Mom of alleged Lohan sister 'wanted it exposed'



LOS ANGELES (AP) — The father of a 13-year-old girl who may be Lindsay Lohan's half-sister said the family went public with the story after Lohan's father, Michael, repeatedly refused to provide support.

The Montana girl's family is looking into legal options to pursue once they establish that Michael Lohan is the father, Daryl Kaufmann said in a phone interview. He said his wife, Kristi Kaufmann, had been trying to get Michael Lohan to support their daughter for years.

"She had enough," Kaufmann said of his wife when reached by telephone at their home in Florence, Mont. "She just wanted it exposed. So he's going to end up having to do something."

Michael Lohan told reporters Friday he learned of Kristi Kaufmann's claim after receiving letters and photos from her while incarcerated on drunk driving charges. Lohan acknowledged having a sexual relationship with Kaufmann while he was separated from wife Dina Lohan 13 years ago.

"Why would someone without taking a test put something out there like this?" Lohan said. "What if it's negative? What is that going to do to her own child and my children? Is this for the fame? There was correspondence where she said Ashley, her daughter, wants to be an actress, and she's so talented."

OK! magazine first reported Kaufmann's claim Friday. Daryl Kaufmann said his wife called and e-mailed several magazines in an attempt to expose Lohan as the father of her daughter. Kaufmann said OK! was the only publication to respond to her messages and did not pay for the story or photos of Ashley.

"She used OK! magazine to get the ball rolling," he said.

Michael Lohan acknowledged on Friday there was a resemblance in the photos of Ashley to his daughters. He said he recently received a "senseless, ridiculous voicemail" from Kristi Kaufmann, whose maiden name is Horn. He said he has taken a paternity test and will take responsibility for the child if he is proved to be the biological father. It was not clear when the results would come back.

Lindsay Lohan's publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnick, did not return messages left by the AP. Michael Lohan's publicist, Leslie Kellner Taylor, did not return messages seeking additional comment.

Michael Lohan, a former Wall Street broker, settled a long-simmering divorce with Dina Lohan last August, though they returned to court in Long Island last month over custody issues. The pair married in 1985. He was released from prison in March 2007 after serving nearly two years for attempted assault and driving while intoxicated.

Michael Lohan said he hasn't spoken with Lindsay or any of his other three children — Cody, 12; Ali, 14; Michael, 20 — about Kaufmann's claim. Ali and Cody currently live with their mother in Merrick, N.Y., and are featured on the E! reality show "Living Lohan."

Lindsay Lohan is currently filming a movie titled "Labor Pains."

Jorja Fox Makes Her 'CSI' Comeback



CSI fans have not seen the last of Sara Sidle. In fact, the time has come for fans to welcome one of the key players of the forensic drama, Jorja Fox, whose character left the series in the season 8 episode "Goodbye and Good Luck” where she had to go face the ghost of her past.

According to TV Guide, the 39-year-old actress has just inked a deal to return for CSI's ninth season premiere next fall. Not much has been revealed about her anticipated comeback as plot details are being kept under wraps for now. However, it has been reported that she "won't be appearing in a flashback."

In line with this, speculations have surged that Fox's return to the forensic drama has something to do with the mourning of Warrick (Gary Dourdan), who was shot and presumably killed in the season 8 finale. On the other hand, these are all just presumptions given that CSI boss Carol Mendelsohn hinted in the latest issue of TV Guide that Dourdan will be back in the fall and "not just in flashbacks."

Fox, who is also credited for her work on ER and The West Wing, joined CSI in 2000 and was known as materials and element analyst and eventually the love interest of Gil Grissom (William Petersen). In 2004, she got caught up in a controversy when she was reportedly fired from the forensic drama for allegedly failing to submit a letter to CBS for confirming that she would be on time for shooting. The dispute was resolved in just over a week and Fox was rehired by the network. Early last year, the news about her possible departure on the show emerged and despite fans' efforts to keep her on the program, Fox decided that season 8 will be her last.

Christie Brinkley 'Needs Time to Absorb' Divorce Testimony



After a day of gripping testimony from her ex-husband and his former teenaged lover, Christie Brinkley says she "heard a lot of new things I didn't know" in the opening of the couple's divorce trial Wednesday.

Looking upset as she gave a brief statement at Suffolk County Supreme Court in Central Islip, N.Y., the former supermodel added, "I need some time to let it all absorb." Brinkley was accompanied by her lawyer, Robert Stephan Cohen, who described the trial's opening as "a really tough day, as well as a long day."

