Dark Knight Rises; Will Spider-Man 3 Fall?




At midnight, it comes. With expectations fueled by hundreds of advance sellouts, glorious reviews and Oscar buzz.

The Dark Knight, box-office experts say assuredly, is a $100 million opening-weekend lock—a feat requiring a take of at least $1.4 million every hour for 72 straight hours, a feat accomplished by only 10 movies in Hollywood history.

So far.

"It's just a ripped movie," says Media by the Numbers's Paul Dergarabedian of the latest Batman adventure. "It's not just a superhero movie. It is a crime epic...It kind of transcends that superhero moniker."

The follow-up to Christopher Nolan's franchise restarter, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight returns Christian Bale to Gotham City and casts Heath Ledger as the Joker, a performance, the late actor's last, that is already inspiring Oscar odds. Reviews have been, with few exceptions, raves.

As of today, Fandango said, The Dark Knight was accounting for 94 percent of all its ticket sales. At MovieTickets.com, another online service, the movie was selling tickets at twice the rate of Spider-Man 3, Hollywood's reigning opening weekend champ.

Warner Bros. is giving The Dark Knight every chance to beat Spider-Man 3: It's opening the film at 4,366 theaters, Exhibitor Relations Co. said today, the widest of wide releases ever.

"It's got the room to be a possible record breaker," says the box-office tracking firm's Chad Hartigan.

It'll also have the time. The movie will maximize its opening day by opening at midnight tonight at about 75 percent of its theaters, Hartigan says. From 1:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. Friday, there'll be some 500 Dark Knight screenings nationwide, per Fandango, a handful of which will occur at the previously noted but still eye-opening hour of 6 a.m.

Add it all up, and, perhaps surprisingly, box-office observers expect that come Sunday Spider-Man 3 will still be on top, its record $151.1 million, Friday-Sunday record still intact.

For one main thing, Spider-Man 3, unlike The Dark Knight, opened in early May. Like Iron Man this year, that 2007 movie had nothing but a clear running field in front of it. The Dark Knight, by comparison, is a latecomer, arriving at the beach after some of the choice spots have been hogged by hits such as Hancock and WALL-E.

"Spider-Man 3 is probably out of reach," Hartigan says.

Hartigan thinks The Dark Knight could open in the neighborhood of $125 million, putting it at third all-time. Likewise, Box Office Guru's Gitesh Pandya is looking for an opening of $120 million-plus.

But Spider-Man shouldn't get too comfortable. Another of the Webslinger's records could be in play.

Currently, Spider-Man 3 boasts Hollywood's biggest single-day gross, with $59.8 million, per Box Office Mojo stats. Enter The Dark Knight, primed for a potentially unprecedented Friday, with the round-the-clock screenings, the sellouts (270-plus recorded by MovieTickets.com alone), and this: a stat from Fandago that says 38 percent of Dark Knight fans will "take off a few hours or the entire day" on Friday to catch the movie.

Regardless of how the movie opens, The Dark Knight is not expected to close anytime soon.

"I think The Dark Knight is going to have legs," Dergarabedian says. "It totally deserves it, and it's going to generate terrific word of mouth."

Denise and Charlie's World Turns to Court Again




Charlie Sheen can walk all the red carpets he wants. But Denise Richards has never promised to make it easy for him.

An attorney for the Denise Richards: It's Complicated star was in court today to seek an emergency protective order to alter the ex-spouses' current custody and visitation arrangement with their two young daughters, Lola and Sam, Sheen's longtime attorney, Martin Singer, told E! News.

“She has always tried that, not withstanding her public statements to the contrary,” he said. “[In public} she always states it is good for the children to have her father with the kids, but [in private] put she is constantly trying to deprive Charlie from seeing the children. I guess it’s good for her reality show.”

According to Singer, a judge was planning to deny the motion when Richards' family lawyer, Neal Hersh, asked if he could withdraw the motion and refile it before another judge on Monday.

Hersh told E! News that he is planning to return to court next week to argue the motion.

Which, as far as Sheen's camp is concerned, won't have quite the same impact as taking a swipe at the Two and a Half Men star today.

