.

Anne Hathaway Goes Wild ... for a Movie

Spotted: Anne Hathaway swinging from a rail, dancing and taking shots at over-the-top Chinese eatery Kowloon outside of Boston.

But this wasn't the case of a starlet-gone-wild. Hathaway was working, filming scenes for her comedy Bride Wars, which costars Kate Hudson.

According to Stanley Wong, whose family owns Kowloon, "The scene was very funny. Basically [Hathaway's character]'s on spring break. She's getting drunk and basically making a home video."

The restaurant, a favorite of local sports stars and visiting celebs, is outfitted with palm tree murals and running fountains – and was likely a stand-in for a spring break-like venue. Lauren Birmingham, the restaurant's rep, tells PEOPLE the scene will be used in the film to sabotage Hathaway's character who is getting married the same day as her friend (played by Hudson).

But when the cameras stopped rolling, Hathaway was sweet as can be, Wong says. She even posed for a picture with him. Before filming, "she was really quiet," he says. "And then she really got into the scene!"