In court, Brinkley's lawyers painted Cook, an architect, as a bad father who was fixated on Internet porn and whose affair with a then-18-year-old employee tore his marriage apart.

Cook's attorney, Norman Sheresky, explained his client's tears on the witness stand during brutal and at times humiliating questioning from attorneys: "All you've got to do is mention Peter's children ... He loves his kids. This is one of the best fathers you'll ever meet."

After Cook and his former mistress, Diana Bianchi, who is now 21, testified about intimate details of their affair, Brinkley's daughter Alexa Ray (whose father is singer Billy Joel) took the stand and told of constant criticism from Cook.

Describing a 2003 incident in which Cook allegedly became enraged that her shower was causing a leak, Alexa Ray testified, "He was pushing me down the stairs ... I went down in a towel ... and the drips were already coming down into the bucket. He shoved my head into a bucket and said, 'You clean this up.'"

During cross-examination, Alexa Ray described her mother as "very loving, but very idealistic about things."

The divorce trial – in which Brinkley, 54, and Cook, 49, are battling over custody of their children Jack, 13, and Sailor, 10 – continues Thursday.

Lindsay Lohan Turns 22 with Samantha Ronson at Her Side



Lindsay Lohan turned 22 Wednesday night with an intimate prom-themed birthday bash – and a sweet smooch from Samantha Ronson.

The actress – wearing a bright pink strapless micro-minidress by Bradley Bayou and an elaborate diamond necklace – arrived at Teddy's lounge inside the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel just after 10 p.m. And her companion Ronson took the prom-theme seriously, dressed to the nines in black pants, a tuxedo shirt, bow tie and top hat with red trim.

Once the 50 guests – including former Sopranos star Jamie Lynn Sigler and Lohan's younger brother Michael – began arriving at the balloon-filled venue, the Birthday Girl greeted them all energetically with smiles, hugs and kisses. Ronson was never far behind, often keeping her hand on the small of Lohan's back.

Jen Helps John Kick Off His Summer Tour



The tour of love continues for Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer.

The actress – who recently returned from checking out her boyfriend's London gigs – headed to Milwaukee, Wisc., Wednesday night, as the Grammy-winning musician kicked off his summer concert tour.

The happy couple arrived at the city's annual Summerfest music festival at around 5:30 p.m. Aniston – wearing black flip flops, a polka dot skirt and a white tank top – and Mayer stepped off the tour bus holding hands, said one festival employee.

"They looked cute together," said the worker. "And she looked like she wasn't trying too hard, like she was just being herself."

Kylie Minogue's Royal Honors



Kylie Minogue looked the part of pop royalty as she received a major honor from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace Thursday.

The prince, 59, presented the Australian pop singer, 40, with an OBE (Order of the British Empire) for services to music at the grand ceremony.

Minogue, who first learned she would receive the honor last December in Queen Elizabeth's annual list, showed off her star power by wearing gold heels and a shiny off-white dress with large colored stars.

Describing herself as "humble and proud", she told reporters, "I expected to be a little nervous, obviously very excited, but it was very emotional seeing all these people from different walks of life joining together for this event."

Angelina Prepares for Extended Hospital Stay



After Wednesday's press conference – during which Angelina Jolie's obstetrician announced it could be "several weeks" before she gives birth – she and Brad Pitt continued settling in to the Fondation Lenval hospital in the South of France.

"It's like Fort Alamo!" trumpeted the Nice-Matin. The local newspaper also described the international media crush at the hospital as something out of the TV series 24 with walkie-talkies "like the kind Jack Bauer would use."

But the scene inside seems far more domestic. Pitt dropped by the maternity ward Wednesday afternoon with their two daughters, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 2 (who clutched a large doll).

Jolie – who is expecting twins with Pitt – is staying in a pre-booked suite of four rooms overlooking the Mediterranean, the paper reported, adding that each room goes for a modest 125 Euros. (That's just under $200.)

Spice Girl Emma Bunton: 'I Like Being Curvy'



Emma Bunton is proud of her feminine figure. "I like being curvy!" she tells Britain's Red magazine. "I don't think I'd look good thin."

Still, getting back into her skimpy Spice Girls outfits soon after the birth of her son was far from ideal.

"At the time, I thought going on tour so soon after Beau would be a great idea," she says. "I should have thought about it more!"

After four weeks of total relaxation following her son's birth, Baby Spice admits she harbored qualms about going back to her day job.

"It's tough for any woman returning to work straight after having a baby. I didn't want to be in the gym 24 hours a day instead of being with Beau," says the singer, who breast-fed her son and did a lot of walking to stay toned.