"In my opinion [Hersh] did it today to tie into the Emmy nominations, and, in fact, Charlie got an Emmy nomination, so I think it was timed for that reason," Singer told us. "I wonder if she had a producer from E! there helping her put on her show.“ (E! Online is a division of E! Entertainment.)

Sheen earned his third straight Emmy nod for his lead role as a womanizing jingle writer in Two and a Half Men, which is again up for Best Comedy.

To which Hersh responded, Huh?

"Mr. Singer focuses far too much on celebrity clientele," Hersh told E! News this afternoon. "I focus on issues. I had no idea that today was the Emmy nominations whatsoever or do I care, one way or another. We went to court today because we felt it was necessary and appropriate.”

"Denise has made her position clear throughout these proceedings and her position is, all the judicial officers and the files have been sealed, but all the things have been clear," Hersh added. "And she is not saying one thing in private and one thing in public.”

This is just the latest battle in Richards and Sheen's ongoing war over access to their kids. Sheen has had varied visitation privileges with the toddlers since 2006, but in between a series of uneasy truces the two sides have kept their respective legal teams busy over the last year trying to rain on the other's parental parade.

Last fall, Sheen filed a request to be able to hire his own childcare help rather than be required to let Richards' employees accompany him on all their visits. Richards then fired back with a motion to end Sheen's overnights with the girls.

Back and forth it went, with Richards alleging that Sheen had stopped paying child support (allegation denied) and Sheen trying to stop their kids from being featured on It's Complicated (they are, to an extent). Then Sheen apologized—not really to his ex-wife but to his fans and all his black friends—for dropping the N-word in a profanity-laden voice mail he left for Richards back in 2005 that just recently made its way online.

The duo were in court again last month after Sheen requested an emergency custody hearing, supposedly after Richards failed to drop Lola and Sam off for a scheduled visit. Attorneys for both parties claimed to be quite pleased with what went on behind closed doors.

And Hersh said Thursday that his decision to hold off until Monday was merely because he wanted to bring Richards' qualms to the attention of the judge "who is familiar with this case and who has had this case for sometime."

"It is true that the judge [Judge Steinberg] did not think it was an emergency, today. And as a result, she was going to set it for a hearing when Commissioner [Harvey A.] Silberman got back from vacation. I asked her not to do that and to let me come back the first day he comes back from vacation on Monday, rather than setting it on his calendar sometime in the future."

"If Judge Steinberg wanted to deny this motion out of hand and not let me come back to court on Monday, she would have done so," Hersh said. "She is the presiding judge of the family law department. She obviously wanted to allow me to present these serious issues to Commissioner Silberman, and that is why she did what she did. ”

The attorney would not comment on what prompted Richards to file the motion in the first place.

Lohan Paternity Test Delayed




For all of you desperate to find out if Lindsay Lohan does—or does not—have a new kid sister: Sit back, it's going to be a while.

E! News has learned that the paternity testing company Michael Lohan tapped to determine if he is the father of 13-year-old Ashley Kaufmann won't process the test without a court order.

"I got a letter saying I need something from the court before they'll process anything," said Lohan. "And I didn't get that before. So, now I have to go back to my attorney."

Lohan says he is still doubtful that Ashley, the daughter of a Texas woman he had an affair with more than 14 years ago, is his child. He acknowledges he had a brief relationship with Kristi Kaufmann when he and his then wife, Dina Lohan, were temporarily separated.

But he adds that their relationship was brief and that Kaufman moved in with a new boyfriend shortly thereafter. It's that man, Michael alleges, who is the likely father.

"The timing is just off," Lohan said in a previous interview. "If she's mine, I'll take responsibility. But I wasn't with her nine months before Ashley was born."

Lohan said he's disappointed the test results will take longer than he initially thought.

"But I'll do whatever it takes to find out," he says. "Everyone will know the truth soon."

Becks vs. LiLo: A Flashbulb Face-Off in NYC




If Lindsay Lohan ever decides to keep a lower profile, she should consider spending more time around David Beckham.

Lohan and her gal-pal Samantha Ronson were on the same flight to New York today as the soccer hunk.

When the two girls got to the luggage carousel, there wasn't much fuss: Some kids asked for autographs and a single paparazzo snapped some pics.

Then Beckham sauntered to the carousel...

"About 25 people ran over to him, and there were at least five photographers who showed up out of nowhere taking photos," a source reports.

Beckham had to hightail it to NYC after last night's ESPY Awards in Hollywood to get ready for Saturday's Los Angeles Galaxy game against the New York Red Bulls.

Lohan, meanwhile, will most likely be doing the nightlife circuit while on the East Coast with Ms. Ronson.

I'm told she'll be at Sephora's 10-year anniversary party tonight at the Angel Orensanz Foundation, where Ronson will be deejaying.

The two will then head to Long Island for some hobnobbing in the hoity-toity Hamptons.

They're expected to be attending tomorrow night's VH1 Save the Music benefit at the EMM Group's the Estate. As for Saturday, Ms. Ronson will be spinning at the Lily Pond nightclub.

And if that's not enough for you, Lohan may be spending the week in New York. She could be returning to the Hamptons for next weekend's Super Saturday 11, the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund shopping benefit hosted by Donna Karan and In Style.

Kim Kardashian: Khloe Has to 'Pay the Consequences'



Kim Kardashian is coming down hard on little sis Khloe for her legal woes leading to a jail term.

"She made a mistake, she has to pay the consequences, and she's definitely willing to," Kim, 27, said Wednesday on The Wendy Williams Show.

Khloe, 24, was hit with 30 days in Los Angeles County jail after violating probation for a DUI arrest. She didn't complete roadside cleanup duty or enroll in an alcohol education class, as had been required.

Will Ferrell's (Joking) Advice to Nicole Kidman



Will Ferrell played Nicole Kidman's husband in 2005's Bewitched – and if she needs parenting tips, he's available.

"For me, talk to your children, at least once a week," Ferrell, the father of sons Magnus, 4, and Mattias, 1, joked to PEOPLE at Tuesday's premiere of Step Brothers in L.A.

"If you've got time, do it two or three times a week," he adds. "But otherwise, I find the times where I let weeks and weeks go by without talking to my children, that adds up."

Sarah Silverman's 'Matt Damon' Song Up for Emmy



For Sarah Silverman, this has been a week of good news and bad news.

First, the bad: On Monday, it was reported, she and boyfriend of five years, Jimmy Kimmel broke up.

Now, the good: On Thursday Silverman, 37, was one of those lucky enough to be nominated for an Emmy.

But, now for the weird news: the TV Academy nod is linked to what she did on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, an over-the-top music video in which she and the Sexiest Man Alive flaunted their (fictitious and funny) affair to Kimmel, all set to music in a ditty titled, "I'm F------ Matt Damon".

The Emmy nominating committee clearly liked what it heard. Silverman is up for the gold in the category of outstanding original music and lyrics, along with her fellow writer-composers on the ditty Tony Barbieri, Wayne McClammy, Sal Iacono, and Dan Warner.

Their competition for the statuette are those who wrote the song "I Ain't Got No Rhythm" for the Disney Channel's Disney Phineas And Ferb; "The Most Beautiful Girl (In the Room)" and "Inner City Pressure," both from HBO's Flight of the Conchords; and "Sad Fitty Cent," from FOX's MADtv.

Only, so far, there's been no reaction on her nomination from composer-comedian Silverman.

Since the breakup, in fact, there has been no comment from either Silverman or Kimmel on anything of a personal nature. He made no mention of the split on his show this week.

The Emmys will be handed out Sept. 21.

Jeff Probst to Kristin Chenoweth: I'm Not Engaged



After spending a morning in the heat and humidity filming a challenge for Survivor: Gabon, show host Jeff Probst arrived back to production's base camp to find 75 e-mails telling him that he'd just been nominated for an outstanding reality host Emmy Award.

But that wasn’t all he heard.

"The funniest part of the whole announcement to me was hearing that I was getting married!" says Probst, speaking to PEOPLE from Gabon, after Pushing Daisies actress Kristin Chenoweth, who'd announced the nominations Thursday morning, also let slip that four years ago, she and the "cute" Probst had once dated – but now he was set to wed some other woman.