Bunton admits that she initially felt self-conscious being back in the limelight with the band.

"But, one night, I was up on stage and it just hit me: Hold on, Emma. Everyone knows you've just had a baby – enjoy it.' "

These days, Bunton says she could "never be one of those people who thinks about their figure 24/7." But she is "careful" about what she eats.

"I don't have carbs for dinner, " she says. "But I love [chips] and Coke and great wine and Chinese food."

Linda Hogan Claims Hulk Is Stalking Her



The acrimonious split between the Hogans has gotten even nastier.

Linda Hogan filed court documents on June 30 seeking to prevent her estranged husband from harassing her. In the documents, first reported by TMZ.com, Linda Hogan, 48, claims that Hulk Hogan, 54, "relentlessly and methodically" follows her, "causing her anxiety and fear for her safety at all times." The motion also claims that Hulk "has a history of violence" towards Linda, "and is capable of attacking [her] at any time."

In a statement, David Houston, a lawyer for Hulk (whose real name is Terry Bollea) shot back: "Linda Bollea's allegations are pure fantasy, in line with her recent 911 call that has been widely played in the media.

"On May 22, Linda called 911 claiming Hulk was stalking her, which Hulk vehemently denied. Since November, Terry Bollea has been in Los Angeles working. The limited time that he has spent in Florida has been solely to visit his son and daughter. In addition, he has no history of violence."

Christie Brinkley Takes the Stand in Tears



The second day of Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook's divorce trial began just as dramatically as the first.

Taking the stand in a Long Island, N.Y., courtroom, Brinkley testified about "the day my world was completely shattered" – the day she learned that husband Cook was having an affair with a teenager.

On June 25, 2006, just after the supermodel delivered the commencement speech at Southampton High School, Diana Bianchi's police officer stepfather tapped her on the shoulder, Brinkley, 54, testified, and told her her husband wouldn't leave Bianchi, his then-assistant, alone. "I turned to look at Peter. His face was so tense ... he was saying, 'No,' " Brinkley told the court, reenacting how Cook, 49, was shaking his head.

"I thought 'Oh my god. It's true. He did it.' I knew from his face. It explained the feelings I'd been trying not to feel."

Her voice filled with emotion, Brinkley, dressed in a crisp blue shirt and a black skirt with a teal sweater draped around her shoulders, looked Cook in the eye as she testified. "I saw little Jack's face looking at his dad, the man and me," she said referring to her son, who was with them. "I thought, 'I am going to pass out.'"

She said that her vision started to blur and her knees started to buckle. She searched for a chair to sit down so she could collect herself.

Then, she said, she pretended to tie her shoe so no one would see her breaking down, and asked Cook to "get her out of here."

After the three arrived at her Bridgehampton home, Brinkley asked Cook for the car keys. "I drove away from my perfect life," she said, choking back tears. "I thought I had the picket fence. I thought we were happy."

Brinkley: I Felt Shattered
Brinkley also testified about Cook's use of Internet porn, saying his habit upset her so much because he appeared intent on personally meeting the women he found online.

"I found conversations of him trying to lure girls saying he would take them shopping, saying he would pay them if he could see their face," she said. When asked how she felt about discovering the porn she said, "I felt really stupid. Why didn't I know? Why wasn't I aware of this? I felt humiliated. I felt shattered. I just felt grief-stricken."

She said when she talked to him about the porn, "he said it was an abberation, something he only got into now because of the guys in the office."

As court broke for a lunch break, Cook lashed out at Brinkley, telling reporters: "Shrek was more believable than that." Brinkley will face cross-examination when the trial resumes. Earlier in the day, the model's best friend, Today correspondent Jill Rappaport, who first introduced Brinkley to Cook in 1996, detailed how devastated Brinkley was by the affair.

Hours after hearing the shocking news, Brinkley pulled over on a public road and "when I got there, Christie was lying on the ground huddled over with her hands on her knees. I thought she had died," Rappaport testified. "She was sobbing … almost catatonic. I grabbed her by the shoulders and she said, 'Can you believe this? Please tell me this is a nightmare.' "

Rappaport then accompanied Brinkley back to her home and comforted the sobbing supermodel in her bedroom. Later on that evening, according to Rappaport's testimony, Brinkley explained to her children – Sailor, 10 and Jack, 13 – why their father wasn't coming home, first telling Jack: "Daddy and I had a fight ... All mommys and daddys have fights and we're going to take a little time out."