"Considering I’m not even in a serious relationship," said Probst, "that was a big shock to me. Perhaps in addition to being talented and beautiful, Kristin Chenoweth is also psychic!"

Added the TV host: "The first email I got said, 'Congratulations on the nomination AND Kristin Chenoweth!' I thought, 'What does this mean?' And so I wrote back, 'What are you talking about?' "

Back came the clip, "and it was a funny story," says Probst. "It's true! We went on a date several years ago. We met at a charity function, and she's beautiful, talented and funny. I think the only reason we didn't go on a second date was timing. We had different schedules. We were living in different cities."

Of the other e-mails Probst received, "four of them were from Tom Bergeron, Ryan Seacrest, Phil Keoghan and Alison Sweeney," he says. "I made a joke to Ryan, 'Well, now when I stand up to let Phil Keoghan walk past to collect the Emmy for best show, I can let you walk past to collect the Emmy for best host, as well!' And he wrote back and said, 'Fat chance – I'll be out on the red carpet, asking what you're wearing.' "

Expert: Britney & Kevin Will Likely Settle Custody Case




Britney Spears and ex-husband Kevin Federline are headed for a custody trial next month – but some legal experts say a settlement is more likely.

"If Britney goes to trial, it's a gamble," says L.A. family lawyer Lynn Soodik, who's not involved with the case. "Yes, she could win more time with her kids, or she could lose what's already in place."

The former couple, who are parents to Preston, 2 1/2, and Jayden, 1 1/2, are due back in court Friday for a routine custody hearing.

Spears currently has monitored visitation with her sons twice a week with one overnight. In January, after a forced hospitalization at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Spears lost all visitation rights with her kids until the following month.

"It's extremely rare for a parent to be under conservatorship during a custody battle," adds Soodik. "Because of this, it's in her best interest to fight for more custody only after she regains her health. A settlement can happen at any time."

A source close to Spears says the singer will likely get increased visitation as time goes on.

She remains under her father's legal control until July 31, when a court will decide whether to extend his powers.

Shonda Rhimes: Not ‘Insulted’ By Katherine Heigl’s Emmy Comments

for the Emmy race may have stunned fans, but Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes wasn’t fazed at all.

“I didn’t feel insulted,” Rhimes told reporters Thursday during an ABC TCA panel in Los Angeles. Still, she told reporters, “When I was told [what Heigl said] I found it surprising. I love and respect Katie as an actress. But she is outspoken.”

While Rhimes took it all in stride, others on the panel said they wouldn’t have reacted so benignly.

“I would have put her in a coma,” Ugly Betty creator Silvio Horta joked with reporters. (After Heigl’s comments hit the Internet, there were rumblings that her character Izzie would be killed off the show.)

But Rhimes backed up ABC entertainment president Stephen McPherson’s earlier comment that Heigl will be returning to the show next season –-and have a juicy story line to boot. “We have a great story,” she told reporters. “We’re all excited.”

So why did Heigl say what she said? Rhimes had no comment, but Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry offered up his theory: “She was drunk.”

Rehab and Roll



It's never too late to get help!

Rolling Stones guitar man Ronnie Wood has entered rehab for a drinking problem, it was revealed today.

His mouthpiece says, "Following Ronnie's continued battle with alcohol he has entered a period of rehab. His close family and friends say he is seeking help and look forward to his recovery."

Wood has had a history of substance abuse.

He told news agency Reuters in an interview last year that his wife and Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger had persuaded him to enter rehab before the band's 2002 tour.

This most recent trip to rehab might have been prompted by British media reports that ran last week claiming Woods' marriage was on the rocks because he had decamped to his Irish retreat with an 18-year old Russian COCKtail waitress.

The toy makers have created a new Barbie doll which many are describing as the S&M Barbie.

The doll comes with black fishnet stockings, a black leotard, gloves, and boots.

S&M Barbie is being modeled after DC comic superhero Black Canary.

The Black Canary Barbie doll is scheduled to be released in September, but we'll see if that goes as planned.