The nasty divorce trial began on July 2, when an emotional Cook broke down on the witness stand as he admitted to spending $3,000 a month on Internet porn and detailed his trysts with Bianchi. Later on, Bianchi, now 21, and Brinkley’s daughter Alexa Ray (whose father is singer Billy Joel) also testified.

What's at stake for Brinkley and Cook? The contentious couple are battling over custody of their children Jack and Sailor, along with the distribution of assets which include several real estate properties and three boats.

Peter Cook on Brinkley: 'Shrek Was More Believable'



The war of words between Christie Brinkley and her estranged husband Peter Cook has gotten as ugly as a certain famous ogre.

When asked what he thought of his estranged wife Christie Brinkley’s teary testimony in their bitter divorce trial on Thursday morning, Cook quipped to PEOPLE, "Shrek was more believable than that."

Cook's lawyer Norman Sheresky was also dismissive of Brinkley's testimony. "I think her performance was a performance," Sheresky said during the trial's lunch break. "She's a good actress. It's been two years. She should be past this by now."

In response to Cook's comment, Brinkley's attorney Robert Stephan Cohen told PEOPLE, "For him to have made that statement is among the most outrageous things I have heard from anybody in the 40 years I have been doing this. He should be ashamed of himself."

Brinkley exited the courtroom flanked by longtime pals Jill Rappaport and Mindy Moak before returning for cross-examination.

Christie Brinkley Calls Trial 'Devastating'



Christie Brinkley stood her ground while facing tough questions from Peter Cook's lawyer during cross-examination.

After her emotional testimony Thursday morning, Brinkley returned to the stand Thursday afternoon. Cook's attorney Norman Sheresky kicked things off by asking why she "chose" to tell her story in open court.

"Sir, to relive this publicly is devastating ... none of this is my choosing," she tersely responded.

The supermodel also strongly refuted Sheresky's claim that the trial could damage her children, saying she's taking steps to shield them from the press. She said daughter Sailor, 10, is away at camp and son Jack, 13, is preparing to leave for camp this weekend.

"My children are safely away right now ... there are no TV clickers in my home, no newspapers available," she said. "The idea my children are adversely affected by this is false."

When Sheresky somewhat sarcastically asked how she felt while tearfully testifying earlier about events that had happened in 2006 – implying that she should have worked past some of the pain by now – she replied, "It's been two years – a nightmare of pure torture. It hasn't stopped."

Sheresky repeatedly asked Brinkley if she was angry and she responded, "It goes without saying. There's a certain amount of anger."

Brinkley v. Cook Divorce: They Said What?



As their divorce trial continued Thursday afternoon, it seemed that both Christie Brinkley, 54, and Peter Cook, 49, had sharpened their claws.

Under cross-examination, the supermodel took a self-deprecating jab at suggestions that her teary testimony Thursday morning was merely an act.

Cook’s attorney Norman Sheresky repeatedly asked Brinkley, "Aren't you an actress?" to which she demurred, "I think that would be stretching it."

When Sheresky went on to note that "actress" was listed as one of her talents on her bio, Brinkley answered that it was written by her agent. She added that suggesting she was an actress would be "flattering myself. I was in National Lampoon's Vacation," she said, noting it is now out on DVD.

With that, Brinkley was dismissed from the stand, but as she took her seat, she turned to Sheresky and said, "Thanks for the promotion."

Next, Sheresky called Cook – who earlier on Thursday had said of his estranged wife's testimony, "Shrek was more believable than that" – as a rebuttal witness.

After Cook testified that Brinkley once expressed distress over her daughter Alexa because she had "gained a lot of weight and dressed so slovenly" after her first semester at college, Brinkley’s lawyer Robert Stephan Cohen cried out an objection. In response, Cook said into the mic, "Ms. Brinkley's looking for the truth, isn't she?"

New mom Nicole Richie is already working on a new role — guest starring on Chuck, which began filming last Monday.

“It was fantastic,” a source said about Richie, 26, being on the set of the NBC show. “She was friendly. Everybody loved her.”

Nicole plays Heather Chandler, an old high school nemesis who made fun of Sarah, played by Yvonne Strahovski. “She has a great fight scene,” the source said. Between takes and training for their fight scene, they were “giving each other high-fives.”

Taking a page from fellow starlet Britney Spears, Richie is shooting until next week to finish an episode that will air in mid-October.

And she even had her number one fan to cheer her on. Baby Harlow, dressed in a light blue dress and white sun hat, stopped by on Thursday.

Christie Brinkley: Husband Was Suicidal After Split



During her two-hour testimony Thursday morning, Christie Brinkley aired more of Peter Cook’s dirty laundry.