Some are just outraged like the religious group Christian Voice, which said, “Barbie has always been on the tarty side and this is taking it too far. A children’s doll in sexually suggestive clothing is irresponsible – it’s filth.”

Good new for the those Scrubs fans that remain out there.

As you might have heard by now, the show is being picked up by ABC for another season. It's likely to start airing in January 2009.

And, rumors are that the sitcom might continue on for a few more seasons with new cast members along the way.

Looks like they're trying to make it survive like ER did.

There's a (strong?) possibility that Scrubs lead Zach Braff won't be returning.

ABC entertainment president Steve McPherson said, "Certainly when we picked it up we had to make the decision based on this one season because, you know, there is a likelihood that that would be it."

He adds, "We do think there's an opportunity after that — talking to Zach, talking to Bill — and whether and/or all of the cast is a part of that, I still think there's a great amount of growth there. We do think that it will not hopefully be a one-season situation. But we'll just take that step by step."

Forget about future seasons.

Still In Full Bloom



It looks like the family of Victoria's Secret model, Miranda Kerr, is quick to talk to the media, at least in her defense.

Reports have been circulating non-stop that little known Kerr and her hottie boyfriend, Orlando Bloom, have broken up.

Her brother and mother, who are currently living in her New York home, are fighting back and stating that the two "have never been closer."

They are "frustrated and upset" to read the lies they say that they say were started by In Touch Weekly.

The reports are that Kerr and Bloom split and Kerr was then spotted with at two NYC clubs making out with oil heir Greasy Brandon Davis.

Kerr's brother, Matthew, says, "We were just out with a few other friends from Australia having a good time and we bumped into Brandon while we were at 10ak. They have been friends for a while and we just said hi, chatted for a bit and that was it. There definitely wasn't any kissing - nothing could be further from the truth."

Kerr's mother adds, "I realise there is an interest in people who are in the spotlight, but I just can't believe how far from the truth it gets. Miranda and Orlando have never been closer and are happier right now more so than ever. He's meeting her in Paris next week."

15-year-old Miley has vowed to stay a virgin until marriage, just like Britney Spears did, yet all those provocative photos of her keep popping up, including the most recent one of Cyrus wearing a white t-shirt while entirely soaking wet in the shower.

Well, it looks like British mothers are tired of that!

Several moms have said they are banning all Miley Cyrus dolls and toys from their house.

They feel Miley "is now of an unsuitable nature for a 15-year-old megastar.“

Question, if Miley is participating in "oral activities" with her boyfriends, does that constitute as sex????

We found it odd that Katie Holmes has been conspicuously covering her hands and wearing gloves recently.

And now we know why!

It appears that the actress' hands are discolored.

Holmes showed off some very dark hands - which do not match her face - while out and about in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Could that be the result of a burn???

Is that for her role on Eli Stone????

Industry insiders reveal exclusively to Perez that last week's People magazine cover with "Nicole Kidman's Baby Joy" was a sales DUD.

Meanwhile, Us Weekly and In Touch's Madonna covers, which competed against Kidman on newsstands, enjoyed solid sales.

"People sold WAY less than it normally does," sources tell us.

It's a good thing they didn't pay for her baby pictures then!

Isaiah Washington Supports Gay Marriage - For Reals!



Looks like "F" bomb dropper Isaiah Washington is working hard to rehab his image in the gay community.

Washington just made a big donation to the Equality California fund that's working to stop the anti-marriage amendment on the November California ballot.

The former Grey's Anatomy star's famous publicist, Howard Bragman, married his same-sex partner this week. And, in lieu of gifts, Bragman asked his friends and clients to donate to the fund.

The publicist said, “Chuck and I were very touched by his [Isaiah's] generosity and his support of this cause, and we expect many other high-profile contributions. He said wishes us all the best and he supports the rights of others in our community to get married.”

Washington has taken a baby step in the right direction.

Five Months Pregnant



The speculation can end now.

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are indeed expecting a second child!

The actress' good friend and Alias costar Victor Garber, who also was the minister and officiated over her island wedding, confirmed the news on Tuesday.