Brinkley detailed a call she received from Cook shortly after she discovered news of his shocking affair in 2006, describing her estranged husband as being hysterical and suicidal. "He was sobbing and said he was driving erratically and that, 'I'm going to drive into a tree,'" Brinkley said on the stand. "I said, 'Pull over. You need help.' He said, 'No, I'm going to kill myself.' Then I spent the rest of the day trying to find a place he could go to get help."

But the revelations didn't stop there. On the heels of testimony Wednesday from her daughter Alexa (her dad is singer Billy Ray Joel) that Cook once punished her by shoving her head into a bucket of water, Brinkley said the strain between Cook and Alexa, 20, "was truly an area that pained me in our marriage."

Under cross-examination, Cook denied shoving Alexa's head into a bucket.

After the couple welcomed their daughter Sailor in 1998, Brinkley says Cook’s relationship with Alexa changed. "He would constantly be picking on her. It got worse and worse over the years," Brinkley said Thursday. "Finally one day I told Peter, 'You married me and my two children. If you can't love all of us, I can't stay in this marriage.'"

Brinkley also testified that she insisted he see a therapist to work out his issues with Alexa. "He did, to his credit," Brinkley said.

Christie Brinkley on Husband's Mistress: 'I Forgive Her'



Although her divorce trial from Peter Cook is getting increasingly ugly, Christie Brinkley is making peace with her husband’s former teenage mistress.

After a long day on the witness stand, Brinkley told reporters she wanted to let Diana Bianchi, 21, know that she forgives her.

"I'd just like to say after two days of testimony that I can't help but think about Diana Bianchi, and I want her and her family to know that I feel really badly for them," said Brinkley. "I feel bad for her and I forgive her completely."

"She was manipulated."

A source says that on Wednesday, Bianchi approached Brinkley's daughter Alexa Joel, 20, outside the courtroom and apologized.

"Diana said, 'I am sorry for the pain I have caused you and your family,'" says the source. "Alexa then hugged her and said, 'We have all been through a lot.'"

Brinkley also added of Thursday's testimony, "today was really difficult reliving all the horrors (of what happened two years ago)."

The trial is expected to resume Monday and the focus will shift to the issue of custody of the couple's two children, Sailor, 10, and Jack, 13. Both Brinkley and Cook are seeking sole custody.

The children are not expected to testify.

Bozo the Clown Actor Larry Harmon Dies at 83



Larry Harmon, who played the beloved character Bozo the Clown, has died at the age of 83, the Associated Press reports.

The actor died Thursday of congestive heart failure at his home, said his publicist, Jerry Digney.

"Bozo is a combination of the wonderful wisdom of the adult and the childlike ways in all of us," Harmon said in a 1996 interview of the character he was so famous for.

Harmon was not original Bozo, but portrayed the clown in many appearances – including at the Rose Parade in Pasadena in 1996 – and licensed the character to others.

Christina Applegate's Ex-Boyfriend Found Dead



Christina Applegate's ex-boyfriend Lee Grivas, 26, was found dead from an apparent drug overdose in his Hollywood apartment on Tuesday.

"Grivas did have a history of drug abuse, and our investigator found a syringe at the scene," said Lt. Fred Corral of the L.A. Department of Coroner. "But we're not making any preliminary conclusions until a toxicology report is completed."

On Thursday, Applegate, 36, released the following statement: "I am profoundly saddened. Lee was an incredible human being who was an extremely important and beautiful part of my life. He is missed beyond words. He touched so many and I feel much sadness for his mother, brother and all of his family and friends."

The Samantha Who? star met Grivas, a fisherman and aspiring photographer, while starring in the Broadway musical Sweet Charity, around 2006.

Mandy Moore And Ryan Adams Are Dunzo!

Bummer break-up news to report … the blink-and-you-missed-it romantic relationship betwixt Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams has already fizzled out, gone kaput, crapped out. Blaming the glaring light of the media spotlight, Ryan released a statement explaining the reasons for the break-up … sad but true, they are dunzo, ya’ll. “Mandy is one of those genuinely sweet angelic people you wish to meet your whole life. I am grateful for our friendship and how it allowed us both to grow and learn more. I found the entire speculation and subsequent photographs and intrusions terrifying and only wish to live as normal a life as possible, so that I might always remain punk as #### AND sober. Also, I just want to jam. Plus I like ######l A LOT.”

I understand the couple, R-Andy M-Adams, started hooking up back in December but managed to keep things quiet until March and then earlier this month the first pics of the couple together surfaced … and now they’re over. Mandy had to be the most wholesome of Ryan’s string of babes and Ryan was deffo the most interesting of Mandy’s men. I was taken aback when I first heard that these two were dating and now that they’re dunzo, I’m kinda mourning the loss. Sure, they made an odd pair but the thought of the two of them together was an intriguing one … what in the world do they have to talk about? Would they ever collaborate musically (like Ryan did with his ex-girlfriend Leona Naess)? What in the world was the sex like? I guess now we’ll never know. Lindsay Lohan Celebrates Her Birthday In Style

Lindsay Lohan celebrated her 22nd birthday last night with family and friends at Teddy’s lounge inside the Roosevelt Hotel here in Hollywood, CA. Keeping the guest list at a conservative 50 people, L. Lo partied the night away at a prom-themed shindig with only her closest peeps by her side. This morning, Linds called in to talk to Ryan Seacrest on his morning radio show here in LA on KIIS FM and talked a bit about her party and her birthday wishes. Lindsay Lohan turned 22 Wednesday night with an intimate prom-themed birthday bash – and a sweet smooch from Samantha Ronson. The actress – wearing a bright pink strapless micro-minidress and a massive diamond necklace – arrived at Teddy’s lounge inside the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel just after 10 p.m. And her companion Ronson took the prom-theme seriously, dressed to the nines in black pants, a tuxedo shirt, bow tie and top hat with red trim. Once the 50 guests – including former Sopranos star Jamie Lynn Sigler – began arriving at the balloon-filled venue, the Birthday Girl greeted them all energetically with smiles, hugs and kisses. Ronson was never far behind, often keeping her hand on the small of Lohan’s back. Just after midnight, Teddy’s wheeled out a large pink sheet cake featuring a picture of Marilyn Monroe in her iconic wind-blown white dress. The entire lounge sang “Happy Birthday” and Lohan obligingly blew out the candles. Her friends then chanted “speech, speech, speech,” but the guest of honor replied jokingly, “Shut the #### up.” (Her mother, Dina, stepped in to say, “Thank you all for coming.”) Soon after that, Ronson took over the D.J. duties (replacing DJ AM), as she spun a mix of ’s tunes and current hits. Lohan – who stuck to Red Bull all evening – made several visits to the booth and pumped her fists in the air to Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.” As the party wound down, the couple appeared to relax, even sneaking in a small peck on the lips at the DJ booth. By 1:15 a.m., the music was muted and Lohan turned out the lights with Ronson by her side.

Talking to Ryan Seacrest this morning, Lindsay talked about her party and her birthday wishes saying:



“I guess for everyone to leave everyone alone … no more tabloids … I just want to live a happy, healthy year and continue on the path that I’ve been on and, um, you know, be with the person that I care about and my family and I think that’s it.”

The ‘Pregnant Man’ Gives Birth

Thomas Beatie, better known to the world as the “Pregnant Man”, has just given birth to a baby girl — according to ABC News (THOMAS BEATIE, ALSO KNOWN AS THE ‘PREGNANT MAN,’ GIVES BIRTH TO A HEALTHY BABY GIRL, ABC NEWS HAS LEARNED). No real details are available just yet but just this past Monday it was reported that Beatie was due to give birth “within the week” … and BOOM! here we are:



Thomas Beatie, the transgender man who made headlines as the so-called “pregnant man,” gave birth today to a healthy baby girl, ABC News has learned. Born a woman, Beatie, 34, who had his breasts surgically removed and legally changed his gender from female to male, leaped to prominence around the world in April when the wispy bearded man revealed he was pregnant. Despite years of taking hormones and living outwardly as a man, Beatie maintained that he retained his female sex organs because he intended one day to get pregnant. “I actually opted not to do anything to my reproductive organs because I wanted to have a child one day. I see pregnancy as a process and it doesn’t define who I am,” Beatie told Oprah Winfrey in April. “I feel it’s not a male or female desire to have a child. It’s a human need. I’m a person and I have the right to have a biological child,” he said. Beatie was impregnated with sperm from a donor. His wife, Nancy, inseminated him at home with a device she said was like a syringe without the needle. They bought it from a veterinarian and it is typically used to feed birds. He has an intact vagina, but he has not yet revealed how he delivered the baby.