"Yes, she is," Garber says, when asked about the baby rumors.

A source adds, "She is five months pregnant. They are very happy."

Congratulations to the happy couple and little Violet, who is getting a new sibling to play with!

Pal: Jennifer Aniston Hopes Pitt-Jolie Twins Are "Beautiful"



Jennifer Aniston couldn't be happier for her ex Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

"She hopes the twins are beautiful," a pal of the actress, 39, tells Us Weekly in its latest issue, on stands now.

"She'd never want anyone to be unhappy with their kids," the friend adds.

Aniston – who would have celebrated her eighth anniversary with Pitt, 40, on July 29 – has been heating up her summer with John Mayer.

She has joined him at his shows in London, Toronto and St. Louis.

"You can tell Aniston's his biggest fan," a St. Louis concert staffer told Usmagazine.com on July 4.

She cheered him on from the side of the stage during Mayer's 90-minute set in Rothbury, Mich., July 6.

Aniston was photographed in West Hollywood at a furniture shop on Wednesday, while Mayer put in a surprise appearance at a Billy Joel concert in New York. (Mayer joined Joel on stage, playing guitar on the song "This is the Time.")

Woman Denies Report John Mayer Hit on Her While With Jennifer Aniston



The woman who In Touch claimed was hit on by John Mayer – during the time he’s been linked to Jennifer Aniston – tearfully told Us that the story "is completely not true" and she's considering legal action against the magazine.

The magazine claims in a story titled "Jen's Betrayed Again" that Mayer, 30, got "very flirty" with Chaton Anderson, 32, in Amsterdam on June 20. The magazine reports that Mayer described his "relationship status" as "very vague" and that he maintained "very intense" eye-contact during a two-hour conversation.

"None of this is true," Anderson told Us from her home in Manhattan Beach, CA on Wednesday.

"I met John Mayer almost a year ago," she explained. "I don't understand why they've said it was this year.

"Nothing happened anyway – nothing at all," she added. "I just met him briefly and he said, 'Hello, I'm John,' and that was it! It was just groups of people in a coffee shop."

A rep for Mayer also told Us: "The In Touch story is false."

The origin of In Touch's story?

Anderson says she told a friend who works at the tabloid that she met Mayer "a long time ago" – and the story was fabricated from there. She says she had no idea she would even be appearing in the magazine.

Mayer has been in New York City on his tour (he took the stage with Billy Joel Wednesday night), while Aniston has been miles away in West Hollywood. On Wednesday, she was spotted with a friend at a home decorating store.

Britney Agrees to Sole Custody for K-Fed




Britney Spears has agreed to hand the parenting reins over to Kevin Federline.

K-Fed's longtime attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan exclusively tells E! News that the divorced duo have reached a settlement in their long-gestating custody case.

According to the agreement signed by all parties, Federline gets sole legal and physical custody of sons Sean Preston and Jayden James and Spears will have visitation rights.

"The case has been settled," Kaplan said. "The court still has to approve it. " Both parties are due in court Friday morning.

The case had been set to go to trial next month but all had been hoping to settle up beforehand.

"As of this evening there is a fully executed deal memo...All the issues that would have been addressed at trial have been settled," Kaplan told E! News. "Can't speak to the exact terms of the deal. Orders in place...will stay in place."

But although this is theoretically good news for Federline, Kaplan maintains that this isn't exactly what his client had in mind.

"Kevins was not [out] to get custody. Kevins goal was to set up some kind of template so the mother of his children can co-parent," Kaplan said.

"He said I need to have Britney to be involved in the coparenting of the kids but I need there to be a structure."

But this is the structure he got and "Kevin is absolutely delighted," Kaplan continued.

"Nobody could have anticipated the terms of events that have occurred....This was a two-year journey that will be halted at a point that is good for these children. Custody is always modifiable. If there is a final order, it means there is nothing to try."

Spears has been enjoying monitored visits with her boys since late February after temporarily losing any on-hand-mommying privileges following a stretch of noticeably erratic behavior on her part and two brief hospital stays.

Federline's camp has credited the influence of Spears' father Jamie, who was appointed a coconservator of his daughter's estate Feb. 1, for helping to get the 26-year-old popster back on track.