It looks like the Ladies Wimbledon Finals are gonna be very interesting this year … after they each handily defeated their semi-final opponents Elena Dementieva and Zheng Jie in the tourney this year, the finals match-up will pit sisters Venus (28) and Serena (26) Williams against one another for the crown — this is the first time the ladies have faced each other in a Grand Slam Final in 5 years:



Elena Dementieva and Zheng Jie managed to make their second sets against the Williams sisters very interesting, but power, pressure serving and grass-court experience ultimately prevailed Thursday as Venus and Serena earned the right to make this year’s Wimbledon final a family affair. Such occasions were once the rule in women’s tennis, but it has now been five years since the sisters faced each other in a Grand Slam final. Venus, 28, and Serena, two years her junior, have both survived a wild, upset-filled Wimbledon in style this year. While their usual rivals Maria Sharapova and Ana Ivanovic, who were seeded above them, were beaten early, the Williamses managed to sweep through their respective draws without dropping a set. Venus, the defending champion, went first on Thursday, serving and moving impressively to defeat the 5th-seeded Dementieva, an elegant Russian with a suspect serve, by 6-1, 7-6 (3). 90210 Becomes A Dangerous Zipcode Again



According to sources, Shannen Doherty will definitely make an appearance on the new 90210 and may even film scenes with Jennie Garth.

A very reliable and very inside source who works on 90210 tells E! that, “It is happening with Shannen. It’s just a question of how long she’ll shoot, whether it will be one day or ten, and what the storyline will be, but we are working on it and it is a very real thing.”

Another insider close to the negotiations points out: “I want to stress that Shannen has been very, very cool through this whole process. We have seen nothing like the behavior for which she was once famous for.”

While Tori Spelling is signed on to return to 90210, those plans will have to wait a little while. “I’m looking forward to returning to 90210 in a later episode,” Spelling, 35, told People, “but I just had my baby three weeks ago via C-section. Batman & The Joker Do Entertainment Weekly



Director Christopher Nolan spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the late Heath Ledger, who plays The Joker in the upcoming superhero blockbuster, The Dark Knight. Here’s what he had to say:

On Heath’s commitment to his character: ”The guy had serious nuts. What I needed was someone who wouldn’t be afraid of the comparison with Jack Nicholson. And then I saw Heath’s incredible performance in Brokeback Mountain. Such a lack of vanity. This was an actor who wasn’t afraid to bury himself in his character — to a massive extent.”

On having the same vision for the The Joker as Heath: ”We had the same take on the character. We didn’t have a script yet, but we had ideas. The idea of anarchy as an absolute. The idea of chaos as the most frightening thing to society. The idea of a motiveless criminal, somebody who just wants to watch the world burn.”

On Heath spending months working with a voice coach fine-tuning the Joker’s cackling cadence: “He tried to articulate to me what he was doing with his voice, but it was sometimes hard to understand. He talked about ventriloquist dummies, the way their mouths moved, the way their voices wouldn’t appear to come out of them. He said he wanted the voice to have a mocking quality, a sort of disconnectedness.”

On Heath splattering makeup across his face throughout the film: ”He started applying the makeup himself — just to see what it would look like if he put it on with his own hands. We talked about how streaking the paint could get across the idea of corruption, of decay.”

The latest "celeb" to create her own scent is Ray J's former sex tape buddy, Kim Kardashian.

Kim says on her personal blog, "It has always been a dream of mine to start my own perfume business, since I love to mix fragrances together and come up with new and different scents! I hope you understand my total excitement."

Oh, fun.

Kimmy will be working with New Wave Fragrances.

They're the ones who also distribute True Religion and Ed Hardy's fragrances - neither of which we would wanna smell if they gave it to us for free.

Adds Kim, "It all started when my mom introduced me to famous perfumer Caroline Sabas from Gras, France. She and I have been working together to create a scent that is uniquely me that I can share with everyone!"

The perfume will be sold in the US, as well as in Australia, England, Germany, and Japan.

The target date set for it to hit stores will be by next May, just in time for Mother's Day!

Hah, yea, that's what every mother wants to receive!

Jay Z Screwed Over His Club Workers?



Multimillionaire Jay Z has been sued by current and former employees of his NYC club 40/40, according to reports.

The employees claim they were denied hourly wages and forced to be compensated by customer tips alone.

WTF?

They also assert that they were forced to pay for breaks, spills, and "walkouts" on the job.

The report goes on to say that hundreds of former employees could be eligible to collect on the claims if their case wins in court.

Things aren't looking good for Hova.

The source claims that a federal judge has admitted the club owners violated federal labour laws after reviewing an earnings report for at least two workers who showed they were not paid for overtime at the venue. The judge said, "The record contains corroborating evidence of the allegations."

Such disappointing news.

We always thought of Jay Z as a pretty good guy.

If They Make Another Batman Movie…



As you know, the upcoming movie The Dark Knight will feature Batman battling it out with the Joker and Two Face.

The original plan was to have the Joker, played by Heath Ledger, return for the next film.

However, given that after his death they more than likely won't recast for the role, some changes have been made and the next villain has been revealed.

If another Batman flick is made, he will then be going up against the Riddler.

The last Riddler was played by Jim Carrey in Batman Forever, though no word on if he'll return. More likely than not - he won't.

Actor Gary Oldman, who plays Lt James Gordon, says of casting choices for the next film, "I don't see why not. I mean, they did it with Katie Holmes' character. I understand that this is a different circumstance, but I think another actor could do the job. I think Heath would want another actor to do the job. Maybe we don't need the Joker. Because we'll have The Riddler."

Katie's character, Rachel Dawes, will now be played by Maggie Gyllenhaal. You know Katie is too "big" now for a Batman movie.

We'll have to watch The Dark Knight first before we even consider watching the next film….though this one is getting GREAT reviews!

According to reports, Pete Doherty has teamed up with an author/ex-drug addict named Sean Boru to write an "intensely personal biography" which will focus on Dopehead's relationship with Kate Moss.

In response to his arrest on Tuesday night for assaulting a concertgoer, a publicist for Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy has sent us the following statement:

“Somebody in the crowd was taunting Travis with racial slurs. Travis invited him onstage with the intent of calling him out in front of the crowd, with absolutely no intention of a physical altercation. When he tried to help him onstage, the guy hit Travis in the knee area (which has been in a brace because of a recent sprain), forcing Travis to defend himself. At this point, a scuffle broke out.

This whole incident is unfortunate. Travis McCoy and Gym Class Heroes are anything but violent. Their message is about racial unity and having a good time. It’s amazing that in 2008 there are still people out there that would say such ignorant things.

Travis is deeply upset that this happened, and has expressed his apologies to the band's fans that were at the show, Kevin Lyman, and the Vans Warped Tour. GCH is putting this behind them and looks forward to seeing everyone on the rest of the tour.”

Casting Couch: Simpsons Gets Guests, Imperioli Gets Life; Kilmer Gets Bad

Homer Simpson is 'tooning in Denis Leary, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and some Internet gazillionaires, Michael Imperioli is trading the Bada Bing for bell bottoms, and Val Kilmer is playing good cop to Nic Cage's Bad Lieutenant.

Louis-Dreyfus will reprise her role as Snake's girlfriend in The Simpsons' season kickoff on Sept. 28, while Leary will take a break from Rescue Me to play a tantrum-prone version of himself whose cell phone winds up in Bart's hands.

Peter Cook's Lawyer: Christie Brinkley Wants 'Revenge'



Lawyers for Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook traded barbs after another acrimonious day of testimony Thursday.

Norman Sheresky, Cook's lead attorney, repeated his assertion that the supermodel pushed for the trial to punish her architect husband.

"I think it's pretty clear she's doing this out of revenge," he told reporters.

Later he said, "during the custody case you're going to find out how angry she was. There's an independent doctor who was appointed in this case. He said she was boinkered by anger."

Brinkley's lawyer countered to PEOPLE, "I still don't understand why we have to go through this. I guess this is what (Cook) wants."

The custody phase of the trial begins Monday. Both sides are seeking sole custody of Jack, 13, and Sailor, 10.

Sheresky said Cook is seeking sole custody because Brinkley has inappropriately criticized Peter in front of the kids.

"She was a wonderful mother for a long time," he said. Asked about now, he replied, "No, she's not. She wants to slam Peter every time she can."

Sheresky also praised Cook as "an able father" who will "promote a good relationship" with Brinkley.

David Arquette: Coco Loves Broccoli!



David Arquette says he loves to cook for his 4-year-old daughter Coco – and she loves to eat.

"She's a really good eater!” the proud father told PEOPLE at the Venice, Calif., Boys and Girls Club, where he was serving free meals to needy children Wednesday. "She'll eat vegetables – she loves broccoli and shrimp and chicken. [And] she likes Honey Nut Cheerios."

Because he and wife Courteney Cox Arquette both have busy Hollywood schedules, mornings usually are reserved for him and Coco. "I always typically cook breakfast, because we hang out in the morning a lot," he said.

And on the weekends, Arquette, 36, fires up the grill for the family. "My barbecue tends to be a little spicy,” he says, and, like most children, "[Coco] doesn't like spicy things." But "my barbecue corn she does [like]!"