A court commissioner is scheduled to review whether the make the conservatorship permanent at the end of this month. If the arrangement were to end, what then happens to Spears' current deal?

"While I can't tell you the terms, the order does anticipate what happens if the conservatorship is ended," Kaplan told E! News. "The devil is always in the details and this is a very detailed deal memo.

"Nobody can predict what the future will bring but ...to the extent possible I think we have really anticipated how to proceed."

We learn something new every day!

We revealed yesterday that Katie Holmes has been wearing gloves and long sleeve shirts to cover her freakily discolored hands.

We thought she was sporting purple hands for her appearance on ABC's Eli Stone.

But, a few insiders in the know informed us that Katie might have taken part in a Scientology purification ritual that caused her hands to go purple.

Yikes!

According to reports, the purification ritual is called the Purification Rundown or Purif.

Peeps going through the process take 'vitamin bombs' to get 'toxins' out of their bodies.

A source says that in almost every single case, Scientology founder Hubbard recommends dosages in his teachings that are well above the safe limits, in some cases as much as 142 times more than the toxic level. The side effects of such huge overdoses range from liver damage, hair loss, brain swelling and nausea up to fatal heart and respiratory failure.

The cleanse also prescribes huge doses of something called niacin. A report says large doses of niacin can cause liver damage, peptic ulcers, and skin rashes. Even normal doses can be associated with skin flushing.

Parker said she was truly hurt by that award. Calling the insult "brutal."

And now, the magazine is trying to kiss ass with the 43 year old.

Avril Cheats and YouTube Supports It?



We mentioned last month that Avril Lavigne's "hard core fans" were on a mission to make her video for the song Girlfriend the most played ever on YouTube.

Well, as of Friday morning, Team Avril toppled the now former #1 spot holder, the Evolution of Dance video, with 92,696,978 views.

BUT, Douchette Supremo's video didn't get there by legit means!

As we've previously reported - and corroborated by Wired - a website was created to automatically play the Girlfriend video every 15 seconds. Avril's fans inflated her play counts, propelling her vid to "most viewed" ever.

Avril's "Band Aids" plan to use this shady tactic til her vid gets to the 100 million views mark, the first-ever to do so on YouTube.

YouTube's policy is to remove videos from the most-played section if they discover that their view count system has been gamed.

Why haven't they done that??????

YouTube still has April's video listed in the site's "most viewed of all time" category.

Wired went on to reveal that YouTube has probably turned a blind eye to Avril's shadiness because the site's making advertising money off of the fake views.

Shady Lavigne's manager revealed the following at a business conference in London on Thursday:
"there's about a $2 million check waiting for her for all her YouTube plays."

Douchette and her managers are getting a cut of YouTube advertising sales money! Money they didn't even get by legit means!

There's a warrant out for Pete Doherty's arrest.

According to reports, Dopehead was due to appear in court Thursday to answer allegations of criminal damage.

He is accused of chasing a woman into a shop after she took a photo of him and then girlfriend Irina Lazareanu in August 2007.

Dopey is now expected to appear before the magistrate next week…unless the cops get him first.

Fergie Ferg has just been cast in Rob Marshall's feature film adaptation of the musical Nine for The Weinstein Company.

Other female leads in the musical already include Kate Hudson (eek!), Penelope Cruz, Sophia Loren and Nicole Kidman.

The musical is set around the women in the life of the main character Guido Contini.

Guido's role will be played by Daniel Day-Lewis.

The original Nine opened on Broadway back in 1982.

The last time Fergie "acted" was in the remake of Poseidon.

That ship sank. Let's hope this one doesn't too!

Barbie Winz!



We mentioned last month that Barbie's parent company, Mattel, went to court for control of the Bratz doll empire.

Well, on Thursday Mattel was declared the winner of the ownership case.

The billion dollar Bratz franchise may be in the hands of Barbie soon!

The Barbie folks were able to prove to the jury that the guy who 'created' Bratz was properly under contract at Mattel when he 'birthed' the dolls, so the ho dolls 'rightfully' belong to them.
